Superb racing and a great place to go and enjoy every moment Don
The course, owned by Ascot Racecourse Ltd, enjoys close associations with the British Royal Family, being approximately six miles from Windsor Castle.
Ascot today stages twenty-six days of racing over the course of the year, comprising eighteen flat meetings held between the months of May and October inclusive. It also stages important jump racing throughout the winter months. The Royal Meeting held each June, remains a major draw, its highlight being The Gold Cup. The most prestigious race is the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes run over the course in July.
The racecourse is the setting for a scene in the musical My Fair Lady and the subject for the song "Ascot Gavotte".
The racecourse was used as a filming location in the James Bond film A View to a Kill (1985), where Bond (played for the last time by Roger Moore) was beginning his mission to defeat the villainous Max Zorin (Christopher Walken), whose horse was racing there.
The James Bond production crew returned to Ascot Racecourse for Skyfall (2012), where it stood in for Shanghai Pudong International Airport.
Im so overwhelmed to see the Royal Family ... nice experience
What a lovely day especially the Christmas Carols after the races were over......our family loved it.....
The best of the racing world. Huge racecourse where you can finally find easily. Many cafes and restaurants. All in a beautiful setting so British. What to spend a whole day without seeing the time pass
Ascot is always a fabulous day out for all the family. We regarly take our 11 and 5 year olds and they love it. Staff are always extremely polite, friendly, smartly dressed and knowledgeable.
We have dined at nearly all the restaurants there and found them all to be of an exceptional standard.
Can get a bit pricey, but hopefully your winnings will offset that!
Fabulous place. Helpful staff. Plenty of choice for food drink etc. Great day out
Great day out for families, couples and friends. Lots to keep you entertained as well as the main event
Generally it would be a nice place to go.
However, the disabled access was appalling in the village enclosure and there was a disabled access viewing platform with a slope which was completely crammed with young quite drunk people so it was impossible to make use of it. There were no staff in the area to help us. They should have had staff manning that platform so the people who needed it could use it.
Also,we were sent a very strict and detailed dress code. Many visitors did not follow this but were still allowed in.
We were given wrong info by staff on gate...told us if we went out to car we would not get back in which was completely untrue!!
Ascot is always great. What is there not to like. 5 STAR.
A great day out at the races. Plenty of bars and food venues.
Fantastic. Service is great and the place is clean and well maintained.
Huge racetrace, as sone American presidents would say, but very expensive ans submissioned to royalities(???)
This is the place where British love to divide themselves into u classes. And they enjoy in that obvi sagregations. Ascot racetrace looks impressive, though. And too expensive. Esoecially Royal thingy. Do not try to park, it is reserved for rich guys. That's probably the reason we couldn"t find any magnet and english tea was served by Polish woman. Thought this (propriety) Ascot will be more impressive.
Real Ascot is a unique and exceptional event. To go there once in a lifetime.
Had a brilliant day at Royal Ascot on tuesday Members Day. There is such a great atmosphere and it's a real experience. Our champagne picnic was rather damp but in true British spirit we soldiered on and had an extra glass of champers to lift out spirits. It's our 6th year and we can't wait for next year to come along.
Dubai Shergar Cup Day is generally a great day & evening but this year was spoilt by many very drunk people. No space to dance, rude people, and a female urinating in front of our family. Not a place to bring children! Fights breaking out and more...
Attended a Corporate event very good all round, even when not had much luck on horses
Love this place! Great pizza place in the grandstand!
Pretty average corporate event; parts of the site were a but of a building site (I assume we were given some kind of a discount hence the 3 stars versus something lower)
Good facilities for wedding reception, needs decorating.
Good service but very busy today but still was a great day out
In the Queen Anne enclosure for Champions day it was like the depths of hell Full of drunken idiots and no stewards or control a shambles
Brilliant racecourse great polite staff fantastic day out for all
Great facilities. Good staff to guest ratio. Toilets spotless all day. Top quality food and drink on offer. Great day out.
Short walk from the station. Is a bit of a upclimb to the racecourse.... recommend some comfy shoes for the walk up and something grippy for the way down.
Want to impress your lady? Visit the place for memory of a lifetime
Everything about this place is great. Whether a family day or Royal Ascot - you won t forget your visit.
Such a good day out at a fantastic course. Only downside is it's quiet expensive once your inside not really value for what you pay.
Amazing installations, very well organised for big events, wide picnic area, personnel cleaning continously.
Great facility. Some race days seem to becoming a problem.
I had fun dressing up with friends and having tea. But could have went to the Ritz for cheaper. Bust.
Enjoyed the racing, food and drink stalls. However need to start supplying plastic glasses in the King Edward stand viewing area as people stumbling about dropping bottles and glasses. Glass and concrete don't go. Someone will get a serious injury. Staff serving customers who were way drunk. Poor organisation at two bars we bought drink. Disappointed nobody from Ascot racecourse has contacted me about my safety concerns. Serving really drunk people totally out of order!!!
Ladys day women are fit great day out food expensive bring a picnic and bubbly
Fantastic day. Corporate event and we were spoilt with the hospitality
Its grand and vast, yet very intimate as well. With a very wide choice of food places scattered around, while you watch the horses you bet on romp home
Winners Enclosure on champions day. Great day out. Great place to watch the racing
Extremely expensive for what it is. Posh like hell, with plenty of chavs around. Enjoy
Attended Shergar Cup event. Very enjoyable day highly recommend. Racecourse is picturesque inside and out.
Love this Iconic trek. Everything: grass, horses, Shampagne makes you feel special. I saw many great horses there. Charming, classy, amaizing. I was sitting very close to the Royal enclosure^ so I could see royal family.
Always an amazing day! Met wonderful people and the band "Fully Functional" were as always superb
Who gave this 5 stars? The first day of Ascor the whole paument system is down the so callec Bet At Ascot is a pald shadow of ghe old Tote operation and the operations cannot cope wiyh a drop of rain. A system that cares only for money anf pomp and thinkd ghe zveragd rzcegoer is scum that just has to be processed for the money they bring. Dreadfully arrogsnt from whst ot used to be!
Great day out even of you're not a fan of horse racing! Unfortunately it will take 20 minutes to get served at the bars and not enough variety in drinks or types of restaurants..
It's Ascot, what more can one say! Drinks a little steep though!
Racing as always the best but the jump racing does not have the glamour if the flat so rediculous sky high prices for food and drink is a put off
The only reason to hate Ascot is when your horse turns out to be a donkey.
