lovely art. be sure to check out the current exhibits. the staff is friendly and there is more than one gift shop area. the children's area is cute and has activities built-in. i enjoy the self-guided tour. i like the natural light, also. the ramp is always fun for children and myself. great for groups.
We went to the John McLaughlin concert here right before the holidays. The venue was beautifully decorated with a very large Christmas tree in the center. We have been here for many concerts but the Center seemed particularly attractive on this evening. The venue itself is very open and airy with large staircases (and elevators) to the balcony level. There is seating in groups on the main floor and there are always three bars on the main level and 1 or 2 on the balcony level. There are two tiny women's bathrooms on the main level and one large one on the balcony level. The Center is always quite clean.
Home of High Museum and Alliance Theatre, both awesome.
This place is awesome! Saw Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Beth Hart. Great show! The only complaint I have are the tiny restrooms on the first floor. But go upstairs and you'll find larger restrooms with no lines.
I was slightly disappointed by not seeing any Vincent Van Gogh's paintings which I was told were there. I finally was told by the fourth employee that the paintings "might" be on loan at another museum. I was still captivated by my visit and enjoyed it.
This was such a cool place to visit, could spend more then a few hours here highly recommend especially if you are into photography
First time visiting the theatre for a show. Very nice facility! Comfortable - did not need the sweater I always bring! The only problem we had was finding our way around. We could not tell what door we needed to enter from outside, so we guessed. (Fortunately, it didn't matter.) Once inside, we could not find the box office! The signs inside are so small, you need to visual acuity of an eagle to find them, much less read them - especially if there are bodies obstructing the view of the tiny little sign on the wall, which I noticed as we passed by it after asking for directions. The show was great though, & overall, we enjoyed our visit!
Beautiful new theatre. Great show the last 3 times I've attended. Go see a show!
Iconic ATL venue! Loved probably the best acoustics you'll experience a concert event!
This was the first time I had gone i n years butit was amazing and I had a great time with my seven year old.
Visited the High Museum; breathtaking exhibits! Larger than I expected.
This place is big and plus they have good play's and they have a bar as well a win win for the whole family.
Beautiful exhibits. Excellent Courtyard. The parking deck is very convenient but it does cost money. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. However we did stand in line for the infinity exhibit from 3am to 8:30am and we still didn't get tickets to see it. They only sell a hundred tickets per day so if you're going to see the infinity exhibit get there early. However everything else is fantastic
The High museum of Art is a beautiful museum. If you've been here once you've seen the main collection, but it doesn't hurt to see it again and again. Recently went to see the Phillips Collection. It was beautiful, although a piece I remember seeing as a little girls was not exhibited I still had a wonderful time. It was a great date with my boyfriend.
Great venue. Concert hall was spacious and beautifully decorated.
Great museum! Clean, staff is friendly and the art they have in the museum is great! We loved it!
Been a regular here for years. Love the experience everytime. Annual Membership pays for it self in one visit.
The woodruff arts center is made up of the high museum of arts, symphony hall, and alliance theatre (as well as hertz theatre). I ve been to them all and have enjoyed my experience at all of them. The high has themed nights once a month I believe in the evening. Symphony hall does not permit you to bring drinks in the theatre so be aware before you buy that glass of wine. Symphony performances also start on time exactly so get there early. Hertz stage is more low key and casual. Depending on what event or performance you are attending I ve seen people dressed in everything from jeans to formal gowns.
Came for Family Fun Day event! Seemed as if there were more things for toddlers than older kids.
What an amazing building and incredible inspiration to enjoy and pursue the arts even more. Wish I could camp out inside for like a week and charge up, go out into the world and repeat. Perhaps I'll work with the few hours I can get.
First time at the Hertz Stage. Small , nearly in the round theater on the lower area of the Woodruff showcasing more experimental productions.
Top drawer, always. We attended for a timed entrance event. Of course, this means very high traffic. We were queued and admitted as scheduled and the exhibit was wonderful, Infinity Mirrors. Everything done at the High is exceptional. Join, and go at every opportunity. You'll have no regrets.
