Arc Legal Assistance Ltd Review

Oh dear, like so many others I have had the misfortune of needing their legal cover support as part of a paid insurance cover for legal services. needless to say, they wasted so much time to tell us we are not covered because we hadn't been charged with anything yet, so my son ended up with terrible duty legal support because it was too late to get any other legal representation and now he is charged because he lacked the correct criminal support lawyer and probably incriminated himself during the interview. the guys are taking our money and playing with our lives, they are the ones who should be in the dock. what they are doing is criminal! Don't take out legal cover until you've checked out who they are using. the only people Arc are serving are themselves.

I wanted to take my wife's ex company to a tribunal I contacted my insurances company as I had legal cover this was early march 2023 I had 3 months less 1 day to get everything together it took until today 25th May 2023 for them to tell me they can't take it on as in there opinion after looking at it for nearly 3 months with no correspondence with either myself or my wife that the cost out way's the claim .....what a bunch of clowns and the solicitors that they use .....well won't be renewing my policy this year

One of the WORST SMUG INSURERERS i've had the displeasure of dealing with. The smugness and snarkiness of these people is unbelievable. They are completely void of sympathy and will do anything to avoid paying out! AVOID!! Cancel if you are already covered because when you need them, they will leave you hanging!

This company exist to deny claims wherever possible. They are call Arc legal assistance but have no legally trained staff. Just like the Ferry company with no ferries what a rip off

Poor Legal Advice. Speaker didn t sound confident with the simplest of questions. Finished conversation more confused than when I started. Avoid Arc Legal, their legal knowledge is extremely limited and you have zero chance of ever getting a positive result.

This company basically work for LV and probably other insurance companies and are basically a waste of space, your put through to them via LV and their Solicitors, Lyons Davidson, who in turn work together to stop any payouts. I paid extra for legal cover from LV who are now trying to claim I am not covered, but I am taking to Financial Ombudsman as advised by FO if they did not pay out and I will not give up as there is no point in insuring otherwise they just rip you off. I haven't seen anyone get paid out on this site and would be interested to learn if anyone does. I have reported all companies to Moneysupermarket too as they need to know and stop using them and recommending any of them

Rejected my claim and ignored the barristers recommendation and didn't send my information to the barrister in full. Dishonest or incompetent?

Arc exists to prevent insurers funding your case. Be warned, they will make your life hell if your case needs any work. The 5-star review here is by their claims manager. Check out glassdoor reviews if you need a more objective, anonymous view from their employees.

Am taking ARC Legal to court.
In their Landlord Rent Guarantee Protection which they underwrite with Adrian Flux they only pay rent protection up-to the expiry of the section 21 Notice according to the clause the have emailed me which they claim means a s21 notice ends a tenants tenancy in law - which is wrong (I have confirmed this with 3 solicitors/barrister/a judge/RLA/NLA) as a teant retains all rights till eviction - no other Rent Guarantee underwriter in the UK does this as they all pay up to the tenant's eviction. Utter nightmare, BEWARE if you intend to take Rent Guarantee with ARC as underwriters. Took out cover in 2013 and paid them thousands and this was first claim. After 8 weeks of stress, 20 emails, 3-4 weeks of zero reply, ARC staff are horrible and rude and all seem related. Have found other Rent Guarantee policies which gives no stress and pay protection up to bailiff eviction with not qualms, and is cheaper. Complaint process in ARC is full 8 weeks even though they can reply and conclude in 5mins they deliberately frustrate you. All seem related in some way and take each other's side no matter what. Completely bias people. Everyone needs to know the TRUTH that they dont like to pay up in good faith.

I regret that I am insured by these guys. Take ages to reply IF you get one. DAS would have done a quicker job at DECIDING on a claim. Not sure what takes so long to help paying customers in tough situations.

AVOID AT ALL COST-2 MANY REASONS TO LIST. LIED THROUGHOUT, BEYOND INCOMPETENT, BROKE MANY FCA RULES, MANAGER IGNORES & LIES TRYING TO EXCUSE & COVER

Avoid like the plague, i have taken out approx 10 of these rent insurance policies, gone to make my first ever claim and its like pushing water uphill, i have also just read the t&cs and omg its a horror story, all against the policy holder and i am sure some of the terms are illegal, i.e you have had to accept the full deposit and rent 120 days before they move in, what tenant pays a landlord or letting agent 4 months in advance of moving in!, plus you are not covered for the first 3 months! i could go on and on, save your money and go elsewhere and these cowboys should be shut down.

Utterly USELESS.

Do not take out Legal Expenses cover with your Insurance Company, it is just a SCAM, none of these Legal Expenses Insurance Companies will help you, it is basically a Proceeds of Crime and Money Laundering Scam, they take your money, and More

Absolutely astounded at the total lack of diligence, attention, focus & qualification of this company. I ve paid for a Premium Contents insurance for >4 years which included legal cover which I hoped would never need to used.

Unfortunately I was in need of claiming on my policy, following a 2-year, legally-advised situation (advice that I paid for privately, but are not attempting to claim for) by a partner at a law firm, who I hired.

