The cabin was a good size, we could easily fit 10 people in the 3 bedrooms. The beach was kinda small, but other activities made up for what it lacked (like volleyball, mini-golf, basketball, tennis, etc.)

Overall it is a nice place, good food/service, no major complaints other than the water park area being so cold. As an adult I was very cold and it was freezing for little kids. My husband also said the hot tub was not hot, just warm.
The stay was amazing. The rooms were very kept well and I enjoyed the plethora of activities and the lake view. I would most definitely recommend this resort to family/friends
Rating based solely on a wedding I attended there. The building or something was struck by lighting, so things were running off a generator, and I get the fact that mother nature happens, but the resort didn't do anything to make the wedding a success. It was SOOO HOT and miserable. They could have had fans, ice cold bottles of water, portable AC units, a second cash bar for drinks, SOMETHING!!! Based on that, I was not impressed, and feel terrible for the almost 400 guests that were in attendance.
Went there for the marina. Rented kayaks for an hour. Decent rate. One star off for condition of kayak, the seat back had no support on the two man kayak.
Rooms were ok, overpriced for the quality and experience in my opinion. The bathroom design is cramped. Do not come here for a relaxing weekend. If you have kids there's lots to do here. If you don't have kids, don't expect much sleep. I stayed in the hotel with kids screaming running down the hallway at all hours, but the cottages may have been more relaxing. Checked out the lounge which was a cozy atmosphere, great service, and large portions of bar fare, but the alcohol options were very limited. One last thing if you come here during the winter, it's not a sledding hill as led to believe by their pictures as much as you can sled into a ditch. Overall very disappointed, but I could see the appeal to families with young children.
Save your money. The thermostat on the heater either gave you the option for your room to be freezing cold or so hot you can't stand it. There was no comfortable setting. The internet sucks. Fridge had black mold inside. Truly disappointed.
Been here a few times. Each time is a worse experience. This time the pool got all dirty and mucky somehow. They shut down the pool as they should but I had paid for that as part of my stay... wife made the reservations and that seemed like a mini-nightmare. Yes we have rooms, no we don't, call back tomorrow and get different answers. People were promised an early arrival, we got in hours before them and we just arrived at a normal check in time and got in 90 minutes later.
I had a conference at Arrowwood and was very impressed with the nice location and facilities. Very good food with a nice morning breakfast. Staff very helpful and friendly.
A great place for family or friends to gather, very spacious rooms. We were here for a work retreat. The space was nice, the food was incredible! And the property is very beautiful. We didn't use the water park this time, but have in the past and it is a nice family weekend. They also have townhouses and small houses on the property that I look forward to using in the future!
Stayed here for the weekend. It was a nice little getaway! The water park area is awesome! My only complaint is that the room was cold upon entering, but we turned the heat on and went swimming and all was good.
3-4 years ago, we went there, and decided to go there again this year. Our room was 1st level, which felt a bit damped (understandable). The food was good, and could not ask for a better location for water access. Most of the staff were friendly......I would have given at least a 4 star until this morning (9/2/2018) before checking out. We planned to have brunch this morning, and got in front of the restaurant at 9.15am, and it was packed. Knowing that we had to wait for a while for the brunch, I decided to approach the front door lady. When I was walking toward her, she looked at me with this unfriendly face. I said 'HI with a smile', and no response from her, except an unfriendly face. I proceeded to ask her, if it is OK, just in case, to check out just a bit late, may be like 15-20 mins late because as you can see (I said), there is a long line for the brunch. And this is EXACTLY what she said to me (with an even more unfriendly face!).... 'YOU NEED TO BE OUT BY 11'. That was it...a one liner from her. Being a business owner, and used to work in a restaurant, i know how important customer service is.....but with this kind of treatment from her just made me mad! We ended up checking out just before 11am........and guess what, when it was my turn to check out, it was the mean lady again! Since I did not want to deal with her, I let people behind me to move forward, and I was able to be checked out by another lady. Well, if you go there, I hope you won't have to deal with this not nice lady....short hair and may be in the 50's ?