Great museum. Lots of historical art pieces and lots of variety. Really liked the art about injustice and racial tension. It's real. Love it.
Very interesting arts and high quality arts... Enjoyed very much!
If you love theater the arts music culture and museums this is a place you would want to visit while in Atlanta.
The Museum of Arts was awesome. A great way to spend a few hours. My wife LOVED it. The center has a lovely courtyard area in the middle of the surrounding buildings, great for stepping outside to get fresh air and letting the kids run around for a few minutes. They had kid activities in the courtyard. They had a few food options as well.
Great staff, great content and programming. If there's a knock, it is the limited street parking available. Sometimes i would rather not pay for parking. That said, of course, ride sharing is available and the Arts Center MARTA rail station connects to campus. Walkable area so it's possible to grab some food or a drink off campus if so moved.
A nice program by MODA but the Hill Auditorium needs a refurb
I love coming here for the symphony or to the High. It is a great experience.
Wonderful, family friendly Arts Center in the heart of Midtown. Home to great art, such as the Alliance Theatre, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and the High Museum of Art. Every Sunday they offer free family programming too!
Went with my granddaughter and great grands. They all enjoyed this version.
Family free day is a great opportunity to get the kids interested in what museums offer. Don't forget to get each child free SmArtbox for future visits!
I always enjoy this place. The orchestra is magnificent to listen to. The sound in the auditorium is lovely.
We were at the symphony hall and a couple things were irritating about this venue. Go inside after tickets are scanned, and there are no bathrooms! Go back out, find bathroom 50 yards away and there are only five stalls in the bathroom for 1000 women? Second of all, there is no center aisle to this place so people have to trip over each other to get to their seats from aisles on each end of the seats. Who planned this place?
One of the great Atlanta resources. This and the High Museum are well worth the membership fees. Go as often as possible.
Amazing collection of European art and African art. Only had time to do High museum, so much to see.
It took me a long time to make it here. After 7 years, I finally made it. Amazing museum. Can't recommend the Yoyoi Kusama exhibit highly enough. Go here!
Amazing amazing show! Maybe Happy ending was a great story line about how computers can never replace real human emotions.
WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE. CAN'T WAIT TO GET BACK
8TH GRADE 8A/B ORCHESTRA. FIELD TRIP WITH DULUTH MIDDLE SCHOOL, IN DULUTH,GA
Great space to be on a lovely day. Sit outside, see art, get food, play a piano...
Stunning musicianship, beautiful facilities, incredible sound and helpful, friendly staff
We have been season ticket holders for 25 years. The plays are always expertly produced and they choose interesting Scripps.
Nice grounds... But the museums were closed even though... GOOGLE SAID Woodruff Arts Center was OPEN till 8pm. :/
I always have a lovely time at The Woodruff Arts Center.
It was crowded today but otherwise a nice time winding through the galleries
This is a very artsy place set up for memorable events. Very very nice! ! !
We are very fortunate to have such a nice venue in Atlanta, with a great lineup of concerts to attend!
History and art combined for a stupendous experience. I really need to make this something I do multiple times a year.
Really enjoyed my experience at Woodeuff Arts Center. Parking is a bit expensive but I guess they justify that by having so much to do while you are there. Great coffee shop! Loved going to the theatre.
It's an awesome place to visit if you are in the Atlanta area. Great for Art lovers.
always good to go and see. lovely live music you can hear.
I saw an outstanding collection of impressionist works and some fine modern works in a superior setting.
Lovely venue for an outstanding concert, Jennifer Nettles and the ASO. Took off a star though. Was surprised that ushers allowed people to go to their seats in the middle of a piece. Very disturbing to those who were in their seats on time.
The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and courteous. So many amazing art pieces. I was delighted at the quality, quantity and variety of the art on display. There was so much culture and history to soak in. The children's section was very welcoming and fun.
Such good spaces at the center. Can't wait to see the newly renovated Alliance Theater when it opens next month.
Amazing place! I was there for a book launch and the whole experience was made better by the ambiance of the building.
