Excellent location, a few minutes walk from the train station. Polite and helpful staff. The rooms were very clean. Not a big variety on the breakfast but it seems they are focusing on quality rather than quantity.

The location is great! The breakfast and room service is not so good. We ordered breakfast room service one night by placing the card on the door which they never came and picked up. After placing a complaint with management, they fixed it and has us breakfast within a few minutes. The next day we did it again and they picked up the card and brought the food a little late than requested and it was cold. However, staff is very friendly and helpful and the beds were comfy. We slept better here than we did at a 5 star hotel in London.

I was in his restaurant .... They go from "modern" music too loud while dinner ... you have to talk loudly! The meal took a lot: 45 minutes. Expensive prices although the food is good. But when I go to eat I'm not going to have a hard time .... !!!

Food quality terrible. Some of the staff need to be better trained, we had 2 separate people walk straight into our room whilst we were relaxing in bed. First person didn't bother to knock, the second person knocked as he walked in. Had to be moved twice, once due to trams shaking the room, second time from the 2nd to 4th floor due to noise from the club downstairs. We could still hear club from 4th floor and had to ring down to complain again at 1am. Nothing separating toilet from the main room (no door, no sliding door, no seperator) so you may as well be doing a number 2 in the corner of the bedroom!! (Disgusting). Will never recommend this place or stay here again myself.

Horrible breakfast with a lack of variety and poor quality food !!
The cleaning service had not cleaned the rooms until late in the afternoon - they came after we requested it!
Beautiful rooms, central location. Polite personnel
Overall bad image for a five star hotel.

Hotel is in very good location, right across central station and close to shopping district and dam square. Hotel is decorated with modern art pieces and in its basment has gallery of Beatles. Lobby is really good place to chill and they even provide options of book to read (of course not everyone cup of tea if you are in Amsterdam) but still little nice touch makes thing better. The only disappointing thing to point out is that cleaning of the room, which as a five star hotel as they claim, it is a bit odd for me to see crack and stained bathroom sink and bathroom floor, dusty vase on the counter of bathroom sink. Other than that we had a good time there.

Very expensive and meticulously maintained. Employees at the reception shot paranoid glances to me and my colleagues more than once. Were we discriminated based on the outfit? I'll never know.

One of the best hotel's I've stayed in. I would highly recommend this hotel. Attention to detail is always nice to see. Arrived at 11:00 but check in isn't until 14:00. They stored our bags while we went exploring. They sent me a text at noon to say the room was ready and could check in now at no extra cost. Very good service, very clean hotel and good size rooms. Would definitely come back.

Good breakfast, very friendly front desk staff.. The breakfast team seems a bit tense ? :)
Good room amenities. Nice toiletries.
As for cleanliness: Rooms are clean on the surface ... Try wiping your fingers on the upper shelves, though; the dust that dates back to when the hotel was built (perhaps??!) still remains. So, yes, room cleanliness is a problem.
Lack of a wardrobe in the rooms is a problem.
So is the fact that the shower wall is actually a see-through window an issue, if you are sharing the room with a colleague.
The gym, is a somewhat of disaster a. Photos on the website different than reality. Very few equipment, some free weights and two benches. All very old-school.
Of the two treadmills, one works.
The problem is compounded by the fact that the gym is shared by the neighboring hotel so, it does get crowded.
Bottomline: they gym needs a major overhaul.

Very nice hotel located only minutes from the train station. Beautiful room. The service from the staff could be better. Especially the bar, who are sometime more busy doing privat things than looking to their customers. Also that you need to order what you want for breakfast from a menu, is annoying and takes too long. I want a hotel with a buffet when I stay at a hotel.

A very nice hotel with super friendly staff. I slept with 3 friends for a night, but in addition to shopping in Amsterdam we had a great time in the hotel itself, with a sauna, swimming pool afterwards before we got a nice cocktail drink. The breakfast is also delicious especially the omelet with ham.

The prices in the hotel were lower than the booking programs offered, in fact I was offered two numbers from 69 to 89 euros, and not like on a booking of 99 euros. Hotel in the center, overlooking the canal,

Hotel located in a central area of Amsterdam (in front of the central station and the main attractions of the city). Very elegant and at the same time modern, the only flaw is the dozens of statues that put a little anxiety giving the hotel that slightly dark appearance.
Beautiful room, equipped with all comforts or almost. There was no wardrobe to place the clothes, so much so that I had to open the ironing board in order to put them there. The first day, after cleaning the room, the maid made our bathrobes disappear. The bathroom lacks a cup brush. For the rest very comfortable beds and always very clean room.
The hotel has a swimming pool equipped with a sauna, however, located in a very uncomfortable area (you have to go through the middle of the restaurant). It would have been much more intelligent to reserve dedicated access.
The breakfast buffet was very good, nice also the bar where you can eat some snacks and have an aperitif, with DJ set.
Definitely a hotel that I will recommend, although more than 5 stars it seemed an excellent 4.

LOVED this hotel! I would describe it as an upscale, artsy, boutique hotel. We had a standard room and it was spacious, very clean, large bathroom with separate toilet and shower, a lot in-room amenities/toiletries, plush towels and turndown service. Within walking distance to many restaurants, shopping, the train station and sightseeing tour offices. All the staff was wonderful and extremely helpful. There is an indoor pool and fitness area open til 11p, and a bar and restaurant. We did not eat in the restaurant but had drinks in the bar and they were extremely reasonable in price! There is also a small art gallery (exhibits change every few months) and sculptures and artwork throughout the hotel. The only negative would be the soundproofing. We could hear people in the hall and above us. However, we had previously stayed at the Sofitel Grand and although that hotel is also deluxe with a classic feel we will choose the art'otel again for our next visit!

Tastefully done interiors with quirky twists, great rooms and a location that should please seasoned travellers, what with Central Station and Gauchos both a stone's throw away. Could do without the loud-ish music in the lobby and other common areas, but it lends to the overall ambience.

The Art'otel was an excellent choice for our friends stag do in Amsterdam. Although we stayed just 1 night, we were really impressed with the service leading to and during our short stay. Would definitely recommend it to others. The bathrooms are well designed and very spacious. The bar area has a cosy feel and stylish and the breakfast is delicious. You can also rent bicycles from the front desk. Thanks

Beautiful rooms, an interesting lobby, exceptional service (Davide is the best!) and a perfect location, could not have raved about this place more. It was a bit on the pricey side for us, so we only stayed one night, but since we got in at 5am, it felt like more. Knowing we'd just gotten off an overseas fight, they got us a room ready three hours before check in time, which was a godsend for weary travelers. The room service food was tasty, and portions were huge; each enteee easily fed two, and we ordered two plus an appetizer. We couldn't finish!

The location is great. You get off at the central station in Amsterdam and walk for 5 min to get there. The service could be better - front desk folks, you know you can smile. The customers you face have planned the trip and traveled long hours to visit your city.

This was my first time here for the "you can sit with us" brunch and I will defenitly will come back. Beautiful modern place, good food and quality service, you don't get that everywhere. Please keep up the good work!
