Had an excellent time we exploring the aquarium there was so much to see and experience, including much that was tactile, hands-on, & up-close. The Lorikeets were very fun and it was great to feed them their artificial nectar mixture from little cups, thought one should be warned to expect a risk of getting a little dirty. I hadn't expected all of the shore bird displays, but it helped to give a more complete picture of coastal biodiversity. It was also surprising how dynamic many of the aquarium displays were, with some simulating costal currents, or circulating jellyfish in ways that mesmerized. Impressed by everything that I saw: fish, invertebrates, sea lions, birds, amphibians, and more.

This was an amazing place. There were so many marine animals to see. Let your inner explorer out and pet sharks, rays, and a number of other sea creatures. And the jellyfish make really cool music!

Kiyoko was an amazing guide/sea star expert and went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience as we learned about the starfish and anemone. Definitely glad we managed to squeeze a visit in on out trip.

It was a great place to take my nephew. I enjoyed my experience greatly especially with their educational shows. I am definitely considering bringing my students there and going there myself again.

It was awesome! My favorite were the otters and the manta Ray's! The spider crabs were also crazy looking! The theater show was breath taking and all the effects were cool too definitely going back.

My favorite aquarium. Nicely laid out, has a modern feel with the design and architecture, and a great variety of exhibits and animals. Penguins! Sharks! A ray with a 10ft wingspan whhhaaaaaaat???? Tons of jellyfish and seahorses. I love this place. So awe inspiring. And right in the Shoreline/Pike area so you've got tons of places for food or whatever when you're done.

Very poor value for money! Terrible place! Thousands strollers and very crowded. Exhibits are old and poorly displayed.
I completely don't understand why people give 4 and 5 stars....!

Beautiful place for kids & adults. Incredible sea-life in beautiful tanks. They even have a few talks where you can touch the critters. I wouldn't call it a petting zoo, but it's fun & educational.

Aquarium of the Pacific is a great place to see The Shark Lagoon, feeding the Lorikeets, petting the stingrays, petting the sharks, watching all different types of fish, touching all the different types of coral.

A great place for family fun. Located in beautiful downtown Long Beach along the waterfront. You can walk along waterline, view the Queen Mary and picnic after visiting the Aquarium. There are a variety of marine animals on exhibit along with the fish. Such as penguin, birds that frequent the shoreline and otters. It can get quite busy on holidays so take your patience with you!

The aquarium is beautiful! Very educational. Great staff. I think we hit field trip day, so there were hoards of children, but we still enjoyed ourselves. Parking is close and you can leave your car there while you explore Long Beach.

Spent over a hundred bucks to listen to screaming kids. We went on a Wednesday in the winter and the place was still so packed you could hardly walk. Food was tasteless and way overpriced. Total waste of time and money. Save your money and your eardrums. Don't bother.

The exhibits are great and I love going. The price is a little steep, but for an all-day venture, it's worth it. There is a variety of animals and exhibits and the staff are very knowledgeable.

Really nicely done and excited about the expansion. Great exhibits, great ecology and very good science for family students and enthusiasts. Parking is conveniently across the insurance rates are reasonable and the staff seems friendly and kind.

Aquarium of the Pacific is a good place to take your children. It s informative and entertaining for young children even for adults. When you enter they offer to take a souvenir picture that will be ready within an hour. You can visit the lorikeet forest and feed them when you purchase $4 nectar cup. People should remain calm in there. I saw plenty of young adults acting immature throwing the cups to the ground when lorikeets landed on their arms to drink. The aquarium hands out vouchers for the parking right across for $8. The cafeteria is very clean and every worker they re is attentive and polite. Overall it a great way to spend a day with family or friends.

What a great place! First time with my kids and we just couldn't get enough. Petting the stingrays was probably my favorite part. My kids liked making whale sounds. There really is so much to do. And great food options all around. Fun for the whole family.

Fun place for a day outing. The aquarium is large enough to keep you entertained for hours & small enough to need a full day to see it all. They offer alot of fun informative & interactive activities & displays for kids of all ages.

I love the animals here! You learn a lot and there are several interactive activities and petting opportunities. The animals are beautiful!!!! The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. They were great! As a bonus, they have pretty good coffee :) My husband and I came to the aquarium for the evening on our anniversary and it was such a great experience. Anytime I get to be around animals and water I'm happy. Plus, you feel good that what you spend helps the animals. So stop on by!

Great fun aquarium, lots of touch pools. Things we would ve never thought we could touch. Was really fun. Lots of interactive shows/info. Buy tickets online, much cheaper. Or do the combo with whale watching and it is much much cheaper. $45 if bought separately but $55 if bought online together for aquarium entrance and whale watching. Both were great experiences. Highly recommend.

If you want to avoid the families during the day, look up dates for their NIGHT DIVES!! Live music and DJs all throughout the halls, 18+ and they sell beer and wine. Sometimes the night is themed so people dress up but you get access to the whole aquarium (except lorikeet forest) and it's walking distance from downtown long beach so your night doesn't have to end when the aquarium closes!

Over packed free roam environment. Not too organized. Mostly its the parents letting there kids lose. Not too many employees/staff, or they're not too noticeable. I was in the lorikeet area, and it looks poorly kept up with. Very interesting and very educational. You would just feel that for the amount of fees $$ they charge for entry, events, extras, enclosures, that they would keep it neat and clean.

Dissapointed to say the least. While the aquarium had a variety of small salt water fish and jelly fish in the first room, the rest of the aquarium fails to keep your attention. The only way you can see the sea otters is behind a tiny glass window which you're lucky to fight for space to access. There are only 2 of them.

The "shark lagoon" is kept outside where sharks swim in a shallow pool which once again, you have to fight for space to see. They're not even fully grown. And once again, there are only 2 of them.

The best experience at the entire aquarium has nothing to do with sea life. It's the El Nino room where you sit and watch an interesting video presentation about the history and characteristics of the storm. Like come on people...this isn't even about the fish and it's the best thing.

Add some tasteless placements of a dehydrated jellyfish dinner right next to the jellyfish tank (yeah they really do that) and you've got yourself a sad excuse for an aquarium. Hey at least it's right next to the movie theater.
