Lively and fun entertaining inside and outside of the apollo
Attended the jazz foundation event which was for an great cause. It was outstanding. The theater itself was small and thought, very expensive merchandise and the bathroom was way downstairs. Over all i guess that's expected from an historical theater. The demands were much different. The staff was outstanding especially the women that was head of security.
The Amateurs night of Wednesdays is a must! A dynamic and show that keeps you entertained throughout the show. Sale approx 90 usd, but really worth it.
The drinks at the bar are small and expensive, I do not recommend it.
Apollo Theatre is a classic, love to visit this place! Open House Weekend was awesome!!!
Food was a bit over salty but the staff really made it for me. Reasonable seafood at reasonable prices.
We do not properly enter the theater, only the box office, to see where to see a gospel choir. Coincidentally, around the theater.

You feel the feeling of being in a place with a lot of history but they offer nothing to accompany you easily
We had a great time here, a part of history and the renovations they did were nice.
Nice to have been there where so many stars went in and out
ALWAYS amazing to visit for any event d A true landmark
Harlem mythical theater where the main figures of blues and jazz performed and that in imitation of holliwood have the stars at the door
the history and story telling in this place is unmatched. Check out Amateur Night every Wednesday. The new season starts in October.
Not so touristic and differents from what you use to see
So glad this historical theater is still here. The ticket prices for amateur night seemed over priced, but there are plenty of other events at the theater to choose from. Still a beautiful site when the lights are on at night. It never gets old to see!
Oh man, such a historical place. Pick a great music event and go!
Apollo theater is a historical place from musicians and comedians entertainers etc... some are icons some are legends and this the place that birth them. I recommend you stop by and look at a show on your spear time. You would absolutely love it. If this review was helpful then be shore to like thanks and enjoy ur day/night.
I have loved the Apollo since childhood. So happy that Mr. Percy Ellis Sutton stepped up to save this landmark institution. The first time I went there I paid 65 cents for the first show.
Long standing monument. Habe not seen a show in a while
This was everything I could have dreamed it would be! What a cultural icon to actually get to experience first hand! We turned up for amateur night, and the crowd, the talent, the building... everything delivered. So much cheering (and a little booing for good measure). Incredible to think about the legends who have graced that very same stage.
Wednesday night appointment at "lovers night"
Atmosphere assured, authentic show at the American, very resonable price.
The staff is smiling and pleasant
We loved it and can not wait to go back with the kids this time.
Superb looking theatre, reception area looks wonderful. There was no show on that day.
The mythical Apollo Center. To see only for this since the district does not present other exceptions.
Mr Apollo - thank you for looking after our group from New Zealand. So much history and a must do in NYC!
Was sitting on row 0 #107 and chair broke not kool. Funny show but very uncomfortable...
We enjoyed an amazing time in Harlem. I enjoyed standing onstage with Big Daddy Kane, Busta Ryhmes, Papoose and more.
Great night out at the Apollo Amateur night. Definitely worth a visit!
Great experience loved every minute of it, missed the fact Steve Harvey wasn't the host but Capone did a great job
LANDMARK,A PLACE EVERONE SHOULD EXPERIENCE THE SHOWS AND TOUR'S.
Beautiful theater but the seating is tight and small. Lines to get in moved quickly and smoothly.
The amateur night was so much fun and exciting to experience something I have never seen before
The only downside is the line for drinks or cocktails were long. They need additional bars in this theater.
My college went on a trip to NY, during which we went to the Apollo theater. It was an honor to meet Mr. Apollo himself! (If your name's Barbara be prepared for him to talk about his sugawuga ). An experience that I'll definitely never forget. Groups went up and preformed, including some of my classmates and instructors. Two of which are pictured, are actually singers. So glad they had the courage to sing in front of the crowd. I heavily recommend visiting, and getting a copy of Billy Mitchell's book. He signs it then and there.
Listed as one of the most historical landmarks in the Harlem District area of New York City. This location has a lot of sentimental items on display. With their own Apollo walk of fame. Many great artist have to come and performed at this iconic theater. Also known for it s amateur night which gives rising stars an opportunity to show their talent. You can catch yourself enjoying its beauty, history and what may be a future star among us one day.
Just happened to walk in on a whim and was offered free tickets to a show in progress! Steve Harvey was funny as hell!! The staff was very professional and accommodating!
This DC guy had a ball!
