The course, owned by Ascot Racecourse Ltd, enjoys close associations with the British Royal Family, being approximately six miles from Windsor Castle.

Ascot today stages twenty-six days of racing over the course of the year, comprising eighteen flat meetings held between the months of May and October inclusive. It also stages important jump racing throughout the winter months. The Royal Meeting held each June, remains a major draw, its highlight being The Gold Cup. The most prestigious race is the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes run over the course in July.

The racecourse is the setting for a scene in the musical My Fair Lady and the subject for the song "Ascot Gavotte".

The racecourse was used as a filming location in the James Bond film A View to a Kill (1985), where Bond (played for the last time by Roger Moore) was beginning his mission to defeat the villainous Max Zorin (Christopher Walken), whose horse was racing there.

The James Bond production crew returned to Ascot Racecourse for Skyfall (2012), where it stood in for Shanghai Pudong International Airport.

The best of the racing world. Huge racecourse where you can finally find easily. Many cafes and restaurants. All in a beautiful setting so British. What to spend a whole day without seeing the time pass

Ascot is always a fabulous day out for all the family. We regarly take our 11 and 5 year olds and they love it. Staff are always extremely polite, friendly, smartly dressed and knowledgeable.
We have dined at nearly all the restaurants there and found them all to be of an exceptional standard.
Can get a bit pricey, but hopefully your winnings will offset that!

Generally it would be a nice place to go.

Generally it would be a nice place to go.
However, the disabled access was appalling in the village enclosure and there was a disabled access viewing platform with a slope which was completely crammed with young quite drunk people so it was impossible to make use of it. There were no staff in the area to help us. They should have had staff manning that platform so the people who needed it could use it.
Also,we were sent a very strict and detailed dress code. Many visitors did not follow this but were still allowed in.
We were given wrong info by staff on gate...told us if we went out to car we would not get back in which was completely untrue!!

Huge racetrace, as sone American presidents would say, but very expensive ans submissioned to royalities(???)
This is the place where British love to divide themselves into u classes. And they enjoy in that obvi sagregations. Ascot racetrace looks impressive, though. And too expensive. Esoecially Royal thingy. Do not try to park, it is reserved for rich guys. That's probably the reason we couldn"t find any magnet and english tea was served by Polish woman. Thought this (propriety) Ascot will be more impressive.

Had a brilliant day at Royal Ascot on tuesday Members Day. There is such a great atmosphere and it's a real experience. Our champagne picnic was rather damp but in true British spirit we soldiered on and had an extra glass of champers to lift out spirits. It's our 6th year and we can't wait for next year to come along.

Dubai Shergar Cup Day is generally a great day & evening but this year was spoilt by many very drunk people. No space to dance, rude people, and a female urinating in front of our family. Not a place to bring children! Fights breaking out and more...

Great facilities. Good staff to guest ratio. Toilets spotless all day. Top quality food and drink on offer. Great day out.

Short walk from the station. Is a bit of a upclimb to the racecourse.... recommend some comfy shoes for the walk up and something grippy for the way down.

Enjoyed the racing, food and drink stalls. However need to start supplying plastic glasses in the King Edward stand viewing area as people stumbling about dropping bottles and glasses. Glass and concrete don't go. Someone will get a serious injury. Staff serving customers who were way drunk. Poor organisation at two bars we bought drink. Disappointed nobody from Ascot racecourse has contacted me about my safety concerns. Serving really drunk people totally out of order!!!
