Everything & everyone I encountered from my pre-op testing to my overnight stay after my discectomy/laminectomy by Dr Reza Shahim was exceptional. I was very impressed with the care I received and the hospital room was more like a hotel then a hospital. My whole experience could not have been any better & my recovery has been much better than I expected.

Efficient staff at check in. Comfortable reception area Good area for family to snack and weight. Efficient process for surgery prep. Great nursing staff. Good experience overall.

I am a retired advance practice nurse, I was VERY disappointed in the nurse's ability to start an IV..at least 10 attempts left me so bruised I looked like I had been mugged and beaten.

I WAS LEFT FLAT OF MY BACK (without my knees bent) so long that after surgery my back was so sore the pain in my back lasted 12 hours and i could not sleep.. For the surgery on my ARM there was NO REASON why my knees could not have been gatched.

I realize that my medical background makes me a "picky" patient, and maybe non medical patients wouldn't know the care was poor, but if i have to go there again, I will bring someone to start my IV with me.

Was met by a nurse immediately after arriving. This is the second time I have had surgery in this hospital. I have been impressed and treated better here than in other hospital that I have been in. I would recommend this hospital above all in the central Arkansas area, if considering any kind of orthopedic surgery.

I've visited several people at this hospital and am consistently
impressed by the staff, cleanliness and patient care.

My experience at ASH was amazing, from the admittance to the prep and quite frankly I don't remember the after but the follow up was sincere and professional. Surgeries are never looked forward to but in the future if I do require further surgeries I will speak with my doctor about using ASH.

Arkansas Surgical Hospital is Top Notch and he only place my family goes when we need any kind of procedures done!! From the ladies that welcome you at the front desk with there warm and friendly smiles, the nurse that took my blood was a dream, poked me once and didn't feel a thing!! The anesthesiologist was over the top she was very thorough and asked all kinds of questions and took care of all my needs!! I usually wake up with extreme headaches after surgery and she took care of that and prevented any nausea!! Of course the doctor did his job and that went without a hitch! When I woke up the nurse to excellent care of my needs until my pain was under control!

This is my fourth surgery here at Arkansas Surgical and they don't miss a beat! My husband has had two, and my mother has had one!! We wouldn't pick any other hospital!

We found that our visit and stay was thoroughly excellent. The professionalism demonstrated was beyond expectation.
All the persons involved were utmost concerned in our care and well-being.
Could not be more satisfied.

ASH is extremely clean. Nurses listen to you and the doctors are great.

I am VERY DISPLEASED with Arkansas Surgical Hospitals billing department. After getting rear-ended by an uninsured motorist I had a MRI done there. Since they billed my health insurance company instead of my auto insurance there was a portion of the bill not covered. On four different occasion I asked them to supply my auto insurance company with a itemized bill with medical codes. Arkansas Surgical Hospital failed to submit the information to my auto insurance company with the medical codes and each line itemization as requested. I even went as far as going up there in person requesting the document my auto insurance company needs to pay the bill and they still failed to give me everything my auto insurance company needs to audit and pay them. Instead Arkansas Surgical Hospital wants to send me demand letters without itemized line items and harass me ar work over a bill that would of been paid weeks ago had they just supplied my auto insurance company with the requested documentation. All my other doctors and ER at the hospital I went to was able to provide my auto insurance company with the information needed to get paid without harassing me over their poor billing practices. I wouldn't recommend Arkansas Surgical Hospital to anyone because of this.

ASH is a great place to have a procedure done. The staff and nurses are very nice and make you feel comfortable.

I had back surgery at Arkansas Surgical Hospital in January 2014. This was approx. my 5th surgery affecting my back and the BEST of ALL of my hospital experiences. The doctors, nurses, staff, assistants, etc. was exceptional! EVERYONE there (though I was recuperating from surgery and in some pain) did everything possible to make my stay as comfortable and healing as possible.

Three months later, my mother underwent knee replacement surgery at Arkansas Surgical Hospital and was privileged to be on the other side, no longer the patient but part of the family looking in. My mother was treated exceptionally as was I, her guest spending the night with her. This time I got to meet the Physical Therapy staff and they were amazing. Working with her gently but firmly in getting her up to moving and walking with her new knee. Again, I cannot sing the praises of Arkansas Surgical Hospital staff enough.

