This is a shot into the dark. I was at the park on 11/4/16 with my now bf and a photographer took a very nice photo from behind of us watching the sunset on the dock, we didn't know he was taking it but he showed us the photo after. Since this was our first date I was too shy to ask for him to forward it to me. We are engaged and I would love if we could find the photographer. If you happen to see this, please like this post or message me through my google account

Nice place to visit for the locals with all sorts of wildlife, from alligators to deers and boars. Lots of birds to see as well.
Enjoyable kayaking in an overall pretty quiet place.
The visit will help you feel like you've arrived back in the middle of nature which is a good thing with the noise of the city you can hear everywhere else around.

It was beautiful, I wanted to canoe but it was way too windy. Still that didn't get in the way of being an extraordinary activity, there is lots of beautiful wildlife and you'll have fun whatever way you decide to visit.

Very nice place for hiking, bicycling, bird watching, and kayking. The visitor center offers an interesting exhibition on the Everglades ecosystems and history. Be sure to bring a bug spray as there are lots of hungry mosquitoes along the Cypress swamp trail.

Bring your mountain or hybrid bikes and bike FOR MILES along the everglades and canal. The most peaceful place around...the path goes up north to the back of Wellington and down south to Alligator Alley...

10 dollars a car. The cyprus tree area in the back of the visitor center is short and I didn't see any animals. The marsh trail is dead in the sun and I didn't see much either, its just flat with some grass and water nothing exciting. And seems to go on forever. On the road you drive on we stopped and saw a mommy alligator with 10 babies. That was great. So really no need to go and pay. For those who want to see more alligators, birds snakes and turtles go to wakodahatchee park. That is free and has a bigger walking path where you see more. I think Loxahatchee would be better for hunters and fishers and those who want to kayak

We ve gone here a couple times with school trips. The staff is very knowledgeable but the choice of activities is somewhat limited. The boardwalk is educational if you have a Ranger with you. The canoe trail 65% fun.

This was a great place to visit to see nature at it's finest, the boardwalk was very enjoyable. Also walked part of the nature trail but did not see as many birds as I thought would be there. Drove out to the boat launch which is nice and saw canoes that they rent. There is a $5.00 charge per car to go into the park.

This is a nature preserve. It is great for bird watching and general nature activities. Check out the exhibits and gift shop in the visitor center. They have a boardwalk through a Cyprus wetland that is also very worthwhile. They also have a boat launch and canoeing. For newbees, the wildlife viewing is usually better around sunrise and sunset.

We have been looking forward to our kayaking experience at Loxahatchee. We went on Jan. 4th, 2015. We were very disappointed. Saw 4 birds, 5 lily pads flowers, & millions of lily pads filling the kayak trail. At the last mile we spotted an alligator sunning himself. The highlight of the trip. We did get a good workout padding thru those lily though. Hopefully next time we'll see more wild life.

This is a beautiful and historic place. It has lots of great walking and biking trails as well as some of the best Kayaking through Cypress Swamps in South Florida. Lots of wildlife with Deer, Turkeys, Birds, Alligators etc... I very highly recommend you visit.

A bit of the Everglades directly next to existing civilization aka 441and Benders. The volunteers are extremely warm and friendly which leads to this being a personable and tranquil experience. First time seeing gators up close and personal!

I had an amazing time at this Wildlife Refuge! I saw many birds , alligators, mammals and insects. It is a must to see for Nature Lovers !! The trails were nice with lots of signs/information. It was great to see all the beautiful vegetation. The entrance fee was very cheap (but only cash) I would definitely go back there some day ;)
