This is a wonderful place also I got to perform on stage

Just seeing it from the outside at age 50 is an indescribable emotion. I've been listening to music all my life and this place is the center of the world! The most important musicians of funky soul and jazz music .... strictly black, they played in this "sacred" place .... what to say ... those who are particularly sensitive will come out with tears ....

I went to a talent show night. Everything was punctual. Arrive early to buy drinks. It is allowed to drink inside the theater on the chairs. In addition, the bathroom is very luxurious. And the souvenir shop is very cool.

Great shows. If your going to a show that's for studio audience where you see live performances televised be patient. If your not extremely early there will be a line going around the corner to venue. They will hand tickets as you wait on the line. You must have an invitation in order to have a free ticket. Use the bathroom before seating it's going to be hard if your in the middle of rows going in and out. Easy to get to by train or bus. Driving can be insane it's meter parking. Parking lots are in the area but not any. Best bet get a Uber/cab/taxi. They do have paid shows that are usually awesome. Small bathrooms. So go when you know no one else will. Enjoy!

I had the best time. I've wanted to partake for years. Tonight it came true. Fabulous expierience.

This area is a very busy area. There are no rest areas, And not a safe place to have a famous theater like the Apollo.

Great intimate venue. Close to stage from any seat. Good sound system and acoustics.
Only issue: a good portion or the rear stage and a video screen can't be seen by those in the last few rows of the lower mezzanine. They need to place some monitors or something so everyone can see everything.

It was so much fun!! The DJ, the pre-show, the MC, were all amazing! But the band. . . They were awesome!!!!. They were so good they made substandard performers sound good. If it had not been for the band, some performances definitely would have been cut short. A great show from beginning to end!!

This HISTORIC LANDMARK of Harlem is an ULTIMATE GEM!!!!!!!! this is the Grande o' Opry of upper Manhattan!!! Legendary African- American singers, Actors, Dancers etc have got their start & made their mark!!!!!! Interiors original and restored!!!! Come & be Entertained by the stars of tomorrow, present & past!!!!

I went here for the first time to see the return of Amateur Night. For the price, it was plenty enjoyable, and made for a lovely night out.

Apollo is one of those place that should be on your bucket list. They have all sorts of shows so you got to do your homework on who will be appearing. Also they have a smaller stage upstairs for a more intimate performance.

The Apollo Theater is a historic landmark and you feel it when you see a show there. Amateur Night on Wednesday nights is an experience unlike any other. I highly recommend it. If you're looking for food nearby, I suggest Red Rooster of Harlem (great food, scene + live music) or Sylvia's Restaurant - both just a block away.

Was hoping to see more of this historic place, but you need a group of 20+ to get a tour ... about a 15 min walk from the train

Seeing Amateur Night on TV when I was younger but actually seeing it in person was exciting and the show was awesome

It was my first time, it was very nice everything was wonderful.I plan come next time and bring more of my family

Great, historic place. The comedy room was excellent, the show was great. The menu was limited to a few finger foods but they were good. Also, the drink menu was limited but it was good.

I have not been to the Apollo in ages they did a good job with the inside up keep they also do a strict security check you can buy drinks water alcoholic beverages sound system great!

LET ME TELL YOU THIS! The Apollo was one of the best experiences in my life. Funny, explosive, and downright great. I definitely want to go back and I will one day. If I come give more stars, I would.

We made the trip up to Harlem a specially to see the Apollo, it s in a busy neighbourhood full of life and activity the night we went there, worth having a look around

Well-maintained, plenty of great programming (many free ones too), fun, historical venue, good vibes!

It was like visiting a page from childhood. Great experience, amateur night show was entertaining. They need a new sandman though.

Great night. The compare comedian Capone MADE the night. He is so funny . The acts were really good too. Would totally recommend.

Historic theater in Harlem. Recently hosted The Manhattan Borough Arts Festival - which was amazing. The staff was pleasant * merch reasonably priced. A NYC treasure!

This was a great and inspiring history lesson so wonderfully told by a gentleman handle name Mr. Apollo who has been working there since he was fourteen and now some decades later is still going strong. I learned a lot about this magnificent theater and I so glad I came. Highly recommend.

Always great going to the legendary Apollo Theater. Our seats were great, the show was on time and the crowd was very good.

Great performances by new and upcoming artists. A building with alot of history.

I Saw The O'Jays there and they were excellent. Please come back to New York soon. The staff at the Apollo act Regal, polish and professional. I was very impressed with the way they treat people coming to the theater.

In Harlem, but not so dangerous

Go there for a history on Harlem and established legends. It's a place for people who are looking to become entertainers because they have legends that you can learn about. No matter where you sit, you can see the stage very well. You can dance when you're on the stage. It gives people the opportunity to understand what Harlem is like from the beginning to now. If you're in Harlem, you HAVE to go to this theater.

The World Famous Apollo was so informative, the tour was superb, the tour guide was excellent, I wish I could remember his name, but he wrote a book about how he got his start at Apollo. We got to look at the signature walls, :the lucky log" we were able to do a mock show. It was so much fun.

Still like this place. Open and spacious. I enjoy house music and that's the vibe here on a Saturday night. Seven Grand wanted to be uppity about dress code, so I left and came here. Bartender was attentive, drinks were strong, and music was bumping'. Still gets two thumbs up from this guy.

I love the Apollo but the seats are small and it needs to be updated a little If buy seats on the balcony be prepared to sweat because there is no ventilation .

OK so it was first time going here for the mothers day special. The people who worked there were very nice and helpful. Now there seating on TV first balcony is horrible. There is little to no leg room. If you want to be comfortable I would suggest getting tickets on the ground floor. But overall it was a great experience.