Initially Arc made all the right noises and appeared to be very helpful.

However, after spending almost a WEEK uploading TWO YEARS worth of supporting evidence (including solicitor correspondence), it took Arc 3 weeks & countless excuses to do nothing more than skim read, & pick out entirely irrelevant information in just 2 paragraphs - & that was ALL incorrect too.

2 years worth of supporting, legally-advised (and directly involved) documentation which was never properly assessed, was answered with a 1-page no we won t cover this claim , citing - frankly - gibberish, and stating that the qualified law firm partner is wrong and their junior assessor is right (!).

I am now having to additionally pay for a barrister to tell them why they haven t done their jobs, and my attempt at a formal complaint was met with Arc accusing me of not following our complaints procedure in a further attempt to invalidate this clearly merited case, just to avoid paying tribunal costs.

I have no other option but to report this company to the FCA because they have inferred that my (firm partner) legal council of 2 years has misled me, and are also refusing to accept my Barristers (retained by our solicitor to neutrally review the case too) assessment because they claim only their own solicitors assessments are ever correct & valid. Conveniently.

Interestingly, when challenged by being asked which solicitors they used (they claimed they outsource assessments because they re just an insurer & not qualified ), they stated that they will not disclose that information.

At a time when I needed to be able to call on my legal insurance to help me, they ve left me standing entirely alone and worse yet, siding with the defence on nonsense.

One wonders who Arc are supposed to be representing because it seems to me that this company gladly cashes in on customer policy money then leaves people high & dry.

My case is 100% solid.

If you have legal cover in your insurance policy I highly recommend you check who provides that cover and if it s Arc, find another policy because they re just as dishonest as whoever you re legally holding to account.

They refused my claim without referring to any policy documentation or providing any proof, when I am fully covered. Just willy nilly saying, "claim denied, sorry".

They ask you to make a data protection request if you ask to view your policy. Then they take up to 6 weeks to reply which by then is too late.

It seems they are in existence to purely deny legitimate claims!!!!!

You have been warned, approach at your own risk!!!

I have legal cover with these amateurs , received poor advice in the first place leaving me with a 3k bill which they should have covered and I have now been waiting 3 and a half weeks for them to reply to me to see if they will take on my case when it is time sensitive, absolute joke of a company , complete waste of time

arc legal and their solicitors dishonestly rejected the claims to avoid funding from the insurance company (Such as admiral)

I had three litigation cases with full evidence but arc legal and their solicitors rejected by giving irrelevant grounds and out of the policy wording by bending their expectations to reject. The only option is now to escalate ombudsman and my insurance about act legal to SUE them for professional misleading, professional negligence, or maybe qualify for mis-sold items in line with financial frauds.

Also, If You success the case with evidence You have the arc legal make you harder and ask you to get legal review At your cost from our own solicitors, in that case, you had To pay to own Your pocket,

ONE OF THE ADVANTAGES IS THAT IF YOU DO TAKE SOMEONE TO COURT YOU CAN RECOVER COURT FEES VIA ARC. THIS IS WORTH KNOWING AND USING,. EVEN IF YOU WIN YOUR CASE JUDGES SEEM NOT TO ALLOW CLAIMANT TO RECOVER COURT FEES FROM DEFENDANT - THIS IS WHAT I HAVE FOUND! STRANGE I KNOW, AND QUITE UNACCEPTABLE, I THINK.

I rented a house with a estate agents (fresh) based in Stanford le Hope. I fled the house due to violence. This company hounded me, I explained my situation but nothing was done.

Absolute clowns. Can t find out the facts before making life hell. Avoid these fools and don t give them any of your time or money. Be warned!

I don't rate this company at all. They certainly didn't help me and my family when we needed it most with a legal insurance claim. Quite the opposite in fact interpreting legal clauses to suit themselves so they could take the fees for the legal assistance product without having to provide legal assistance legal cover when customers need it most. My advice, steer well clear.

Their policies do not pay up when there is a claim. Strongly advise you to look elsewhere

Terrible company, dodgy car salesman of legal claims handlers, will do anything to get out of paying, they look for loop holes to avoid legal assistance claims, I've had to complain twice to the ombudsman regarding these people, companies such as more than use them to avoid legal assistance, if you hear the name Arc use another insurance provider, theybhave some many bad reviews simply because they are bad!

Useless staff with no legal qualifications or experience whatsoever, apparently used by many insurance companies cause they denied 99.99% claims with no valid reason. Once they had your claim you doomed. Please avoid at any cost they promise to reply you in 5 days which actually means 25 days.

Employment insurance that apparently doesn't cover redundancy shysters.

I have emailed the address below and shall update here if i get a more positive response. I was made redundant alongside 400 other employees by my employer and an taking them to employment tribunal for a protective award. This company although claiming it covers Employment disputes will not cover my individual Employment Tribunal. So im not really sure at what point this legal cover for Employment Disputes would actually be usable in any format.

Hopefully they will agree after my email in response to their comment below but judging by the responses below i won't hold my breath.

I'll also report them to my home insurer as they are currently providing no service when your expecting to be covered.
