Appleton Public Library Review

Friendly staff, who are very helpful. Great slection, but this facility needs a face lift, among other things.

The best part of the library is the cooperation with neighboring systems and branches to get you what you need quickly and with a highly accessible system.

I love the APL! So many types of media available and a great collection. I can usually find or reserve exactly what I am looking for (and 10 other things I didn't even know I wanted.)

I miss this library so much. My husband and I love this library. Wonderful staff ...we always went up to the second floor-- non fiction history was our favorite place in the library. We understand that the library is temporarily closed now but we haven't been anywhere since Covid.

The parking meters suck. If you don't have coins, you're SOL. Also, 10 cent fine for returning item "late" - i returned it on its due date, straight after work since work in Appleton but live 30 min away, at 6:45 pm but apparently that counts for nothing. Overall sub-par experiences with this library compared to others. I will not be coming back to this branch.

The library has a nice atrium area with live plants; this is a nice touch, especially during the mid-winter months. That aside, I was working on my computer at one of the desks in the library, minding my own business, when one of the staff told me I had to move because I was in the 'teen' section. I was appalled that this type of discrimination (in the form of ageism) was committed at the hands of a public servant. Although not an actionable offense, it nonetheless reflects poorly on the library and it's staff.

I take my children there almost every day. My son loves the book selection and my daughter always finds what she needs. My youngest, a 2 year old, LOVES the library. I think it has a great selection and checking out books is easy! My son says he wants to be a librarian when he grows up and he wants to work at APL. Thank you for your great selection!

Really cool public library located in downtown Appleton.

Rest In Peace to the firefighter who lost his life here outside, I personally think the bus station interferes with the integrity of the library, they should consider relocating.

I love the environment of the Appleton Public Library and often go there to work. Great collection and convenient location.

i grab my books and computer and sit upstairs. great selection or they help me find what i need. the new 3D printer is wicked awesome.

I suggest calling ahead regarding the services you're interested in. Went in to print something off my phone, which was not possible, requiring a second trip.

Copies are free, at least for now!

Very courteous and helpful staff. They have a great selection of books, dvds and plenty computers to browse the Internet or print copies. I do not like paying for parking in their parking lot. All in all though it's pretty good.

One of Appleton's finest resources. Don't let the negative reviews prevent you from enjoying a wonderful asset to downtown Appleton. The employees are dedicated and friendly if you approach them that way. The ability to get books loaned from other Wisconsin libraries means you have even more availability. Spend an hour or three. Have a driving vacation coming up? Borrow an audio book and watch the miles and hours disappear. We do that for every trip and actually sat in the car until the CD was done before checking into the hotel. Yes you do need to donate to the parking meters, but now that you know - not a big deal to bring some change along. So spend 50 cents on parking or $20 on a book at the mall? Your choice.

parking sucks... there is no parking other than metered parking!!! staff not friendly either...

I have never had an unpleasant experience at the Appleton Library.The Staff has been MOST PLEASANT in the 15 yrs of my stay here in Appleton.They are patient and passionate with helping individual needs as well as community needs...

Demonstrates daily benefits to the community. Could use a better parking lot, but sounds like we'll be getting an entirely improved library, soon.

Tons of books to choose from, fast and easy checkout!

All-around excellent place to hang out. Good for kids and adults alike. Be sure to turn off your phone alarms if you're going to go up to the second floor. Also in order to get a library card you need documents. You can find pretty much every book imaginable here, even video games and audiobooks!

Amazing selection and helpful staff. DVD's are not the easiest to search though. Check out is a breeze. Multiple events and programs, plus areas for teens and kids.

Excellent staff and top-notch children's programs. Great choice of books and materials. We are very fortunate to have such a fine library in our community.

I go here all the time and am never disappointed. I only wish they had more anime films

They seem to be handling the Covid related things very well. Everyone was very helpful and respectful.

There needs to be more diversity in the library staff. There tends to be discrimination in treatment from the predominantly Caucasian staff towards minority patrons. That's not great customer service!

Now open inside for limited services. Plus Wi-Fi is available in the parking lot.
