Great friendly staff, they were very helpful & courteous. Seats are a little uncomfortable but it was well worth the trip & being in an establishment that is such an important part of history.

Showed up on my first trip to New York City. It was during the holidays and there were Christmas singers outside. A man was outside and said we could come in, visit the gift shop. But, this woman stopped me as I tried to come through. She seemed bitter amd was not too friendly. We left. Oh well.

Wednesday November 23, 2016 @ the Apollo theater , started out exciting . The top dog acts were amazing and then the bullshit . How can you bluntly cheat the real winners . Legendary concert hall located in the heart of New York's Harlem, where the greatest blues, jazz, soul and gospel orchestras and musicians performed.
Aretha Franklin, Duke Ellington, Ray Charles, Ella Fitzgerald, Dizzie Gillespie or Count Basie contributed to making the Apollo Theater the most relevant club for African American music in North America.
The Amateur Night, which started in 1934 and is still going on, is an emerging talent contest where great music stars such as James Brown, The Jackson Five, Stivie Wonder or the aforementioned Ella Fitzgerald were discovered.
Station 125st. from lines A and D of the metro is located a few meters from the theater.

Mythical hall of Harlem. But you really have to choose your show! The sound system is not very good, it sizzles a little, in any case that evening.
As we were very far ahead and hungry, that the concert hall does not have a bar, they recommended a coffee, very nice, not far away, Maison Harlem.
Still a good evening

Great and mythical NYC theater, a mandatory stop on a visit to Harlem. They don't let anything in but the lobby, and what's more, a pretty nasty lady kicked us out. But that does not mean that we did not like the visit.

One of the greatest experiences in a historic place. Billy A.k.a. Mr Apollo guided us with his humble and gracious personality, through the origins of this shrine of Jazz, Soul and R&B music. Strongly recommend for music lovers of all ages.
