Amazing location and the room configuration to align with the charges. Overall impression is that the room furniture and finishes are now looking dated in comparison to refurbished competition offers in Hyatt and Hilton for example. With a new building replacing 'Sirius' in front and depending on how tall it may be, the views for this hotel would get challenged somewhat. No other comments as service to everything else was super.

The score would have been a 5 but for our very poor experience in the Altitude restaurant. The initial table was very small.,rocky and cramped. Eventually they moved us to another table which was directly under the air conditioning. The food was ordinary and was not worth the price.

We chose to stay at the Shangri-La every year for our anniversary. The service is 10/10 and the view of the harbour is unbeatable. Rooms are always well maintained. Horizon club lounge is wonderful. Only problem we found this visit was the water pressure in the shower kind of trickled out. Other than that another fantastic stay.

I just loved the attention to detail in my room, it was comfortable. the amenities were beautiful.
I was there on conference and I have to say that you have one incredible staff member " Jay" that was running the Saturday team on catering. This young man was undoubtedly the perfect representation of the quality of your hotel. His attention to detail, his manner, his personality, his helpfulness was extraordinary, I hope you are able to pass my message on to him. and I have no hesitation in recommending him for his future roles in your Hotel group..

The hotel is beautiful, but the the check in lady was unpleasant and extremely unhelpful. There was extremely low care factor, she was disinterested and quite obnoxious. It was very clear she was in a bad mood and unhelpful when I explained my credit card was new and I didn't have a pin. She said I would have to wait for my colleagues before she could check me in even though the room was prepaid. I asked if she could take a manual imprint and she agreed, - but I had to come up with the solution. I had called twice that day to try to find out if my room would be ready before I came across town to check in and both times I hung up due to being transferred and eventually on the third call I was told it couldn't be confirmed because they were busy checking out other guests. The hotel is truly stunning and the roof top bar amazing.

Great hotel, view, service and valet. Ive made it a yearly tradition taking my partner for her birthday and the Vivid festival opening whilst enjoying the Opera View Room. Its our second time staying. Level 36 is fantastic with great cocktails and view. The Altitude restaurant was fantastic along with the spa and swimming pool. We had the buffet breakfast on our last morning and it was excellent.

Please train staff how to fit masks. In Altitude we had someone explaining our food to us with their nose exposed talking over our food. Their excuse was that they had their hands full. Unacceptable. They need lessons in fitting masks so they don't drop off.
The Lobby Bar had dirty tables and no provision for sanitising or cleaning the tables as there were simply too many clients and not enough staff to be COVID safe. Felt uncomfortable there.
We booked a Club room. Hours changed without warning. No breakfast available on Monday morning in the club without any warning. Apparently it was on a welcome letter which we never received. Not overly happy.

Lovely hotel, great location, good food and excellent customer service. Only problem during our stay was getting stuck in the lift due to a malfunction, however the staff were very supportive and mindful of our safety.

The hotel is very comfortable , spotless and well-appointed and the staff are great. The location is excellent. We loved that the room had a doorbell. Best bathrobes ever. The view from the bar overlooking the city and harbour is spectacular. It is not the hippest or most exciting hotel in Sydney but it is a very safe and comfortable option with the kind of excellent hotel service you'd expect.

I paid a lot of money to stay in suite 3312 for my wife s 30th Birthday. We were disappointed to find that when we went to make a cup of tea and enjoy the view in our room the teapot was still dirty with tea in the bottom remaining from previous guests. The smell was revolting. When we retired for the night we wanted to watch a movie in bed, however the TV in the bedroom was not working. Admittedly the TV in lounge area worked fine but we wanted to enjoy a movie in bed. Pretty disgusting service for the money we paid I feel.

