love it the best place to go signing at i still looks the same nice small & tight
This landmark in Harlem will always be one of the birthplaces of soulful music. I like the walk of fame.
There was only a sacred place for black music and it was great. The soul that is in my body exploded.
Attended Amateurs Night and it was an affordable event that let us see the inside of the Apollo. It was a good show with talented "amateurs." We had a delightful evening.
This place is amazing and such an important part of Harlems history. Just love walking up the stairs and watching the photos on the wall, makes me smile. If your visiting NYC please go, if your a resident checkout their events, there's something for everyone.
Mine. With. The. Jackson. 5. In. There. First. Career
So much history and so many legends have performed here.
The venue's beautiful for all that has been through. More attention must be given however to the 4th floor. The seats are ridiculously close , make my knee cramp. Luckily the seats in front of my sisters were emptied so they were able to hang their feet over the back rest of those seats. AND and and the bathroom is absolutely disgusting! So if you have to attend an event there I would definitely suggest splurging for seat on one of the lower levels. I have attended several events there where I had orchestra seat and I would have never pictures the experience being so different.
Loved it. It was my first time there and the concert was amazing. Saw a Salt n Pepa, Tony Toni Tone and Bell Biv DeVoe
The overall experience was good being that my daughter was performing at the time
We had an evening of fun and laughter. Wonderful experience.
It was first time there, I was excited to see & feel the spirits the graced this famous landmark. I'd also to add those seats are super uncomfortable for a 6ft guy......ouch
Legends have performed here! It's an honor to be in the building! I recommend balcony seating. My floor seat view was blocked by speakers
Call the Apollo Theater it always got something good going on
" Chillaxin on a tour with the family at the Famous Apollo Theatre.
A piece if history and an amazing place to see a show! A NY must visit!
I see Big Sean performance here on iheartradio Live
Absolutely cannot recommend Wednesday Amateur Show Highly enough. Some kids acts (No booing) then the adult acts and if you don't like them, boo them off. Great fun and a must do in NYC.
Awesome experience for all Its a great showcasing of talent it's the Apollo enough said
My father first took me to the Apollo when I was a child. I always enjoy and respect this legendary venue whenever I visit. So much rich history that is integral to the vibrancy of the village of Harlem, USA. A must see for any tourist.
It's quite an impressive theater. A lot of energy all around you.
Every seat is a fantastic seat, acoustics were nearly perfect
Yes I did visit but did I get in for the show no. I was told on the phone that they had plenty tickets when I got it it was sold out
Nice spot, just wish it was open for ametuer night more often.
So much fun. Can't believe I have never been before. I will be back!
Amateur night
Don't forget tickets for concerts
1 week visit to New York passage therefore by harlem
The show was excellent however the seats in the theater is small and I comfortable if you have a bad back or knee problem it'll be difficult for you . Was pretty stuff in and the show went long
beautiful culture dance event by "The Forces of Nature and B.F.L.
Just back from the Amateur Night - a birthday celebration I sure will remember for ever & beyond. The energy of the place is feel it to believe it uplifting. The audience is there not just to watch, oh no: they are there to sing and dance - never seen so many sizzling dancers in one single place; they were there to laugh, and support, and yes, sometimes to boo, too. But only when they needed to save da planet from an alien invasion.
Capone, the host, is fuuu-ny, and at one point aks ya'll to hold a hand of the person sitting next to you, as a gesture of universal love and trust, as well as the sign of the much better times to come (Vote in November!). And the acts were also good, especially the guy with a guitar who won the kids opening act competition can t remember his name now, except that it sounded Italian, but I m sure he ll make it real big. So go, see, listen, sing, dance, laugh, boo, support... Whatever. But make sure you do go.
Needs a big screen so when people stand up, you can still see the artist perform.
Much smaller than I thought but the show was worth the tight squeeze
Cool place
Very famous
Awesome place, nice shows. I really love the old structure that they preserved inside
such an honor to step where so much black history occurred
Historic theater in Harlem, where many stars of American music triumphed
Legendary establishment. Everybody who is anybody has played the Apollo.
It was just a party at The Apollo " SUPER TOP DOG NIGHT in HARLEM. So many people from all over the world watch and text in. "Lovely"
Icon of Harlem, it is worth visiting. Even if there is no show or you can not pay a ticket, going to the area is profitable. I recommend going in the morning, very early (8 am) since the businesses of Martin Luther King Jr Avenue are closed and so you can appreciate the murals in their metal blinds made by Franco The Great, iconic illustrator of Harlem. You may even see him there, at his post, drawing and selling small drawings.
Always a place I wanted to visit in NYC. Mr. Apollo is the real deal and gave a great tour with a great history lesson both for him personal and for the theater. Highly suggest as a local or visitor.
Nothing better than seeing it in person and the staff was so polite
Absolutely wonderful entertainment.
The building is gorgeous from the inside.
We got late seats and sat in the very last row, on the right. No need to worry! The sound and line of vision was perfect!
The show was hysterical. I don't live in America, but the humour is light and witty and appeals to all.
I also love that you buy your drinks inside - credit cards accepted!
The ushers are also feisty characters and start getting you in the festive mood from the get-go.
If I lived nearby, I would try and go at least once a month!
Smaller than I expected but fabulous none the less...show started way too late though
