Apollo

The seating is really cramped, not much leg room and I'm not a tall person. Otherwise it's a beautiful classic theater.

You have to go to see a show to visit the place. Other way, you can only access to the lobby.

The seat are too close but other than that it icon so many stars have passed through it's history for so many reasons.

Apart from the fact that it is a mythical place for some of us nothing exceptional. Memories sold at a high price for my taste and not much to see except the face.

Great for acts that you know. Amateur night is the worst

Hv not been there in a long time went for new jack concert all the performance is excellent. But the sounds system was terrible! The seats was terribke uncomfortable if u hv long legs please get alae seat! If u heavy get the balcony up on the side. I mean those seats are very uncomfortable!

I love it!!! But those seats are too small even tho I had really Good seats. 20 mins in I had to go stand in the back.. The seats need to be remodeled.. the Ojays had you on your feet anyway. Love you Eddie!!!!

For those of us who lived the 80's. Here the Jackson Five were born. It is located in the heart of Harlem. A very picturesque area to visit, full of shops and stores in the mythical afro district of NY

Very unorganized..waited in-line outside for 2 hours

I came here for my cousins graduation. Coming to the iconic Apollo theatre for the first time was so exciting. Everything was great except for the fact that everything was extremely disorganized. The staff wasn t very helpful and the second it was over we were basically shoved out of the theater. It was happening so abruptly that people were dropping wallets and bags all over the floor. I tried to be understanding because there was another graduation after. But we had finished ours long before our a lot time was even over. So I didn t get what the rush was about

We could not enter but it was not possible to fly over a visit to the outside of this temple of black music that made history in the world ..... I loved to see the names of my favorite singers in his wall off hunger ... ..Harlem is a neighborhood that leads you to another New York

Balcony area is really tight seating no leg space drinks very expensive

Certainly an iconic theater, but a bit dated. The Apollo has hosted many memorable performances and the atmosphere is great. However, the theater itself could use a renovation. While the seating makes you feel close to the stage, they are cramped. I'm only 5'10" and while seated all the way back my shins touched the seat in front of me. I've been on airlines with better legroom. It may not be my preferred theater, but I would attend another performance here.

I enjoyed the Friday show with Nina and Me Ledisi she was Awesome as usual I was in the Lower Mezzanine level the seating was very uncomfortable I know the changes were to make more seating but For a 5"9 and taller wasn't a good fit and alot of ppl were complaining your attendants were polite if more changes can be made more room is needed

It was nice, it could always be better though.. i didnt like how the security guy grabbed me from behind just to check my bag. They make you throw out food just so you can buy the ones that they sell and i wasnt aware of that. What about those whom are diabetic and may not have extra to purchase from here or no cash on hand???

Historic and very old place where many American celebrities began to sing ... it needs a reform.

Small seats, no coat check in the winter, so sharing your seat with your winter coat while trying to enjoy the show is difficult.

Bathrooms need redoing, seating is tight but hey its the apollo. So I went to get a drink and I'm not much a drinker, but i asked if the have long island ice tea. The women said no but i can make you one. Now i do t know whats in a long island ice tea but i know it taste like ice tea with vodka. Well i saw this women putting Coca-Cola in the drink and when i got back to my seat and taste it was nasty. Well the drink and a Coca-Cola was $19 i felt obligated to drink it which i did. It helped that Mo'nique made me laugh so hard that it help with forgetting how bad the drink was.

The temple of New York music where he gave life to many characters become famous, it's a shame not to be able to visit only permission entered the hall and no photos, a little 'little.

Apollo is NYC and everyone who is anyone loves stopping by. We were in the presence of greatness with Ava Duvernay, the cast of "when they see us" and the 5 men who the movie was about and Oprah. The only downside was I was outside of theatre since 3pm but they put the people who arrived early in the upperdecks of the theatre near the ceiling and the late comers got better seats. First & Last time at the Apollo.

You feel the feeling of being in a place with a lot of history but they offer nothing to accompany you easily

Very cool amateur night every Wednesday. Comedy and music like no other in Harlem! Last time the music was very loud (hurt our ears). Please loud music is fine but not too loud. Would give 5 stars if the level of sound was perfect. Perhaps next time.

