Dealing with anytime fitness Rugby and the UK Supp...

Dealing with anytime fitness Rugby and the UK Support Centre has been one of the worst experiences I have had with any company.

They are only interested in taking money, so if at any point you want to cancel your membership this franchise is not for you.

Their T&C's state that you need to give 1 months written notice, however the fantastic part is they don't read any of the emails you send via the online submission or the complaints despite this saying I will have a response within 48 hours.

The manager of Rugby is about as useful as a chocolate fire guard and the UK support centre doesn't have a customer service department so there isn't really any escalation process.

I only found this out after sending a recorded letter that I can only believe ended up in the bin! After chasing up my letter with clubwise and anytime I got put back on the phone with the chocolate fireguard.

Eventually I got a name out of him of someone to speak to at the UK centre and I had to scroll through the internet to get a number for them. I rang the centre, spoke to the chap in Marketing who said their name must of been given because "the manager likes me".

I was PROMISED a response the next day and yet I'm still waiting 5 days on. Try ringing now and miraculously everyone is in a meeting.

Not a happy customer, I am getting the email for the Chief operating officer and taking it to the top.

Stay away from these cowboys.

Edit - I have just noticed the reply below, this company still has not addressed the fact then never once replied to me in the first instance, they were quite happy to disregard the written notice as stated in the T&C's to continue taking money which is clearly all they care about.

Finally I don't refuse to deal with the club, I want answers which is what I'm not getting. They are just saying I refuse to deal so they don't have to contact me back.

Harassment, bullying and the inability to respond to emails or phone calls. Maybe if the staff spent less time on their phones and filming for social media, they may be available to take calls. Wanting to pay my bill and end my contract but seems I m not allowed to do that. Absolute joke of a gym and no one has a clue! Not in to intimidation tactics that this gym company uses and I m certainly not the only person to have this reaction.

I am not happy with anytime fitness at Sheffield arena the gym closed down and took a full month money of me. I need a refund and there is nobody to talk to about my cancellations and my refund. I am not happy at all some one get in touch who knows about refunds ;!!!!!!

I thought I was the only one but it seems not Woolwich anytime fitness gym is disgusting After many times ringing the gym & was told they would ring me back they never did :(
So had to go into the gym & cancel my membership due to bad back , paid up to end of membership .. then notice they where still taking money out of my bank ? So ringing them many times with no joy !

I've had a issue with anytime fitness sutton in ashfield during the covid-19. I had to cancel my direct debt because lack of funds. But I contacted the gym to inform them of this and I asked them to freeze my account and they said it is frozen. And now they have text me telling me they can not freeze my account because the direct debit is not active. During this hard time in the world surely they should be understanding?. I also asked them to cancel my membership because I'm not receiving the service I signed up for because the gym is closed and they just keep asking me for money and to set up a direct debt they dont care or have and understand about this current situation we are all in. this is sickening that a company can act like this I want to end my membership but I can not what sort of gym is this ? I fear I will have to take legal action about this because they are totally out of order.

Signed up for 12 months. After all 12 payments made I tried to cancel on the website. This funct was the only thing on website that did not load tried opening the link in a new tab but nothing. So cancelled direct debit. Recieved a text saying account in arrears need to pay another 35 quid to cancel. Paid this still can't cancel. Emailed head office no response emailed and called the local Paignton branch and the manager is never there to speak all I want to do is cancel an apparent rolling direct debit which I was not made aware of when signing up as i only signed up for 12 months. I want to be able to speak to someone

No phone number, no reply to emails or complaints, I tried cancelling due to my mother being ill and me having to relocate and care for her and was met with an extremely rude branch manager (basingstoke) who refused to cancel & promised to freeze my account 2-3 months ago yet payments are STILL coming out. I haven't set foot in the gym in months, I don't plan to EVER again as I've never dealt with staff that are so rude and who make you feel uncomfortable stepping foot in the gym. Anytime fitness is THE WORST gym chain I've ever witnessed, 0 customer care as they just want your money and ignore everything else.

Joined the Ashton-under-lyne branch over a month and a half ago, they sold us a PT special offer (with gym access) then permanently closed the gym 2 days later with no warning. Since the day it closed we've asked for refunds and we've got nothing! Just promises that it would be returned within 5-7 days... a month and a half later and still nothing. No way to get in contact directly with the company aside from Facebook as they don't answer their emails. I definitely won't be joining with them again and won't be recommending them either.

I was a member of the Chelsea branch. Fully paid up until lockdown. I cancelled my direct debit owing nothing only to get demands for 2 months money when we were in lockdown and they were closed. Went in when they were open FIVE TIMES trying to resolve this, was told I would get a call back each time, Sent email no one ever called. Today when I was going to hopefully re-join got an email from a CREDIT COLLECTION AGENCY for 3 times the amount that I still don t owe!!!! Forget this company. Thieves
