"Locals Mountain" in all the best ways. Long live the Legend!
Arapahoe Basin provides access to pristine high alpine and back country terrain. Without all the light pollution that typically comes with overly built up areas and larger towns. The Beavers area is prime for new adventures. With all new runs opening 18-19 and a new chairlift.
Another excellent season! I always appreciate the personable staff at every encounter, on the slopes or in the lodges. I am looking forward to next season already.
Only having to ride 2 lifts to access the best terrain in Colorado...this place is so awesome. I love it. It's my favorite ski location in all of Colorado. :) The staff is great, the kids lessons are awesome...it's not daycare...and the food is good and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I love you Abasin!
I skied here between Christmas and New Years. The snow was good. It was crowded, but, their high speed quads get people up the hill fast.
It's A-Basin. It's THE definitive Colorado ski area. Best tailgating. Best steeps.
Such a fun local ski resort! Definitely a locals resort. Bring some beer and feel free to sit in the parking lot and relax after a day on the slopes!
This resort is often one of the first to open and one of the last to close but be prepared for a big crowd if it is early or late season so get there early to ensure parking.
This resort is smaller then the other vail resorts and definitely windier so dress accordingly.
Doesn't have the fastest lifts, but great terrain! It's also open crazy late. This season its last day is July 4th. If you get here early enough then you can get an OG beach spot.
Good and fun mountain not recommended for beginners or to learn
Only been here one time and it's worth going back to. No cell reception is a little unfortunate but the mountain feels very tucked away. Slopes are more advanced overall and chairlifts are somewhat slow, all worth it's for the experience.
The Beavers opened up a lot of new, advanced terrain. A-Basin is a much nicer resort now.
Staff was amazing at A Basin. Especially PJ behind the bar. He went out of his way to help us. I will definitely be back! Thank you
Awesome. Late spring skiing
Get to it.
If you're looking at this and did not already know a basin is the best skiing in the county you're an idiot
Had a blast my first time out, planning on heading back out this Tuesday
Good snow and skiing. If it's a busy day and you're stuck in the way overflow parking, the shuttle system is very slow and you have to walk quite far. We waited for 30 minutes for a shuttle before walking down the road. In all, very worth it. Nice people and away from many of the tourists.
June 2 was still amazing skiing this year! Love the homey feel of the mountain too..
This is a review for weddings at Arapahoe Basin. They are absolutely stunning. As a wedding photographer I find this ski resort to be such a delight to work at. The views are incredible and make for gorgeous photos and the Black Mountain Lodge has a nice modern cabin feel while still maintaining a lot of rustic charm. The cherry on top? It's reasonably priced especially for a Colorado ski resort venue. I love working here!
Amazing mountain! Will definitely be back here. The Beavers was outstanding!
Snow is surprisingly great for this time of year.. no dirt showing, base is nice and solid. Icey in the morning perfect for a second or 2 and then slushie spring skiing.
Very friendly, great food, best mountain lodge ever!
All of the employees we interacted with were super courteous and helpful. Our instructor was above and beyond awesome! Look forward to returning some day!
The ranch dressing is sub par. Everything else is awesome.
Always amazing snow, even this early in the year. Amazing people and a fabulous time every time
Loved the topography. Watch out for the Beavers though.
The new terrain is rad! I'm bummed that A-Ba will no longer be on the Epic Pass.
A-basin vibes are something special. If you haven't made it to this legend yet, add it to your list.
For late season skiing, I found the place to be in impeccable condition although the single day lift ticket was expensive, in my opinion, at $105. Nevertheless, the runs were well groomed, the lifts quick and offered amazing views. The black mountain Lodge's barbeque (at the top of the first lift) offered some very tasty barbeque. And the restaurant at the bottom of the slopes have some of the best bloody Marys money can buy!
Always a staple of my visits to Colorado.
Summit County's Arapahoe Basin Ski Resort is definitely "The Legend". The resort offers skiing and riding on all terrain levels from Beginner through Expert. They have lots of steeps, rocks, jumps, and fluffy fluff powder. They also have a couple of easy runs off to the side for beginners and a super tiny lift for first timers. The only downside of the resort in my opinion is the lifts. They are slow! Yes the do have one high speed quad chair, but it only goes halfway up the mountain, then you have to traverse over to a excruciatingly slow triple chairlift to get to the very top of the mountain where you can also go to the backside bowls. I've been down the backside of the mountain for only about 20 runs and consider the terrain and one slow lift just alright, nothing spectacular. Palaviccini lift is a very slow double chair lift but it serves some of the best expert only runs on Earth! The big bonus is if you can get there early enough (5:00 a.m.) you can maybe get front row "beach" parking. Overall The Basin IS a legend. They have remodeled the bar recently and added a new rental building. Hopefully they will add a high speed quad chair or gondola to the very top of the mountain soon.
Played the disc golf course, it was fun with some pretty cool holes, but be prepared for a hike and some steep downhill traversing. You definitely need to watch your step.
I wasn't even skiing, just up to hang while others were snowboarding. I was pleased to learn that a really great bluegrass band was playing in Marnie's bar. Nice folks. A-basin is going independent next year to reduce its pooularity.
Great low key ski area. Only 1.5 hours from Denver.
