It's fun to walk the bugs but not a lot of wildlife this visit
Beautiful wildlife refuge! Great place to spot birds and alligators!
Is an amazing spot to see wildlife, but you also need to be prepared for mosquitos. And if you get lucky you can see alligators
We enjoyed a 3.5 hour self guided kayaking tour. Just becareful not to get a leaky kayak.
When I wanna relax I go here. However in the summertime the mosquitoes are a pain.
Very nice place to walk around with friends and family. Next time I'm going to take a canoe for sure! It looks like fun!
Drive all the way here to walk dog then find out $10 entrance fee
I was hearing random gunfire while leaving but other than that the experience was nice and calm, as I would advise with any park in Florida with swamp area is bug spray. If only they would provide it that would be nice. Still very nice open area with trails
One of my favorite places to enjoy the splendid south Florida sunsets, enjoy nature, and seeing various birds and of course alligators.
Long trails, nothin spectacular... but good long trails!
Stopped in for first visit a week ago; Walked the Cedar Swamp boardwalk into to the magic cedar kingdom. The strong winds and the filtered light kept a constantly changing dance of the swaying cedars. Saw two young artists putting paint on canvas to capture the scene.
Spent time afterwards watching Ospreys floating and circling over the windswept(20kts) landscape. Magnificent Great Blue Heron among the reeds. Enjoyed the virtual air boat tour in the Visitor Center. Worth a return visit!
Early morning sighting 6 deer, a couple snail kites and a family of sandhill cranes!
My family owns a house in Boca Raton. It has become tradition for us to visit the wildlife refuge every year during the Christmas holidays. It's a great park showing the landscape and scenery of the Everglades. The refuge is clean and full of great animals and plants.
Beautiful and surprising place. Go to the lookout and watch the sunset!
Beautiful and restful retreat from civilization, and yet so close.
This place is a great place to see a few gators while walking around. There are also armadillos and we saw a bobcat once. Be sure to go down to the wooden dock and see if Big George is around!
Nice area to see gators, birds and turtles. You can rent canoes or kayaks.
This place is so close to home and not many people go visit the sights. The displays inside are excellent. $10 bucks for a whole car. What a deal!
This is a great place to see wildlife close to the city.
The REAL Florida! Highly recommend if you enjoy the great outdoors.
Beautiful place to walk, in the morning the landscape, the flowers and the animals brighten the day. Clean and easy to get to.
Took my kayak here. It was great. Very peaceful and lots of wildlife including gators
Beautiful, peaceful, quiet place in nature. Many trails for walking, jogging, biking and kayaking.
Wonderful place, huge area great to explore with a lot of wildlife. You can go and easily spend a pleasant day outdoors.
Fun tram ride. Lots of info. Cool little visitors center.
Had a lovely stroll through this amazing wetlands. From the Spanish moss draping nearly every tree to the wild orchids that attached themselves to the tree's bark, I enjoyed my walk. At the end of the park is an area you can park your car and walk up the berm. It's an easy slope and once up there, the everglades abound. While we didn't see much wildlife, we did get a glimpse of a very fat raccoon and a few large birds.
I'd go back. Entry was free but it appears they probably charge on the weekends.
Solid national park. Lots of place to view wildlife, walk, Nike, hunt fish, etc. Worth a visit.
Excellent place to go with family, the entrance fee is $5 per car. You can book in the Visitor Center a free trip to the wild reserve and the tour takes around 1 hour 30 minutes. Recomended 1000%
Interesting if you like birds. Did not spot any allegations which was the primary mission
Great place to go bird-watching and look at the huge lubber grasshoppers.there is endless bike riding if you are able to ride over crushed gravel. Canoe and kayak rental is available. Do be a good sport, pay the $5 entrance fee on the honor system if you arrive after the gate is closed. We need to give our parks all the help we can
Calm waters and natural scenery. Very calming and you see a very large diversity of wildlife.
Beautiful place. Quiet except for animal sounds. People who work there are very friendly. A must see.
