A great experience with Assisting Hands who filled in to help out a loved one while we made long-term arrangements. They take an individualized and caring approach, and I highly recommend them.

Steve and his team at Assisting Hands are amazing. We had to bring in 24 hour care for my 92 year old mother within 24 hours when her caregiver got sick. Assisting Hands was responsive to our needs and asked questions about my Mom to ensure they got the right aides. Due to COVID, we could not meet them and they had to just show up at my Mom's place. The aides were amazing and kind. Always tracking my Mom's health. In the beginning, the nurse called frequently to determine if something was normal for Mom or an issue to address. The aides played games with Mom and ensured she facetimed with her children. It was so reassuring to know that she was not only being well cared for but treated like a person who deserved conversation and interaction. Her main caregiver is back and we are still using Assisting Hands for Mom's weekend coverage. If she requires 24 hour care in the future, we will certainly be using them. The entire team from Steve, to the nurse, to the billing staff to the aides are wonderful, caring and responsive. Highly recommend!

We worked with Assisting Hands of Potomac for the last 2.5 years as our mother remained in her home with companion care. We were 100% satisfied and pleased with AHP throughout our time with them.
Steve Lorberbaum was kind, compassionate, informative, supportive and accessible. He took great interest in Mom and our personal situation as we navigated a transition to in home care and all of the ups and downs that come along with it.
The office staff was always helpful and we never had a problem reaching somebody in the office - morning, noon, night and weekends we were always able to reach an AHP representative. The caregivers that came to Mom's home were excellent. Though we had changes along the way, the team at AHP always worked with us to get just the right fit for Mom and we all became quite attached to the group of women that cared for her. After Mom's death, we have enjoyed keeping in touch with her caregivers who share our grief over Mom's loss.
Like so many families, we were navigating uncertain territory when we realized Mom would need companion care to stay in her home. AHP was the first agency that we worked with and we never looked back. They helped us every step of the way and ensured that Mom's health and safety were the utmost priority at all times.

Assisting Hands in Bethesda placed a wonderful caregiver in my home while my sister visited me for a month. She has advanced Alzheimer's and I couldn't leave her alone while I went to work. Vida was the perfect match for her and they went for walks, grocery shopped, chatted and seemed like "old friends". My concern that my sister would resist care was quickly put to rest with the wonderful, sweet nature of such a lovely caregiver. Thanks to this agency, my sister and I had a great month together!

I live alone and with COVID, I knew I needed outside help when I had a complete knee replacement. Sonia and other staff including every single person I talked to in the central office were always kind, consistent and responsive. The CEO gets high praise from all his staff.
