Billy Mitchell our tour guide told a very good history of how apollo got it name. And the artist who perform from ella fitzgerald to present.

Security staff was rude. Ventilation was horrible. Couldn't see the screens from half of the mezzanine section

Amazing experience. Helpful ushers, everything was smooth, sound quality was better than expected.

The APOLLO celebrated its 85th BIRTHDAY and had an open house celebration on Sat 2nd ....!!!! It was my first time to this beautiful theatre Uptown !!! It was a dream come thru , the conveinces provided were great !! Elevator to the different floors and hospitable folks to guide you !!! Friendly staff and courteous .

This was my first show at the Apollo and a metal band was probably the least likely thing I thought would get me here. I was amazed at how small the venue is, I guess because its reputation looms so large. The staff was friendly and helpful and you can't beat the intimacy of the space.

We saw the Wednesday night amateur show. OMG, amazing talent, and the MC made us laugh till we had tears in our eyes. It turns out this show was the highlight of our trip, it was great. The venue has so much history, it was an honor and privilege to be there. We totally lucked out on our tickets and got in the 4th row right in front of the stage. Really enjoyed every minute of the show. Thanks Apollo for a great night out. :)

Roots for soul, r&b, funky jazz and many other music(ians).

Not enough leg space. .Some safety issues need to be addtess.

One of the most historical places that legends have played at. It is a gem in Harlem.

You can feel the energy and spirit of Harlem in this theater.

So, as a young adult I spent a lot of time watching show time at the Apollo. The Apollo Theatre is an iconic place, located in the heart of Harlem (125st). The staff is great! I was seated in the back and so the stage seemed far away lol. While I was there all I did was reminisce on everything I saw on the telly. To visit this place is an honor so be sure to check it out.

The Apollo, If the walls could talk in here. This is a must see if your near Harlem....

Historic Theater...well kept and maintained. Very courteous staff and truly not a bad seat in the house! Love visiting!

They need to fix the lights. There was no reason to have a tribute to Aretha Franklin with the lights broken..shame on yall

A real local cultural gem! I was there for Amateur Night, but don't let that fool you, the acts were excellent! Audience participation is strongly encouraged and it made for a truly memorable evening. I definitely suggest you check it out if you are in New York and want to experience one of Harlem's most authentic local venues!

As a person who grew up in new york and was and old amtrue hour person I love the Apollo. It has and always be my first love.

" The Godfather of Harlem" was a bomb ,had a bombastic time at Apollo tonight,great premier lots of celebrities turned out and the after show "Tun up".

Very rude and nasty tellers and usher's and pretty good performances

The iconic Apollo Theater is located on 125th Street in Harlem New York known says many celebrities to touch the stage and get famous from performing here it speaks for itself and stands out in the community of Harlem there's no parking lot here but it's easy to reach from public transportation such as train and bus easy to spot from the street

Awesome venue in a great neighborhood. A movie was filming nearby when we arrived and it was fun to watch them. Very vibrant area.

Great experience to stand in a place who birthed well known talent like Michael Jackson and so forth.

DJ Black Coffee and Africa Now celebration. Always an honor to witness great music and talent on the greatest stage in the world.

As a visit, it is not worth much, if you are in Harlem, I would see it if it did not go explicitly. I do not know how the works will be, in his days they were quite famous

It's always a fun and exciting place. A place where you can find the most hopeful people in North and Smelly New York. Although it is small in size, you can buy one or two souvenirs.

Everybody should experience Amateur Night once to say the least.
The kind of show that gives you thrills, and makes you feel good no matter what.

I went on Wednesday which was amateur night. Me and my wife weren't planning on going; but this is a Historic Landmark and we just wanted to stop by and see it. We went to the gift shop and talked to someone who seemed like the theater manager and she told us we should check it out. The price was very affordable we got main floor seats for about $25 each. And you may think I'm exaggerating but I will say this is the best show I have ever seen in my life. And it was the supporting Talent as well as the Usher's and staff of the theater which made it so good. This is the type of show it doesn't matter how you feel going in whether you just got off of work, just went through a break-up, or tired from a long flight they are going to make sure that you have a good time. I can't explain this- but I would say you have to see it for yourself #Apollo

Im a Harlemnite! Born and raised! The Apollo Theater is a landmark and will always be known for great entertainment as well as stage for upcoming artists!

Fun place with ample seating and great entertainment!

Cool place in the heart of Harlem on Adam Clayton Powell Blvd next to a lot of shopping. Lots of transportation available, via bus or subway.

After all these years there no reason why the Apollo is not the whole block , or at half. All the stars that made money there . It's so sad . .

What a fun evening! They do a great job of making sure the crowd is having a good time.

Iconic bustling place, very authentic, you feel like a white man even African-American .... SPECIAL.

If you visit the city of New York, you can not miss the Apollo, even if you do not go to see any show. It is a legendary place, full of history, with an energy that makes you vibrate.
On the floor there are a lot of stars like those on the Hollywood Walk of Fame or on Corrientes Avenue in Buenos Aires. There is a star with the name of Michael Jackson, (who incidentally, participated in one of the famous Amateur Nights with his brothers when they just launched as Jackson 5, and where they met James Brown).
The true music fans have to go at least once in their lives.

Amateur Night was amazing. Great hosts and some good preformers.

Institution of music and entertainment. You can feel the history oozing from the walls, I never realized how small of a space it truly is, nice and intimate!

Historically it is a symbol of black culture, but in recent years I knew that people of various races were like symbols of a diversity era competing for their arts, I felt a lot of power

The history, the music, the legacy, but if you sit anywhere but the orchestra area, ITS HOT!!!!
