Wonderful nature boardwalk. The way Florida might have once looked.
Beautiful scenery and wildlife. There are also some really nice hiking trails and levy bike path right on the Everglades.
Great place to hike, bird watch and see other wildlife.
It's Florida raw nature..... Beautiful scenery and plenty of spots to fish and frog!!!
Wonderful place to visit great for kids awesome wildlife
Amazing place! I saw an abundance of wildlife in a very short amount of time. Great for birding and wildlife photography. Just watch where you step, because there are ant piles scattered around (I learned the hard way lol)
We go often. Beautiful park and well maintained. Love the staff. Lots to explore - a place you visit again and again.
Lots of great photo opportunities if you like photographing Mother Nature.
Great fishing, fresh air and plenty of hiking and biking trails.
Bring your small boat or rent a canoe/kayak!
My only complaint, it's about time they fix that fishing pier :)
Great swamp habitat, excellent location to visit if you're a bird watcher. Overall good place spend a Saturday evening at.
Always see wildlife out here .. yes I do mean Gators
Nice walk into sanctuary. No gators in middle of day
One of our favorite places to catch a sunset! The cypress swamp seems miles away from civilization! Great welcome center, with interactive displays.
We were several times on vacation in Florida. This time (end of December) we were in Florida with one particular goal- to take a look on adult communities. I did not see before so many happy adult people. It is amazing. But I d like to talk about other things. If you will remove from the list of attractions restaurants, very expensive houses in Miami, nice beaches on the East, warm Atlantic Ocean and entertainment for kids, the rest of the list will be very short. At least for me. I like nature and motion, and in Florida you will not find Canyon or real forest. But we found something amazing. I d like to share my experience about visiting Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge. It is very special place. You will stop by Visitor Center. Nice and knowledgeable ranger will inform you about park, you will receive a map and probably you will want to donate several dollars to the park. Do not hold back, the park costs your donation. Behind the rest room you will find the entrance to Florida Cypress swamp. The Inhabitants changed all parts of the Florida and only here and in several places more you can see mysterious forest from past times. Special wood walkways was built above the swamp, there are a lot of notes with information about trees and other plants. If the visitors will be quiet enough you will see and hear the birds. After walk under the swamp you can go in other parts of the park. I recommend you take a walk for at least 2 hours: you will see a lot of different ducks, turtles, birds, butterflies and alligators (crocodiles?). We were in the park out of the season, there were only 4-7 cars on the parking lot, and it was warm and quiet. There are several places where you can sit down and relax. We got our sandwiches and looked at the white heron sitting under the sun on the summit of the very high tree. It was one of the best moments in our Florida visit. You will not bored in this place
No Park Rangers forcing parking rules. People parking wherever they want in front of boat ramps and parking where permitted truck and trailers are supposed to park.
Its a very lovely place to visit. The boardwalk is my favorite place to walk when I'm there
Great place to take the kids for a few hours of nature fun.
Always great to visit. It was hot. Saw aligators and birds. Kids were catching fish on dock.
During this time of social distancing, this a great location to get outdoors safely. You can see wild birds and an occasional alligator in the water. Sunset viewing is a plus.
Beautiful Wildlife Refuge in South Florida with so much to offer. Great for a day trip if staying in Delray Beach or Fort Lauderdale and perfect for locals too! The trails are a lot of fun and there is some amazing wild life to see, just don t get too close! #florida #wildlife #visitorcenter #alligators #everglades #wilderness #snakes #ibis #trails #fun #family #wetlands #ecosystem
Great place to get up close and personal with nature!
A very good place to experience wildlife in its own environment, easily walkable, the cost of $10 US/day and $25 US/year is great value anywhere. If you like nature at all this is a must visit.
Open long hours. Lots of areas to walk. Tons of wildlife.
Beautiful place to hike but mosquitoes were swarming.
A rare gem in the area for natural lovers; well maintained, serene and just beautiful nature. Visitor Center is quite nice for young and old.
The area around the visitors center is very nice walk with great views of swamp land, honestly some of the best I have seen. Once you leave the starter area though there is not much to see it's all manicured and looks nothing like swamp unfortunately. The area around the visitor center is a good place to spend 30 mins to an hour though.
Beautiful, the canoe trail was packed with Gators, gorgeous birds. The canopied nature walk at the visitors center is a quick 10 min walk through the swamps on an elevated boardwalk. Definitely go.
Cypress swamp is a little bit of the original environment between Okeechobee and Ft Lauderdale, preserved for all. Accessible via boardwalk.
Great that some of Florida's natural beauty and ecology is being preserved in a way that people can enjoy it. Thank you.
I have a video of my pov walking the boardwalk and I refer to it more than what's healthy.
Great place to spend your time with family and friends. I really recommend this park to biking and walks.
Nice, relaxing walk. Lots of shade, not crowded at all.
Sunset in the swamp grass at Arthur Marshall painted in pastels
Easy access, friendly staff, plenty of room to walk and explore.