Can't say enough good things! Woodruff offers Free Family Sunday events with musical guests, yoga, crafts, songs dance. Keep an eye out for free tickets for ASO kids programs. Volunteers are wonderful. Great way to spend an afternoon, inside, outside, with the family, enjoying music and art. Couldn't ask for more!
My favorite place. You can go on the first Saturday and Sunday of the month for free with a bank of America debit card. The only part that sucks is the fact that they hike up the parking to 18 bucks.
SO many wonderful options in this Arts complex, and with the renovation of Alliance Theatre, it becomes even better. Right on the MARTA line, and on site parking as well. I have always enjoyed my numerous visits here, and I'm not even from Georgia. Go, and have a great time with the Arts provided in Atlanta.
We were here for the symphony. The acoustics were excellent. The facility is nice and it was very clean. The comfort of the seats was just okay. The elevators for the parking garages are dreadfully slow, but parking garage "A" was easy to navigate through and get in and out of spots.
Enjoying the RCA class of 2019. The venue was great with the acoustics. Parking downtown always sucks.
Great area in the middle of Atlanta. Ate and watched the ASO, great time!
An awesome arts center with lots of exhibits that will keep you coming back. Make sure to add to your to visit list while in Atlanta.
Friday Night Jazz @ The High Museum of Art was an entertaining event. It was an eclectic mix of art, music, and people.
Great company! Wonderful personnel! Also, they care about the health and sanitation of their workers and patrons by implementing effective cleaning measures within their facility.
Loved the Tommy Smith exhibit. Too many lines and queues for me.
Amazing part of the whole High Museum, symphony etc. Saw the wonderful Phillips Colection, but always something new happening. Plus the always, everyday cant be beat. Couple super little spots to eat and always love the gift shop...all of them
Phenomenal time attending Family Fun Day at the High Museum!!!
Saw the ASO Harry Potter movie night. Loved it! Beautiful building.
Fairly easy to get to, parking was reasonable for downtown/midtown area, price wise. Well maintained grounds, loads of places to sit for a spell if tired. Interesting pieces, need more than an afternoon visit to see all the pieces. Only drawback, traffic! But that's Atlanta for you. Transit station is directly across the street, so do yourself a favor and use it.
First time visiting the African American exhibit on Sky level. I was intrigued by the collections. We dressed up and enjoyed our night at the museum.
A fantastic blend of cultures and art styles. My son enjoyed the children's room and the temporary 3D molding/printing exhibit. The staff member watching over the African exhibit was the perfect level of friendly. She gave us time to view the exhibits uninterrupted and told my children a few snippets of information to keep them engaged. The smARTbox was a nice bonus.
My favorite place in Atlanta!! The permanent pieces and exhibits are fantastic!! Their staff is top notch! My SO is in a wheelchair due to a hip injury. The staff got us blue wrist bands that allowed us to go a head in line! So sweet. At each room in the Mirrors exhibit the attendants were quick to notice and polite to let the other patrons know what and why they let us go a head.
I recently had the distinct privelidge to visit the High Museum with my sister on her birthday and am compelled to say that this collection rivals any other collection I've ever seen. I was impressed by the depth and diversity of the works of art that are on display. I live in Los Angeles and have been to most of our most renowned museums but the High Museum is equal if not superior to what we have here. I can't wait to return!!!
I really enjoyed my visit here. I would suggest ordering tickets online and going straight to will call when you get there but even if you dont the cashiers work efficiently enough to get the lines down quickly. The museum is huge so wear walking shoes. I loved the European art section. I recommend this for a family outing if you can find the time. Second Sundays are free I believe.
Raise the King at the Alliance was awful! The crossover language was confusing and didn't help the story line at all. The actors yelled their lines instead of speaking. I left at intermission. I've been a season ticket holder for over 20 years and this is the worst play I've seen at The Hertz.
The center is gorgeous
Lovely gift shop
Great experience and outting for date night or something special.
Every second weekend of the month it is free to attend the High Art Museum. There are so many amazing exhibits to enjoy.
Beautiful and modern. Perfect exhibits of different kinds of art.
Amazing facility. Be sure and check out the recently revamped coffee shop on campus, Ovation.