Thank you so VERY much for the care I received. If I at all possible, I will make Arkansas Surgical my Hospital of choice!

My mom had a cervical fusion by Dr. Brad Thomas on the 17th and stayed overnight there. From the time that we arrived, we received the most amazing care!! From the beautiful prayer that Dr. Thomas said with us before moms surgery, all the way thru to her discharge the next day!! I can not say enough amazing things about this hospital and its staff!!! A special thank you to nurse Brandy, Destiny, techs Nick and Jazmyn, can't remember her techs name from the first day, but she was great also. I know there are others like the hospitalist and the ones who made sure we understood discharge teaching and lady who was from HR that asked about our stay and if there were any suggestions we had to help them better serve us. Our answer of course was NO...because it's hard to improve on near perfection!! Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts!!! The pride you and your employees take in patient care and your hospital is top notch!!! This coming from her daughter who works in the medical field also! I am changing my care to Dr. Thomas and your hospital!!

Had cervical fusion on Tuesday, discharged Wednesday! Staff was courteous, attentive and pleasant. Everyone exceeded my expectation of a hospital experience.

Everyone was very nice and helpful. The check in service was quick and efficient and the pre-op personnel was good. However, my post-op nurse sent me home with the IV connector still in my arm after repeated requests by my daughter to get it taken out and my daughter had to get me dressed.

My experience from preregistration to discharge after my surgery was exceptional. The entire staff was friendly, courteous and made sure me and my family had everything we needed. Thank you so much to Dr. Brad Thomas and everyone at Arkansas Surgical Hospital for a successful surgery and for all the kindness and thoughtfulness shown to me and my family! Hopefully there will be no need for further surgeries but just in case there is, I have no doubt we would all choose Arkansas Surgical Hospital first and foremost! Back in January of 2015 I had hip replacement and the doctors and nurses were great and the service was awesome the best.

Clean, caring facility. Fully recovered and was a good first experience

First time having surgery and the staff made it very easy. From the moment i walked in the door to the moment i walked out they helped me feel comfortable and were very sweet and even made me laugh right before i went in for surgery.

Even though the scheduling was off a bit, Dr. Mason, the nurses, assistants and staff were amazing.

The staff was awesome and Dr jesse Burks is an amazing dr

I had a complete shoulder joint replacement Feb. 10. I could not have found a nicer group of people to care for me, from the front desk to being discharged. Everyone was wonderful and on top of everything. My doctor, Clayton Riley was the best. The rooms are really nice for your family to stay with you. I will have my other shoulder done in the future and I won't even think of looking elsewhere. I had heard so many good reports on ASH. If you have to be in the hospital, this is the place to be.

Very bad experience they wont let you spend anytime with your loved one. They will do everything they can to keep yiu seperated very poor care.

I had a total knee replacement on July 3, 2019 at Arkansas Surgical Hospital performed by Dr. Joel Smith. I could not ask for a better hospital to have surgery or a better doctor to do the surgery. The whole staff at the hospital was professional, passionate and caring as well as Dr. Smith s office staff. I give Dr. Smith and ASH an A+.

As I type this, I am in a hospital bed at Arkansas Surgical Hospital. Over the years I ve had four surgeries here. Bottom line, this facility and staff is in a class by itself. The facility rivals a luxury resort. The staff, from the Administration, Medical staff to Support Staff, are amazing and beyond courteous. No kidding! I, without hesitation, recommend Arkansas Surgical Hospital.

I've had 2 procedures here , I had a back fusion laminectomy first then 8 months later after no good results from that I had a nerve root block killing the nerves causing the pain going down my buttocks and leg , and now 6 months later I'm no better off than before having the procedures. Although these failed I received the best hospital treatment you could ask for here , the people are professional and kind here. Thanks

My grandmas surgery was scheduled for 6:30am we got here right on time, it is now 11:30 am and and they are just now getting her back for her surgery!! Service was good and the employees were nice but the scheduling of appointments definitely needs to be worked on. What was supposed to be an easy 30 minute procedure has turned into a 5 hour and 10 minute process.