The Legendd! Real deal. Hardly any cell phone service, sack lunches, parking lot beers, minimal beginner terrain. Yup. Montezuma bowl has some of the best open-bowl (above treeline) and glade terrain in CO. Chill peeps abound. Black Mountain Lodge is one of my favorite mid-mountain spots as well. Beautiful views of the east wall, tallboy specials and robust wifi make for a good mountain office. Excited for new lift-serviced terrain (Beavers and something Steeps) opening '17-18, but seriously another fixie??! Please think to the future and make a high speed happen.
Okay skiing. There are runs for beginners and experts but no good intermediate runs. Gone twice and was unimpressed both times. Not bad, just average.
It was a unique experience. This was my first time skiing. I went with my wife and baby girl. The workers in the kids class section were very unprofessional and rude. However while we rented our ski equipment, the fitting guy was great to work with. His customer service saved the review. Please dont judge by look. At the end of the day money is king.
Great mountain to bless yourself and tackle the terrain.
Best ski area for locals. The lodge is awesome with great food and bars, but there is no huge resort. Make sure you get there early as the parking lots fill up fast and then you have to shuttle from the lower lots
Best place to ski. We just got back from the closing weekend and it was a blast. Such a fun place with smaller crowds.
This was an amazing experience. Not too crowded, lift times were only a few minutes at most. The mountain was excellent and provided diverse enough terrain to entertain me for two long days.
Stopped by this past weekend. Such a fun day! Took the lift up and enjoyed the beautiful views. Every single staff member we encountered was beyond helpful and friendly. If you don't get the truffle tots at the base lodge..... well that's on you! Insanely delicious! Can't walt to come back this winter!
Breathtaking views along the continental divide, good skiing, and reasonable prices. PLUS, they stay open later into the season than anyone else, we were skiing in June!
Awesome terrain, amazing snow, and a scrumptious sandwich for lunch. Only downside was that we picked a busy day and parking was a struggle.
Such a great local ski area with something for everyone.!
"The Legend" has some of the best runs and one of the highest skiable elevation via lift in North America. My favorite place to ski.
Although it's early in the season - the open slopes were GREAT!! Absolutely every staff person we encountered - was friendly and knowledgeable!!
Amazing hill. Definitely not for the green skier. Jerry is always welcome.
Great ski area without the baggage of a ski town on top of it. Not super friendly to beginners but was still fun for those of us who have been before but are by no means experts on the slopes
Fantastic ski area with many different trails and difficulties. A couple of places to eat and AWESOME bacon bloody Mary's.
We loved A basin!! This is a great resort with good skiing and a relaxed vibe. free parking and comfortable amenities. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They were promoting safety when we were there and offering goodies to people. The lifts and fast and skiing is great. The back bowl is super fun and I would definitely go back again. Also, out of 4 Colorado resorts we've been to recently, they play the best music-- by far!
Had a great time with my family, everyone was super friendly and the slopes were awesome! Will be back soon for sure!
This is one of my favorite resorts. More locals ski here, and it is typically less crowded
We've came her for Spring skiing the last two years and have had a great time both trips. Not a far drive if you're staying in the Denver area. Never had to wait in too long of lines for the lifts and they have great deals on lift tickets compared to surrounding areas. The food is also a really good deal for a ski resort.
Great skiing! Advanced terrain is really fun. Staff are really laid back. Epic pass was not really their vibe, so it's nice to have that gone
Love this mountain feels so local. Go to the mid station for yummy pulled pork!
The terrain was okay, the staff were great, the air was thin,
I really recommend you guys. We just skied a few hours had a blast.
DONT SKI WHILE SICK. I wasnt feeling well, it is flue season and i regrettably/accidentally threw up right before the lift. The women scanning tickets said "you are done" i said "im done for being sick?" She said "yes" lifted the rope and made me leave the line. I dont drink and was genuinely feeling sick. You shouldnt be skiing while sick, it had been a long week and i did not want to go snowboarding but my friend's filled me full of Gatorade and made me buy a ticket. I know you shouldnt ski while sick now i really know it is NOT allowed at A-basin.
The manager was nice and could tell within a minute that i hadnt been drinking and agreed the female employee didnt know what she was saying. They didnt refund my ticket but gave me a voucher to come back. I know i will be feeling better if I ever go back.
You ve been there.... the skiing is crazy good!
Just go back May / June....darn fun.
Good place to ski and spend it with family and friends.
A couple of slopes were open in December when they should not have been, barley any snow on them lol & its obviously not as nice as some of the more expensive skii areas but that's fine for the price!
Is ok. For me as a intermediate skiier, I find it less good than Loveland (cheaper) and Keystone (bigger) which are all about the same distance out from Denver.
Some of the best snow in Summit County. A fun spot for skiing all year long. The back bowls get great powder.
Great ski area. Typically it's really easy to park here in the lift lines aren't as long as other resorts.
Great smaller resort without ridiculous parking costs like many other resorts in the area. Great combination of easily hikeable terrain, groomers, bowls, and trees. Good resort for all levels.
A Basin is my favorite Summit County ski resort. It's always chill, the snow is great, and the lines are steep. Also has some of the best resort food I have ever had and at a reasonable price. If you love to snowboard, this is the place to be.
Great place for intermediate skiers, Colorado local flavor abounds. Great food and drink prices compared to the re$orts.
Wonderful Ski Mountian! Great staff, good food that is affordable. Summer time disc golf course is sick!
Tnurtle & lunch was the perfect idea today! Thank you.
