Great Garden centre.

Great Garden centre.

Food had good and bad experience here breakfast and general meals like Ham egg and chips are good.

Sunday roast very poor value for money for what you get and the quality as have had better Sunday roasts from a chain pub than here sadly.

Been here a number of times, this is the first I would give it a poor review. Came looking for a specific plant, asked the plant manager who didn't know and didn't care. Amazed and unimpressed. More irritated by his response than the fact they hadn't got it. Maybe he was having a bad day. Maybe he should keep his bad day to himself. I come here every year looking for this plant and suddenly this year it's not here and they really couldn't care less. Shame that this is the year Google offered the opportunity to write a review!

Just had a pleasant lunch with a couple of friends. However I please ask that the trays are washed before stickily and wetly being stacked and that you attend to the cleanliness of the cutlery because the soup spoons and knives we were given were quite unclean.

The plants were good with fair selection and lots of gifts and gimmicks.
This garden centre is the same as most where you can buy more gifts than garden pestersides and feed and treatments.
The gardening should come first and gimmicks second. Some of the plants were expensive.
With a bit of thought this could be a very nice e garden centre.

Do not go here for lunch unless you have a couple of hours to waste. Ordered 2 sandwiches, despite asking 3 different staff, an hour later still had not eaten and at no point did anyone offer an apology or an explanation. Beautiful garden centre.

Really nice cooked breakfast, really nice coffee. Golden syrup is not maple syrup. Dont verbally tell me the pleasure pit pancakes come with maple syrup then bring them out with a cooking ingredient! Yuk!

Sadly our experience of lunch on Monday was not satisfactory at all. After waiting 30 minutes for two sandwiches we had to ask why the delay. I was told dismissively that orders were served in order so despite it not being very busy, I presume this is their normal level of service. The restaurant was unable to provide either ice or lemon for the glasses of water we asked for. When my sandwich, (egg mayonnaise) finally arrived, it tasted rather odd. I scraped the filling from the bread and it would not have filled a teaspoon. I left most of it and ordered a skinny cappuccino. When that arrived it came as a full fat milk decaf cappuccino!
I will not be eating there again and will not be recommending it to anyone I know, which is a shame as I have had some pleasant meals there in the past.

Lots to choose from - little pricey but the till staff are not very good at customer service and I no longer bother to wait for 10 minutes to order a coffee (less staff now and it takes ages, to be served)
There are lots of other garden centres to choose from!

We have been long term customers of the garden centre, but very upset by staff in shop today. We have had numerous lunches and taken lots of friends and family and also spent a considerable amount in the shop and garden centre in the past. Today we had had a full lunch in the restaurant where the food was good and staff were pleasant. However, it was totally ruined by a very unpleasant staff member in the gift shop who made us feel very uncomfortable and upset. We will hesitate to visit again or take any other friends or family. Incredibly rude and thoroughly unpleasant attitude.

The service is despicable. I was ready to go to the till to pay for my plants. A customer rushed in to pay for her plants . After starting her shopping she decided to to leave the till and dissapeared. IIonly find out about what was happening when I complained about waiting. The person on till informed that she went to the bathroom and he asked if I could wait few more minutes. When I replied "Do I have s choice?" His answer was quick..."you actually have" on that sarcastic tone. The best part is that he could have cancelled the her bill and started mine.

They have a lovely cafe and a variety of nice decorations around Christmas time. Also on the 7th and 8th of December 2019 they have santa visiting them. Great place for children to visit too. And lastly they have a range of Christmas trees for great prices.

Oh dear, what have they done with our favourite garden centre restaurant, The Olive Tree? It's gone from what used to be a regular place for lunch, to somewhere we probably won't return again.

As an example of how the restaurant is now going, we had twice previously been charged 50p for a pot of extra hot water to supplement the small tea-pots that they used. Admittedly when we complained we were told it was a mistake, but it does make you wonder.

One can't but wonder if they have overstretched themselves now, as there are a lot of staff, plus they open in the evenings. Maybe they have to cut costs and it's being done at the expense of the food, which is a real shame. Mind you, in it's defence, it does seem pretty full up every time we go - maybe it's the rich area it's in but surely people will start to realise soon that the portion sizes are dropping.

It is sad, but we shan't be going back there again until things change.

We normally like this restaurant, but noticeably longer service time and Sunday roast very definitely should not have tomato soup as gravy! The waiting staff lovely but it was a little bit of a mess.

Large garden centre with a cafe.
Quite expensive but has nice gift shop with a good range of items.
Ranging from soft toys to kitchen and bathroom ware.
Located on the road to Epsom. Just off the downs. Definitely worth a visit.

Went for Sunday lunch on the 27th November.

The food was pretty basic - the roast potatoes were very dry and hard and the parsnips were not cooked through and inedible, as was most of the veg.

The small portion of thinly cut lamb over cooked and tasteless.

In truth it felt like I was eating a microwave meal.

Shame as the service and staff were superb.

Good quality and range of products. Store was not busy so it was easy to browse. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We were offered a basket when a member of staff saw us struggling . Would definitely go back next Christmas

Do NOT eat here if you are coeliac or otherwise need gluten-free food.

I went to their Olive Tree restaurant for the first time last week for their gluten-free pizza. There was some confusion between the 2 waiting staff when the food arrived but they insisted that I pizza I had been given was gluten-free. On querying this again the waiter went away 'to check' and came back giving a thumbs-up. Still not being convinced my wife tried them both and confirmed that she had been given a GF one. At this point, the manager intervened and couldn't have been more helpful and freshly cooked pizzas were supplied.

Unfortunately, this was then completely spoiled by the original waiter who come back over and insinuated that I was being overly fussy as "It's only a bit of flour. What harm can that do?"

I get that mistakes can happen, but to try to deny/cover it up and then say I'm the one with the problem is totally unacceptable.