Great place and wonderful people. Excellent care and professional work. It was a comfortable environment from the moment I walked in until the moment I rolled out!

From my initial visit to additional testing to surgery, recovery, and discharge... I don't have any complaints. My concerns were set at ease. My questions were answered completely, professionally, and accurately. I was advised as to what to expect from check in all the way through recovery and after and I am completely thankful. I definitely recommend this facility and staff!!!

My experience at ASH was absolutely the best care I have ever received! I didn't wait any longer than 2-3 minutes when pushing the nurse button on my bed before they arrived with a smile on their face waiting to assist me in any way necessary. The food was actually great and I never waited on that either. Very clean and spacious. My mom really enjoyed the "suite" in the room with me but somewhat separate from mine so she could get sleep but still check in on me as well. Overall a fantastic experience if you have to say that about having to have surgery! Great job to Dr. Adametz, his staff, and all of Arkansas Surgical Hospital!

I have had surgery at ASH 5 times plus an additional stay and there is no other place I'd rather be for my procedures. The rooms are fantastic and so is the staff. My last visit was with a hip dislocation (after revision surgery) and not only did they meet me at my car with a wheelchair, they took me straight into a room and even brought the x-ray machine to me to keep me as comfortable as possible. I have had several ER visits over the years and they always start out with a long wait and paperwork but not here. Couldn't ask for more!

This was my second trip to Arkansas Surgical, and I still recieved the same exceptional service as I did the first time! Everyone there is excellent in their job performance and even more important, they are top of the line people. Dr. Allison is a fantastic care provider and ASH is equipped with an awesome staff. The service I received explains why Arkansas Surgical was my first and second and only choice. Thanks to you all!

I had read reviews before having my surgery here at the Surgical Hospital and I have to say that my experience there was better than expected. I have had surgeries at other hospitals, and never before have I gone through such a thorough Pre-Op. I appreciate the kindness and professionalism provided by the Staff.
I was there for a procedure performed by Dr. Dana Abraham. Wonderful doctor!
My only complaint would be that I wish my Post-Op instructions had been a bit more detailed. When I left the hospital, I did not know if I had dissolvable stitches or stitches at all! I learned more about my self-care from a phone conversation with Dr. Abraham's RN, Tommie, than I did from the printed Post-Op instructions, things I wish I had known when I left the hospital. Post-Op verbal instructions were too vague in my opinion.
I would definitely recommend this hospital to anyone wanting excellent care.

My name is Juanita and I was recently a patient at the Arkansas Surgical Hospital to have a lumpectomy performed by Dr. Dana Abraham. I was overwhelmed with the the facility and the spotless environment, but, I was very, very impressed with your professional staff and how I was treated while there. The nurses were so caring and knowledgeable. Wish there were more hospitals like yours.

I had a great experience. More like being in a hotel than a hospital. Wish all hospitals treated patients this way. Thanks for taking such good care of me while I was there.

I had a complete knee replacement ASH. I have to say it was about as good of a hospital experience as you could ask for. All preparation was easy. The staff and nurses took great care of me during my stay. Dr. Kenneth Martin did my surgery . Everything was explained by Him, his staff and the anesthesiologist. All went well and I am on my way to a good recovery. I will recommend ASH to everybody needing surgery.

This is one amazing place! Two surgeries on my back in two years. I can't think of anything i would have wanted different. The rooms are like nice hotels, with plenty of room and places for guests.

My wife stayed with me a few days and she had no problems getting rest. Well, that is unless i was coming to, i'm sure i made a lot of noise once the pain kicked in.

I was told i kept flicking something off my finger that they needed to monitor me with. Every time it would alert the nurses station and they would call the room. I'm sure they wanted to kill me after hours of that (i had no idea and i'm sorry!), however they never let on that it was a problem. I found out when my wife told me, and i'm grateful for their understanding, even though it likely drove them bonkers.

I had the best care ever at this hospital. The staff and dr.s are excellent and so caring. I even have to rave about nurses assistant as also being fantastic . Having a total shoulder replacement there was so easy and I understood everything they told me and what to expect. I appreciate all the staff and dr.s who were with me and got me through my surgery and home again.