Such a fun place to see Gators and wildlife! Saw about 5 in the span of 10 minutes
Recommend this nature area to get an up close look at the cypress forest and everglades. Beautiful!
Great place to take anyone for a first hand Everglades experience
We had the most amazing time with our guide. This refuge is exceptional and we highly recommed anyone who is interested in wildlife to visit this refuge.
Saw an alligator in the small tower in the Marsh trail and farther down we saw two bunny's. The people at the visitor center we're very nice and helpful. It costs $10 per vehicle no matter how many people and $25 for a yearly pass. They only take cash so have some on you. I recommend you asking for their binoculars before the visitor center closes at 4:00. Close to the park there's Bedner's Farm Fresh Market that is also an enjoyable place. Ate a delicious Jumbo turkey leg for $8. There is a little clothes shop that is very easy to see, they sell really nice things I recommend you go there. Overall everything was a wonderful experience definitely worth it.
Excellent wildlife preserve. Be prepared to walk a lot. Most natural setting I have encountered so far in Florida. Few amenities is the reason I rated 3 stars. But for natural setting it's 5.
One of the best places to see the animals and the greatest sunsets to take photos.
Great place to do or see what you like in the water. Great fishing . Happy Gators.. may be some unhappy people but I didnt see them
A Very picturesque wetlands make sure you use bug spray before walking around mosquitoes are crazy there!
It was a journey into the everglades on a smaller scale. Yet beautiful in its own way!
Nice place, good encounter with nature. Bunch of birds to take picts. I liked it a lot!
It was nice, peaceful. Didn't see many animals but it was a nice walk. The wasp nests (there are so many!) need to be cleaned out from where people walk by. And just watch your head, for low hanging spiders (some of which are beautiful!).
Great Rangers willing to show or tell you about the Everglades. Multiple nature trails with great birdwatching. Awesome canoe trail.
Love it! Such a peaceful place. The view of the everglades is beautiful and the wildlife is very active. We've been coming here for like 18 year (god that makes me feel old lol). Whenever we have family from out of state this is always on our itinerary.
A good overview of the Everglades, walking tour through a primeval forest.
Had a great time here with family. Went canoeing though the everglades and felt the peacefulness of the waters and environment.
Can't wait till the new pier is done. Love this quite little place full of wildlife!
Great wildlife refuge. Plenty of places to walk through. Tons of birds and Gators. Great visitor center. Well worth a visit.
One of my favorite parks! It's such a beautiful place
Nice place for a walk in nature the museum was closed because we got there late and we did not have the guide but it was really nice
What an amazing place to visit. The nature center inside is beautifully set up. The trails are beautifully maintained and the staff is extremely knowledgeable. The energy fee is only $5 and you can spend and entire day and evening being one with nature. From butterflies to alligators to bobcat sightings... it was thrilling.
One of my special zen places where one can commune with nature.
Always catch fish when we go. It's our favorite spot too go fresh water fishing! The museum is kinda small but really interesting. Our 4 year old was kept busy for an hour, and loved the "airboat ride"
I love this place, I've been coming here for years. The visitors center has some fun activities but the main draw is the boardwalk through the swamp. It's the right just past the entrance.
This park has several wildlife observation areas that are covered and overlook the Everglades. There is parking adjacent to these areas. It was perfect for showing my elderly parents an alligator in the wild and for bird watching. There are walking trails and a dock where we saw a fisherman bring in a huge "mud fish" (as they called it). There is also a visitor's center with a board walk that meanders thru a Cypress swamp. It is beautiful with trees draped in Spanish Moss. Be sure to bring bug spray.
Good morning for photo ops if you know where to look. Rest rooms locked due to shut down.
Very close to wildlife and birds' nests. Highly recommend. Arrive early as the parking lots do fill up.
Love this area. They have a boardwalk path through a cypress forest that is absolutely amazing. There are other nature trails where you can go walk and observe nature, including a viewing tower. They have kayak and canoe trips, or you can go around on your bicycle.
Didn't go there to see lots of animals but there are some if you are careful
otherwise great oxygenating ride