This gives you a real idea of what the Everglades is like and it is only a short drive from Boynton Beach. The Everglades may look swampy and appear somewhat boring until you take the time to appreciate the incredible biodiversity is involved. Loxahatchee gives you the chance to appreciate all that the Everglades has to offer.
This place is so beautiful. You are likely to see some gators down by the boat ramps. My family loves coming here. Just be cautious of the wildlife. Good fishing spot too.
I love this park I've been coming here with my family since I was a little girl . It's a great place to see all of Florida's wildlife I'm rarely disappointed
Rent a canoe, bring your bike, or just go for a nice hike with the kids. Lots of critters to view. From Gators to painted Buntings. This is the place to view a beautiful sunset.
Fantastic place to see American alligator. You learn the difference between alligator and crocodile. You can visit the little information center and the walk to the trails where, if you'll be lucky enough to catch one or two alligators baking in the sun. A nice place to visit.
Fantastic place to see the American alligator. You learn the difference between the alligator and the crocodile. You can visit the small information center and walk the trails where, if you are lucky, you will see one or two alligators being cooked in the sun. A nice place to visit.
I love this place. I run the trails and go to take pictures. All the pics posted are by me. I always see gators and wildlife. Highly recommend.
Nice Everglades experience in Palm Beach's backyard.
We canoed in the Everglades and saw three Gators one was about a foot from the front of the canoe that scared the s*** out of Makenzie LOL.
Great Place. Good walking trails, amazing view and lots of wildlife to see.
We Saw snakes, raccoons, lots of birds, grasshoppers, and alligators
So much fun for all the family. We went when it was really hot outside but we got to see a lot of gators. The visitor center was well constructed.
Nature preserve, gators, iguanas, birds, you can rent canoes, kyacking , walk among cypress forests
A great National Wildlife Refuge conveniently located right off of US-441 in Western Boynton Beach. The nature center offers a great amount of information and friendly staff as well as a nice gift shop. There is an easy access boardwalk and a plenitude of non-paved paths to spend several hours and days observing wildlife, such as alligators, turtles, and a variety of birds.
Beautiful place. Book one of the tram tours for a guided informative experience.
Wonderful boardwalk and variety of plants etc, don't miss the walk along the canal for gators.
We got to see George L. and one of the smaller alligators twice. Lots of people are fishing and it seems that the gators will come by any catch and see if it is worth their time to grab it before you do!
Canoes were available for rent, but we walked around and took the dirt road along the side of the water. Lots to see, if we would have brought more water with us it would ve been a great time to get out on the boats. Speaking to folks, there are so many bass this time of year he was pulling in 10 to 20 per hour on a regular basis.
Gorgeous park that is the perfect spot for a nature walk. The sounds of birds in the trees, woodpeckers overhead. The nuances of nature, being outside, taking in the sights, being utterly immersed in a world we are not commonly used to. There is also the rare chance of spotting a gator relaxing just beneath the boardwalk or off to the side taking in sun. Nature is one of Florida's best attributes, and it does the body good to explore it and appreciate it.
Been coming since I was 12 , now privilege to bring my 2 daughters
Nice retreat to view the Everglades. Great sunset views as well.
Great place for a short hike or to go for a bike ride. We enjoyed the marsh trail and especially the observation tower, which has a great binocular available to use free of charge. It was only about a 10 minute walk from the parking lot.
First time there today saw an alligator, 4 deer and what appeared to be an eagle...plus loads of huge lizards that were orange and green.
Awesome well kept trails and i always see something new
I love every minute in the midst of nature. place full of wildlife and a lot of whim of those who frequent and take care of the environment.
you are charged a fee of only $ 5 per car per day or $ 20 per year! it's very worth it!
I run here at least 4 times a week. See deers everytime but that just my luck.
Fun, bring a hat and some bug spray. The docents at the visitor center are very knowledgeable
Great place to catch sunsets. One overlook ramp/boardwalk is still closed but there's a taller lookout that is open.
The guide at the visitor center drew us a map to help us find alligators - we wound up seeing a mother with twelve babies based on his tip. The boardwalks were pretty awesome; it was really a great park.
It's great to be able to get out into what feels so immersive in nature. You're not too far from 441, so not far from civilization, but it feels like you're far I to the FL wilderness. I've seen snakes, alligators, birds of all kind and color, deer, rabbit, hogs and raccoons. Safe to say wildlife is abundant. It's a great bike ride, great walk and there's canoes available for rent as well.
Awesome place to kayak! Tons of wild life. So grab your camera and spend a few hours on the water or just walking around.
Fun nature center, saw 6 gators, renting canoe was easy.
Great cypress boardwalk. Lots of birds, turtles and alligators
Great for biking, kayaking, camping. Excellent nature center, butterfly garden, people! Tons of information on this precious ecosystem. Full Moon canoe tour was super interesting! Wildlife is great. This is a must visit! Only place on earth like it!
This place is awesome I even took a picture of slenderman an when he saw the flash he was dead