I have been telling everyone about Arkansas Surgical Hospital! first of all I'd like to say thank you to the doctors and nurses ! I've had a lot of surgeries and this was the most Fearless One. I had arthroscopic surgery on my knee. I was in a comfortable bed in a very nice hospital gown getting the pre-op done. They even numb the place they're going to give you IV! The nurse said to me I'm going to give you something to calm you down a little bit. Tell her put something in the IV and..... The next thing I knew I was raising up out of my same bed , and the nurse said your surgery is done! This place was so unbelievable!!! I never even knew I left the room! I had no pain whatsoever and no fear whatsoever. They make sure of that! I really wanted to shout it from the rooftops about this Hospital! And here is my chance! I enjoyed having my surgery if that could be possible!! It's been 2 weeks and I can walk perfectly. Thank you for this opportunity to tell the world! I just pray I get to use this Hospital again for my future surgeries! If I had my choice I would never go anyplace else!

I have never had such excellent treatment at any emergency room especially time wise . They were efficient, caring and the Doctor were there emmediately. Cat scans were done and read. Thank you

My mother is here and when I was in the waiting area someone pissed in their nice chairs and of course at of all the chairs to set it I set in that one piss soaked chair. The staff without me asking offered me a room to take a shower and even give me some scrubs for the remainder of the day. They have treated my family as if we were some long lost kinfolks. Caring staff, clean hospital. If I ever need one of the surgeries they offer. I will be coming here. I would give it 100 stars if they would let me.

BILLING. Although I love the physicians I've had, dealing with the facility itself over billing has been and CONTINUES to be a nightmare. The doctor gave me a breakdown of charges, requested it be paid upfront, no surprises. AFTER surgery - I start getting calls that I need to pay full facility balance (didnt even know there'd be one-I had already paid over $1000 to start), or that I'd be turned over to collections EVEN THOUGH I was making regular payments. I called the supervisor - was told it would NOT go to collections as it was her decision what accounts go to collections. NOW my account is in collections, even though ASH is still cashing my checks (pretty sure that's illegal--Fair Debt Collection Act), and this is damaging the credit I've been working so hard to repair this last 3-4 years. It's caused a great deal of unnecessary stress and anger, ALL of which could have been avoided if ARK SURG HOSP has simply followed their own procedures, per their policies and procedures. If you are not TOLD about additional charges, apparently you have to ASK, immediately pay in full, or go to collections. So much for that house I was going to build this year. Thanks Arkansas Surgical Hospital for causing me so much stress over the past few months - now I get to start repairing my credit again because of money-hungry places like yours. I guess my little $100 a month wasn't enough so I had to go to collections. That's really pathetic and unethical business practice. =(

The staff and the nurses did a great job they were kind and and courteous I would recommend this hospital to anyone and also Dr.shahim did a great job with the procedure he done on me.

Great experience. Prompt and pleasant experience at check-in and to the surgical area. The nursing staff was exceptional. Extremely knowledgable, skilled, friendly and compassionate. They explained everything thoroughly, and sent me home with a helpful instruction sheet.

My stay was very short as I was an out patient. The nurses I had contact with were nice, caring and totally professional. I would certainly not hesitate to use ASH again.

I was very pleased with the care I received at Arkansas surgical hospital Dr Martin and all the staff are wonderful.

i was very pleased with the way they handled everything medically. I had carpel tunnel surgery done. Outpatient surgery total time at the hospital about 3 hours including check in. My bill was $4643.40 before my insurance adjusted it. The base bill from the hospital was $2500. This seems very excessive. After my insurance, which is a high deductible, adjusted the account i still owe $1117.00. I pay my bills, but i was not informed that it was going to be this much. Between the doctor and a hospital visit my total was over $2000. I was there 3 hours or less. I contacted the billing department about the price and was told it is what it is. If you can't afford to pay it we can put you in touch with a bank that will give us our money now and you can make payments to them. I will never use them again and I recommend that everyone get an estimated bill before going here yourselves.

ASH is a wonderful place for surgery. They go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable and well cared for. Everything is explained, all questions answered. I highly recommend Arkansas Surgical Hospital.

Fantastic facility and faculty. Dr Martin is the best knee ortho I have ever seen. Dr. Baskin has excellent bedside manner and is fantastic. Food was excellent and have several choices on the menu.

