I really liked the place. Colorful. The theater is literally a monument to black, jazz American culture, but without too much snobbery. The rows are designed so that even from the top floor, the scene is clearly visible. Must see in Harlem.

I first entered the theater for the Wednesday night AMATEUR MIGHT show, hosted by Capone ..... Immediately a nostalgic feeling overwhelmed me as I walked down the storied hall to the tall oak doors. The view inside is worth the trip to NYC on its own merit.

The next night was the night of my show, inside the Apollo Comedy Club.
Headlining such a major show in such a major venue was validating, to say the least.
The staff is incredible.. From Alice, to Mr White, Mr. Walter, Anthony, & big Wayne... even my dear Ms Gloria...... all under the command of Mr Dwight Jordan.... a man who goes beyond the extra mile to facilitate the artist's every whim .....

And the entire event is produced by the Apollo's "Curator of Comedy" .... the legendary Bob Sumner.

I am blessed to have attended such a historic edifice

If you're planning to visit NY, you MUST stop in Harlem to attend amateur night at the Apollo Theater. The vintage decor, the DJ, the host, the contestants, and the EMPLOYEES, created the ultimate guest experience. Light snacks and drinks are available at the bar, if you're interested! It's a possibility your show will be sold out. So, arrive early to hear the DJ's mix and to avoid being stuck in the entrance line/ bar line while the show is starting. Enjoy! You won't regret it!

"Amateur show" of Wednesday night. Little real revelation, 2 out of 6. But atmosphere of the room nice and dancing at intermission, in a mythical place. Good atmosphere and good evening for a reasonable cost at 26/30 or $ 36 show from 19:30 to 22h.

Apollo great entertainment for 6 years old and up. Now you can see what happens during the commercials. Did you know the jingle "Nationwide is on your side" was sung, instrumental played, created by a members of the Apollo Band!

Bathrooms need redoing, seating is tight but hey its the apollo. So I went to get a drink and I'm not much a drinker, but i asked if the have long island ice tea. The women said no but i can make you one. Now i do t know whats in a long island ice tea but i know it taste like ice tea with vodka. Well i saw this women putting Coca-Cola in the drink and when i got back to my seat and taste it was nasty. Well the drink and a Coca-Cola was $19 i felt obligated to drink it which i did. It helped that
Mo'nique made me laugh so hard that it help with forgetting how bad the drink was.

Awesome ushers and staff. Friendly and attentive. Gave 5 stars despite the venue not having anyplace where patrons could charge cell phones. I couldn't capture moments with my favorite artists because BOTH of my cells died. Had trouble finding my ride for the same reason. Apollo please upgrade to provide charging stations or change your policy. This was a sold out show! #EPMD #RAKIM #LOX #BRANDNUBIAN #SMIFNWESSUN

"lovers night" on Wednesday night. $ 26 per person for a great evening. There is only amateur name because we had the right to a superb show in the American style. If you are in the area I highly recommend going for a ride.

Harlem is the place to be for black culture and Caribbean food. Since I made it during the time of year in the offseason where Steve Harvey is not doing Showtime at the Apollo, there are other X that are being done on several days of the week like amateur night. When you first go inside of the Apollo there is a desk area where you can purchase your tickets or souvenir items such as t-shirts and things. You actually have to pay for tickets to go beyond their in order to see the inside venue.
