Today my wife and I attempted to see an 11o'clock screening of "45 years" only to be informed that this was only for parents with babies and that the next show was at 1400hrs! As far as we could see the web site had not stipulated that adults, without children, could not attend and I don't understand why we could not have been advised of the circumstances and asked whether we still wished to see the film. Given we had travelled in excess of 20miles we were not best pleased. Whilst we were there 3 other adults experienced the same treatment and we can only conclude that the Arts Picturehouse must be in a financially secure position to turn away paying customers.

The best and one of the only places to see arts films in Cambridgeshire. A wonderful atmosphere and a major cultural hub in the city. There are often screenings with Q&As with professionals and educational courses and events held here for adults and children alike.

A surprisingly secluded and good value cinema, with separate bar/cafe. This place offers deals for membership and students, and occasionally has live music in the bar area. They have seasons where they'll do a theme for several evening films per week, for example a chosen director. The theatres aren't particularly large, but still comfortable.

I love everything about the arts picturehouse, that it shows big studio films as well as artsier affairs, that it has unique if pricy concessions, that it is up winding stairs (no worries there is a lift for those who need) with sometimes slanted floors, that it resides above a pretty fancy chain pub. It is a lovely experience and I am happy it exists, it fits right in with what I consider to be the spirit of regent street.

Comfy, old style seats (I say style but they are just old) which is a great atmosphere but lacking in leg room for anyone remotely considered tall. Ticket prices are okay for a cinema, food and drink selection is good and staff are nice. Lots of speciality events and Q&As with celebrities, foreign films etc, as well as the most mainstream movies

We always enjoy going to the Arts Picturehouse at Cambridge .Sometimes we eat something light before the evening film in the bar..It is the second time I have had the ciabatta bread which accompanies the soup. Both times I have found it rock hard and a rather mean portion . I wouldn't mind this small portion quite so much if it was less likely to break my teeth .

Great cinema in the centre of Cambridge. Selection of a more 'artistic' movies with many choices of Q&A sessions after some viewings. However, films are usually around 6pm or 8pm, so some films at 7pm (after dinner with reasonable time to go to bed) would be a welcome change. Nice bar.

Not convenient if driving.

Nice cinema, doesn't have the feel of some big chains that just want to milk you for money. Not as many screens, but show some interesting films (not necessarily main-stream) that would not be available elsewhere.

There is a decent little social area with bar and the food counter isn't ridiculously priced.

A real part of the cultural fabric of Cambridge, the Arts Picturehouse is a fantastic resource for those that like to see off piste cinema, or popular films in a better venue than the multiplexes. The restaurant serves great food, the bar is friendly and relaxed. You can take drinks into the cinema in plastic receptacles. Part of a national chain, the Picturehouse has very good membership deals which incentivise repeat visits. They also do showings for parents and children under 1 on Wednesdays, "The Big Scream". The main screen is large and used for blockbusters, but the other screens are quite modest so book as appropriate for the film content. Toilets are not on the same level as the screens and require a trip downstairs. Auditorium seats are quite comfortable, and the type of audience this venue draws is mature and considerate, so no problems with noisy teens!