Perfect conditions, great staff and I had a full recovery!

Had a knee replacement on Friday. Walked on Saturday. Went home on Sunday.

Outstanding nursing care. Excellent pain control. Thorough discharge instructions.

Suites are perfect for family members who wish to stay. Inviting rooms, comfortable beds.

I have had to use this hospital 4 times over the last 20 years. It's clean, the people are friendly and helpful. I've never had a "bad" experience here.

Everything went well until my tray arrived following surgery. I had to be incubated, so my throat was still raw and I was given a turkey sandwich on Toasted Texas bread with lettuce. The last day of my service somebody was ask to come and talk to us. He could not understand how I could be unhappy about my personally paired sandwich, So the next morning the bacon was tough and the eggs were dry.
I would like to thank all the nurses and doctors for the care I was given, Overall I would say it was a good stay. 3 other operations and stays well great.

I had a great experience at ASH. I would recommend this hospital to everyone. Room and food was great. The nurses and doctors were always helpful.

Not very good. The two female nurses on the 7 to 7 shift were compassionate and professional. The male nude for 7 to 7 then then one for 7am till I left were not good, impatient, in a hurry and almost rude. Almost all my care there from every department was rushed. I was not impressed. I am a nurse and know what good care is, mine was adequate.

From check in to discharge, every single person was very professional and very caring.

I was well taken care and the facilities were top notch. My husband had a comfortable place to stay with me.

This was my first time to experience ASH...and I must say that I was met with a very professional staff.

No surgery yet, just presurgical testing. I have met a staff member that wasn't conscientious and professional. I'll let you know after surgery, but I like what I see so far

My husband underwent Arthroscopic surgery of his knee, it only lasted approximately 20 mins, from beging to end all personnel were very professional and caring, explained every single procedure from iv to anesteshia to surgery making us feel very comfortable overall. I'll definitely highly recomend this facility

My experience was beyond measure!!!!! I think they need to create a special new word to describe AR. Surgical Hospital!!! I had my left knee replaced March 17,2016 and I was so amazed with the entire experience that I am having my right knee replaced Dec.19th 2016. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Ken Martin cause if I did you would have to take a weeks vacation just to read all the positive things I said about him!!!!! There were so many amazing experiences however the one experience that was the coolest was when Dr. Martin PRAYED with me and my hubby right before going into surgery , and it WAS NOT a short and sweet prayer that he used every day......And I have to brag on the entire staff......the people I encountered from my pre-opt appointments until the date I checked in and my entire time I stayed in the hospital everyone was so incredible helpful,pleasant, accommodating and performed as if they loved their job. If you are reading this it almost sounds like a fairy tale and too good to be true!!!!! Well its NOT It is this and a whole lot more!!!!!I highly recommend AR. Surgical Hospital for any surgical procedure!!!!

Did not listen fully to my concerns and pain. Went 3-4 months in pain before I insisted on having surgery on shoulder to find that I did in fact have a major rotator cuff tear. The male nurse practioner was condescending on every visit and basically implied I was lying about my pain. I finally requested not to see him anymore. Then billing afterward was ridiculous, and was not billed monthly...very confusing. It ended up being sent to collection because they assume that everyone can pay a $2000 Bill in one payment. Not satisfied at all...and still in pain.

Although my surgery was painful, I was amazed by the friendly staff. They were all great. Dr. Thomas prayed with me before my surgery and this made me alot more at ease. Great stay!!

In my opinion, you should be rated #1 in the state. I've had several out-patient surgeries there and have NO complaints of any of them. In fact, I have chosen doctors because they were associated with that hospital and never regretted my choices.

I Can't say enough good things. We came here straight from the airport they attended us quickly and have a great staff. They also have a free seven day follow-up which came in very useful.

I had surgery on my foot in May. Everyone was wonderful, from check in to the nurses, to my surgeon. I felt very well taken care of.

Great staff and treatment after my two surgeries I had here. The second surgery stay wasn't as good as the first, but still, the staff was top notch and I'm glad I had it done there. Very clean building and rooms, no issues, so I didn't have any negative effects from my stay.

Everyone was extremely efficient every test was explained, and was only there for 45 Minutes!
