A total bust. Instead of the room we reserved, we were placed in an outdated, tired casita off of the main property that hadn t been updated since the 80 s (the room music system was a CD, analog boom box as an example). The staff was unresponsive, and explained that they were undergoing renovations and it would be better a year from now. The customer service was poor with an entitled attitude, and the food only a shadow of what we experienced at Miraval. I would recommend the Miraval or any Auberge property over this hands down. Way over hyped.

Beautiful location. Good company maybe 30 years ago before money and greed took over. This is a place supposed to be about health and wellness but it couldn't be further from the truth. $1000 a night just to stay there.. 3 night minimum may i add. And that only includes food. The rest you better bring some hefty cash! The employees are treated terribly. They have to fight for minimum wage and equal coverage. Everyone is overworked and under appreciated. The guests can feel the employees angst and often times leads to unsatisfactory experiences. If Canyon Ranch could stop being so greedy and invest its money where it matters, I'd say it would be as magical as it tries to advertise. But until then, view this as yet another money hungry ceo that genuinely doesn't care about your well being but rather how many zeros are in your bank account.

When I first arrived I was greeted by a very friendly attendant that explained to me where to go to meet a friend for dinner. Dinner was some of the best food I have ever had, salad bar and the chicken stir fry. Afterwards I had an amazing dessert of cheese cake and lemon gelato. Over all a wonderful experience and I would recommend it to anyone.

Oh my gosh. Whenever I go to Canyon Ranch, it's to visit someone who's already staying there. Great casitas, great seclusion and great safety. One of Tucson's best attractions for the health-conscious patron.

My husband and I enjoyed 4 very full and refreshing days. It's great to be immersed in physically challenging and healthy space. It allowed us to refocus on our workout goals, and recalibrate our palates. As others have noted, the rooms are getting tired and need refreshing. We had droopy curtains that were difficult to close (and even then didn't close completely) and electrical outlets are lacking. While there were sufficient outlets, the placement was awkward. In a resort like this, I now expect ample outlets incorporated into the decor and places so we don't have wires all over the place.

Canyon Ranch was an absolute dream. As a first timer, I had read a few of these reviews and was a little bit worried. But literally not one concern that had been expressed here was an issue. I am a seasoned, discerning traveler who has stayed at many high-end resorts, and everything from the shuttle service to and from the airport to the rooms (both renovated and not renovated) to the service to the classes and the spa was perfect. Every staff member our group of three women came into contact with bent over backwards to help make our stay the wonderful getaway that it was (I m looking at you, Kayley from the Grill!).

The Rooms/Grounds: I had an unrenovated executive king. It was secluded, had a stunning mountain view, was huge, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. It really didn t feel dated to me (and I m a 30-something who is very picky about this). Instead, it just felt western and went with the whole vibe of the ranch. Now, one of my friends I went with had a renovated executive king, and she was the envy of all of us. The renovated rooms are GORGEOUS with huge soaking tubs, a washer and dryer.

The grounds were stunning. Mountain views abound, tiny lizards scurry about, the landscaping was all well done and in good shape, and I thoroughly enjoyed the walk from my room to the main buildings each morning. DO NOT MISS the meditation gardens!

The Food: We were a little bit worried about being starving the entire time we were here or eating "rabbit food," but this could not have been further from the truth. Everything is unlimited and delicious while remaining very health conscious. You can order multiple portions at either restaurant, half portions, etc. The main restaurant has a great salad bar and a made-to-order pasta bar that rotates its offerings nightly. In the morning, it s an omelet bar and there is a small continental breakfast bar with fresh fruits, yogurt, nuts, etc. that you can have in addition to the meals. Every bite of food we had was awesome. ALSO there is dessert, and it s all fairly healthy and all so, so good. We thought we were going to have to keep a secret stash of chocolate somewhere, but we were well satisfied. We also appreciated that the food came out quickly at both dining establishments, since we always had something coming up on our schedule!

The Classes/Activities: We took advantage of so many of the classes, and all were wonderful. One thing that I noticed was that all of the instructors quickly became familiar faces. I loved Juan in particular, and we took multiple classes with him (desert drumming, drum circle, Bosu 3D Extreme, and World Dance) and had a BLAST every single time. His energy was infectious. The TRX classes were another favorite. We also partook in meditation, yoga, tabata, spin (AMAZING playlist and awesome challenge, even for a very seasoned spinner), and core classes, all of which were well done, challenging, and the instructors were fabulous.

