Really a super experience. Nice with the monkeys so close, organization is very good and friendly. Everything is clean and well maintained. And the Apenheul also helps monkeys in nature! A big ten for this day! Top!
Discussed with an employee about why some reviews indicate that they have not seen monkeys. These people probably didn't pay attention, because we constantly had monkeys around us. Top!

Nice park, nicely decorated and many different monkeys to see. Normally the monkeys also walk through the park, but now because of Corona many areas are closed, which is unfortunate but understandable. Nevertheless, there is still plenty to see and experience. And in some places you can suddenly just see a monkey jumping in front of you. There are also many playgrounds in the park for the kids.

Have a nice day out and really laugh at the death cape in the beginning. What a little hooligans. Good supervision of staff that some people unfortunately need. Monkey welfare is clearly paramount. Recommended

Situation: Sunday, corona measures, rainy.

Situation: Sunday, corona measures, rainy.

A number of things have been closed due to the measures. Hardly any monkeys in free-range areas, only at the entrance. Some runaway areas are simply closed. (including Squirrel monkeys) Despite the measures very busy.

Rainy: monkeys are often indoors or huddled under shelters. So take the weather into account.

Very suitable for a very nice day out. A special experience this way between the stray monkeys (not all, only where possible of course). Parking is ample and right in front of the entrance to the Berg en Bos park where the Apenheul is located.

A lot of (necessary) corona measures, but now very limited access to everything. A lot has been closed ... this is necessary and logical, but that almost all catering establishments were closed is very strange. This ensures that you get concentrations in the few places that are open.
We walked through the entire park in less than 2 hours and were able to see very little. All in all, not a success and certainly not as desired.

Staff are very friendly and helpful. Park is neat and clean and the (opened) catering facilities were neat and well organized.

I wonder if I would have been more satisfied without the corona measures, who knows, maybe I will ever try it again. Not impressed at times.

Very nice park and nice playgrounds for the children. The children were also very pleased with the monkeys that roam free. There was disappointment when it turned out that these parts of the park were closed due to corona. Completely understandable of course, but we hadn't read anything about this on the website beforehand - it is still stated at the time of writing that many monkeys roam free - and unfortunately we did not realize that this would be closed. This made the number of attractions quite limited and we were around fairly quickly. I don't think I would go there again or recommend it to anyone in corona time. After corona we definitely want to give it another chance!

The last time I was here was with my girlfriend.
Everything was fine to find, although it was relatively busy that was not a problem.
The instructions what was and were not allowed were very clear and specific, and if you needed help the staff was very friendly.
All occasions were easy to find and there were plenty of places to get food and drinks.

The monkeys have been reared and are more shy than before. Very nicely laid out and clear. Do not wear, touch etc. A lot of guidance in the unloading part and very child friendly. More positive experience than I would have thought on the basis of my memory.

Enjoy all kinds of monkeys (and other animals) in beautiful surroundings. Throughout the park very nice 'facts', information and knowledge questions for young and old. Due to the corona measures it is slightly different than before, but that did not spoil the fun for us .. Even with bad weather, rain and wind, had a very nice fun day ..

A downside: few 'dry' places to enjoy a snack and drink .. Therefore not 5 stars ..

Never been to this zoo, but after 27 years I went looking.

Upon entering, you walk in directly with the skulls monkeys, these cheeky monkeys jump around and love prams. If you are patient, they will come and sit with you, but watch out! They poop and pee a lot, so they can just do that to you.

The various informative shows are funny and interesting to attend!

They have lots of monkeys and it was well worth the visit. In addition to the various types of stray monkeys, there are of course also many who live safely separated.

Great place to spend a day, with or without children. Enough facilities to eat something. A monkey bag is recommended, the monkeys are very dexterous. Beautiful and well maintained and very educational.

On May 28, 2017 I went to vist Apenheul. Apenheul is one of the worst animal zoo in the world. There are almost no monkeys to watch at all. Many of the sightseeing points are empty. Unlike what these Dutch people say that there are hundred different species of apes, you will find about 3-4 types only. e.g. chimpanzee, orangutan, small monkeys with white hair and black face(dun know their names). There is NO gorilla in this zoo but their web site shows that they have!!! The small white mickeys are the most common species in the zoo. All animals are unhealthy, sad and dying in this zoo. The only 4 chimpanzee in this zoo are losing hair, weak and lying on dirty floor. The glass cage is very small. Children are terrorizing small animals and their parents are laughing and encouraging them. Orangutans are lying in open field and not moving. There are only 3 of them. I think that they are dying soon. All the display windows of animal shelters are full of dried liquid, fingerprints, hand palm stains and scratches at all. The Dutch people and the tourists are abusing these animals daily but they are making 10 millions euro every year(yearly income listed in their web sites). The web sites list 28 sightseeing points but many of them are children playground of wooden houses and bridges hanging in the trees. Mechanical carousel at site no. 28 is the final point without apes, too. Finally the entry price is too expensive for this junk yard!

Fantastic!! A large zoo with many stray monkeys. Enthusiastic employees who love to tell something about the animals. The animals have a very large habitat and are well cared for. Really a nice outing to do, also for children.

Great zoo full of monkeys where more than half are loose. Will remain a super fun park. Been there 4 times in my life now. Easy parking. Easy to walk on for wheelchairs, walker, mobility scooters and prams. Before you arrive at the park you can first walk through a beautiful park.

Insanely beautiful park. Admission is almost too low for such a great park. Almost all enclosures are accessible. The safety of the animals comes first. Much is told and explained about these creatures. Parking is plentiful, but quite far from the entrance. Running time approx. 15-20 minutes.

First of all, of course, one expects the little monkeys to jump on or even touch them ... that's not the case, of course ;-) The system itself is great, in my opinion very animal-friendly. We were there during the week and not during the holidays, so everything was super free. In the first hour you are of course super happy about the free-walking monkeys, but after a certain time you realize that they are completely uninterested in you and then only look at the remaining monkeys from a distance. The entrance fee is very expensive, but if you can see the size and structure of the enclosure as well as the manpower, it is okay. However, 8.30 for parking is more than outrageous! Our journey was 150km, we will definitely not go there again for the "additional costs".