If you want to buy overpriced merchandise, go there. nothing special.

If you are in Harlem it is worth it to go and see it even from the outside.

This area is a very busy area. There are no rest areas, And not a safe place to have a famous theater like the Apollo.

Still like this place. Open and spacious. I enjoy house music and that's the vibe here on a Saturday night. Seven Grand wanted to be uppity about dress code, so I left and came here. Bartender was attentive, drinks were strong, and music was bumping'. Still gets two thumbs up from this guy.

I love the Apollo but the seats are small and it needs to be updated a little If buy seats on the balcony be prepared to sweat because there is no ventilation .

OK so it was first time going here for the mothers day special. The people who worked there were very nice and helpful. Now there seating on TV first balcony is horrible. There is little to no leg room. If you want to be comfortable I would suggest getting tickets on the ground floor. But overall it was a great experience.

Smaller than expected from what I've seen on TV. The event I attended was packed and enjoyable. The seating was not however. I'm 6'0" and my knees were killing me after about an hour. I decided to stand in the back for the next two hours.

The venue's beautiful for all that has been through. More attention must be given however to the 4th floor. The seats are ridiculously close , make my knee cramp. Luckily the seats in front of my sisters were emptied so they were able to hang their feet over the back rest of those seats. AND and and the bathroom is absolutely disgusting! So if you have to attend an event there I would definitely suggest splurging for seat on one of the lower levels. I have attended several events there where I had orchestra seat and I would have never pictures the experience being so different.

The show was excellent however the seats in the theater is small and I comfortable if you have a bad back or knee problem it'll be difficult for you . Was pretty stuff in and the show went long

Needs a big screen so when people stand up, you can still see the artist perform.

Showed up on my first trip to New York City. It was during the holidays and there were Christmas singers outside. A man was outside and said we could come in, visit the gift shop. But, this woman stopped me as I tried to come through. She seemed bitter amd was not too friendly. We left. Oh well.

Mythical hall of Harlem. But you really have to choose your show! The sound system is not very good, it sizzles a little, in any case that evening. As we were very far ahead and hungry, that the concert hall does not have a bar, they recommended a coffee, very nice, not far away, Maison Harlem. Still a good evening

Great experience to stand in a place who birthed well known talent like Michael Jackson and so forth.

This is a great old theater. The seats are uncomfortable, the show we saw [James Taylor] had bad sound [was it house sound or JT's?? - don't know]. But if the show you want to see is there, you might not have another venue choice.

Well, i was hyped to enter because from childhood, i was hyped to go to the "APOLLO" . I got inside and it was sooo small meanwhile tv made it look sooo big.

Was a lot smaller than I thought. But the history of this place is why I went to see it. If I am being honest, the street it's on is a little scary. Some strange people

We found the lines outside to be extremely confusing. We discovered after standing in wrong line after wrong line that there were three will call lines for tickets not bought directly through the theater. Then two for the theater box office, that weren't moving, that all ended up merging together in a huge group of confused people. There were a couple of ushers standing outside, none of which seemed to care enough to help the crowds try to organize. Then once inside the show had a mic issue, lighting issues and we could hear the engineer giving calls all throughout the night from the booth. Full voice calls even during quiet moments of the show. It was very bizarre. Luckily, Van Jones went with all the punches, got the show back on track without skipping a beat and the audience seemed to have a positive experience.

My first time at the Apollo Theater was pretty great. I was here for the All-Star Tribute to Don Rickles. I am not sure how the venue is normally, but it was pretty nice for this special event. I think they ripped out all the ground floor seats and put tables for the celebrities. The venue was clean. My seat was in the Upper Mezzanine and you could see the stage and performers perfectly and clearly. I would come back to this venue if the entertainer was good. Its just annoying to trek all the way up in Harlem.

Historical place, but from outside there is little to see ..

The theater was not as nice inside as I would have hoped. It looks good on TV, but it is run down inside. It could use some fresh paint.