We zip lined at night and ABSOLUTELY LOVED our guides (Randy and Adria, if we recall their names correctly) and the experience itself was super fun and different than many zip lines we have experiences in the past. We would highly recommend it.

Bingo and Canvas Painting were great fun and the perfect way to spend our evenings.

The Spa: I had many services at the spa, and everything was divine. The spa facilities themselves were great, everyone working in them was lovely and helpful, and the service providers were very talented. (Hey Sandy I ll be dreaming of your massages!)

Customer Service: We really weren t a needy bunch, but there were several times we had requests here and there, and we were never, ever told no. Ever. We didn t encounter one unfriendly staff member, and if someone didn't know an answer to a question (which was rare), they found someone who did.

I can't stress enough what a beautiful stay we had at this resort, and the only downside was leaving.

I am often invited to Canyon Ranch to do contracting repairs, and I never been so impressed with the staff and how they show the clients there, so much respect and grace also that's how they treat their employees. I really recommend this place for the solitude and Serenity. Hats off to executive management for setting the tone.

Incredibly high end location for anyone looking for a sublime retreat. Although expensive, the all inclusive plans for food and athletics feel natural and just give an amazing experience. Not to mention the completely competent staff and amazing guest services.

This is my second experience at Canyon ranch, and although I just did a day spa this time instead of staying for multiple days, it's SO worth it. Absolutely wonderful staff, grounds, and experience as a whole. Life changing, honestly. There's so much to do and to learn and everything you do makes you feel healthier in mind and body. If you can afford it, do it.

This was my second visit after visiting a year ago. The difference was like night and day. The facilities were in need of maintenance and very much in need of repair. The dining options at the main dining room were very limited compared to a year ago. I do not intend to return.

I went to "reboot" and to shape new habits to get rid of some of the lbs I had added. But I left completely refreshed and rejuvenated. It was like a 3 for 1 special!! I learned new simplified cooking methods, experienced some really terrific exercise options, learned all sorts of odd things I never considered such as sleeping posture and how to effectively use your pillow. Not to mention the staff is authentically kind and helpful. I went alone and enjoyed the entire experience and hope to do it again next year. It was money well spent, it has changed several of my relationships. (Perhaps I needed to chill out and be in the moment a bit more often.) Do it for yourself and the ones you love!

This was a lovely place to both relax and learn new ways to exercise and eat. The people could not be more helpful or willing to lend a hand. The food is outrageously delicious and is served all day. I would recommend this as a vacation for couples or a friend get away.

Invited for dinner. Lovely selection of food. Wide variety of well portioned entrees. Best way to approach is to go in waves. Only small note, some of the staff really didn't look like they wanted to be in the restaurant.

Canyon Ranch Tuscon consistently provides an incomparable, extraordinary spa experience. My definite oasis from the desert grind of daily life. At "The Ranch" I enjoy hiking, biking, tennis, massages, and chef prepared healthy, but absolutely delicious dining throughout the day. Spacious, comfortable, quiet rooms are suitable for all manners of relaxation and downtime, TV and wireless internet access. Staff are the friendliest, most knowledgeable professionals that you will ever meet, from sharing workout techniques to discussing historical landmarks., they definitely enhanced the trip experience for me. Canyon Ranch provides my annual time of healing, rejuvenation, and recuperation. I highly recommend Canyon Ranch to anyone seeking a retreat that provides energy, healthy living, and personal care in a warm and engaging environment with like minded friends. I am currently scheduling my fourth trip to Canyon Ranch, this summer!

Great environment, lovely place to stay however it is not a destination for party goers. The ambiance is mellower, for hikers or people who enjoys walks. Staff is fantastic and the head of Housekeeping is such a pleasant personality.

Too many changes from the original Canyon Ranch. Less staff, no shows for lectures (staff or presenters didn t show up), staff running from class to class, nothing to do most evenings after dinner. Food was the best ever and dining room servers were terrific. Locker room needs more staff as well.

Canyon Ranch is so wonderful. I had been to the Lenox location as well and they are very different but the level of service, the level of food, and the ambiance are all wonderful. I loved the privacy of the individual buildings that housed the rooms. The lunch and learns with chef Shaun are awesome. I had a watsu massage that was damn near spiritual, and the views cannot be beat. Absolutely worth every penny if you go!