I'm not sure where to begin... brought my family to Arrowood deck for a meal. I had 5 adults and 2 kids. The ONLY People that were happy with their meals were the children. Ordered taco salad and there was no lettuce, it was nachos. Complained and the waitress said she would bring lettuce which never arrived! Another salad was ordered and I could have gotten a better salad at mcdonalds! Less than fresh everything. Order #3 was a fish basket. One piece of under cooked soggy fish broke in half and served cold. #4 was a shrimp sandwich and it was also cold. Last order was a $15.99 BURGER. under cooked and the mushrooms were raw. Served with limp and cold fries. Ewe. So as you can read it was awful.
Fantastic! No, it is not a brand new facility and all those HATERS saying "it's run down and old" need to get a grip! It's a beautiful resort on an even more beautiful lake that is 2nd to none. Water clarify has to be 15' or more! We had a great time at (1) the incredible sandy beach (1) outdoor pool (1) indoor pool (1) water park (1) "executive" mini golf (1) paddle boats (1) canoes (1) kayaks (1) tennis (1) basketball (1) shuffle board (1) family games area (1) roasting marshmallows. Did I mention they had an INSANE prime rib breakfast buffet on Sunday morning? Who has that? It was FANTASTIC! Thanks so much and we'll be back! With exception of some drunk naked idiot pounding on our door in the middle of the night it was 100% spot on!
Went just to use the water park on a family get together. The entry fee was a little higher than expected but the park was quite nice with a variety of water experiences for family members of all ages
This place is huge. Be prepared to do a lot of walking in order to get to water park. Kids had fun doing the water slides. Hot tub was warm at best and for 12 and older only. Kids were bummed.
Built into the hillside, the resort has 5 floors of rooms and 3 main buildings all connected together. They are also connected to an indoor water park. Indoor tennis/basketball courts, meeting rooms and executive conference services, fitness center, indoor and outdoor pool, marina with pontoons, ketosis, paddle boats, kayaks, and more. Outside walk path, cabins, recreation center. Inside, they have Rafters restaurant, as well as Lake Cafe. Outside there is the Deck bar and grille. Located on the lake in Alexandria, it's a relatively short drive from the Twin cities. Rooms are spacious, and vary in sizes. It's been a good trip so far, and we're only on day 1.
Water park was warm, hotel staff was friendly and welcoming. Food was fresh and tasty, and room service was quick. Room was clean and well appointed. The pillows were chunky foam and the beds we're very firm, not soft. The arcade games need attention, though, as we had malfunction and take out credits without turning on. Changing room at water park was clean. Riding stables just permanently closed.
Took a quick spring break weekend trip. The water park was great the kids loved it. It was still pretty cold outside so we didn't partake in any of the other amenities.
Great place to vacation with the family. Lots to do and food is good! Service is slow at times but the laid back atmosphere is great for a vacation. The lake it is on,lake darling, is a great lake for fishing and other fun water sports.
I'll start with employees were very friendly and willing to make you happy, everything was clean. Other then that just a hotel with a waterpark. Two centrally located elevators, dark hallways, hard beds, not a USB port to be found in the room, room felt dark, not a working pen, tub was shallow and overflow was slow, you had to get key to get into the fitness center and with all the walking didnt want to go back up to get the key. Free wifi ... but they didnt tell you you didnt need a password. Waterpark could not keep up with towel demand, showers were idk, I didnt get to one due to the line, lockers that did open u couldn't lock, wp was nothing special. I could have spent less money for softer beds, free breakfast, and better overall stay. Not pleased with my choice and wont be staying here again.
Company's Christmas party was held here. The food main course was amazing as it always is. The dessert was what took half a star off. The tables weren't crammed together. The cash bar was exactly that, cash only. There's where the More
Pool and hot tub were dirty and had broken tiles. Pool was very cold. Breakfast was lackluster, food was burned and/or tasted off. Very dark and dated interior. Rooms were very spacious and well cared for by housekeeping.