On Friday & Saturday we stayed at Shangri La Sydney to celebrate my retirement. When we first got into the room the TV didn't work but was repaired quickly. We wanted to have a drink shortly after arriving and found there were no wine glasses so I rang and ordered glasses & a bucket of ice. It took 40 minutes and only arrived after a second phone call. The safe then broke down and after informing the front desk the next morning it was repaired but broke down again Saturday evening so we didn't get to use it at all. On Saturday morning after first night stay we attended and spoke with the front desk staff about our key access as we had booked the two nights separately and we were told to go to the front desk on Saturday morning to have the keys re-set but were then told they were ready. We walked up to shops for the day but arrived back at 2.30pm to rest and then go out for dinner. The keys didn't work so we attended the front desk again sorted out the key access. When we eventually arrived back in our room, it hadn't been serviced but I chased the cleaners who then serviced it. Whilst away that morning a bowl of fruit had been left which was a nice gesture but there were no plates or cutlery which would of been helpful. Later in the evening the Bathroom flooded when emptying the bath and we used all our towels to stop the water going onto the carpet. I called and it was repaired quickly but I then had to ring for towels and I had to ring a second time for the towels as they hadn't arrived 30 minutes later and we were still trying to get ready for dinner. The only good thing about the whole stay was dinner in on Saturday night at Altitude.
My wife is very upset as she had organised this weekend to celebrate my retirement and expected it to be a great weekend as the Shangri La is where we stayed for our wedding night.

The room was very nice, exceptional view and clean, the only minor issue was the bathroom door in the room didn't close.
The food in the buffet for breakfast was very average and did not fall inline with the rest of the hotel standards.
The service in Horizen Club on the 30th floor was excellent.
The service overall during the stay was excellent, I found all stay were friendly and courteous.
The big let down for me was the breakfast and that entire breakfast area which looks very tired and in need of a major overhaul.

Loved the experience in the Horizon Lounge Thanks to Sheikh, Alice, Tiffany, Francesca, Oskar and the rest of the team for making our special occasion a night to remember. Hospitality at the highest level. Also a special thanks to Roman from the Blu Bar as well. Exceptional venue and great team.

The staff is super nice and the rooms can have awesome views of Sydney.
But the processes are archaic and not reliable; getting a copy of receipt involved 3 overseas calls, getting my points credited in the loyalty program another 3 btw different departments. And the decor is a little bit old.

Everything was fine. Until I checked my bank statement and was charged an extra $43.

When I called enquiring about the fee I was told there was no transactions to my card shown on their end - so I forwarded up by emailing a screenshot of my transactions where I was notified that the "minibar team thought I consumed something from the minibar".....seems a bit suspicious, not sure how you can stuff that one up.... make sure you check your accounts.

Very pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a suite when our original room wasn't ready on arrival. The Horizon Club is great and well worth the extra cost. A very nice touch was the champagne and chocolates delivered to our room on day 2. All the staff we had dealings with were courteous, professional and very helpful

The Shangri-La is absolutely Luxurious, we had a harbour view room, and I could not fault the hotel. The rooms were large, clean and opulent.
We ate at Cafe Mix three times, it was that good.
I am not the easiest person to please, however, the Shangri-La ticked every box for me.
We had our two children with us, and they went out of their way to accomodate them.
To say I loved the hotel, would be an understatement. It was EPIC!

The uninterrupted panoramic view of all of the Harbour's attractions from Premier room was priceless. I booked it for 5 nights as a surprise for my wife and she had a real wow moment when I walked her with eyes shut to the window and asked her to open them. She spent most of the time in the room looking out. The breakfast was only limited in comparison to other Shangri-las we've stayed at around the Region, potentially being top notch in Australia, and some room furniture will need to be updated as the time goes by. That being said, all queries we had were dealt with extremely promptly and staff at the hotel are truly wonderful.

Beautiful views and quality service. Make sure you get the upgraded package so you get club access breakfasts and afternoon drinks.

I think the food is overpriced at both the rooftop restaurant and the tea room, so ask the staff for some local recommendations. We went to a really authentic Thai restaurant that was a few miles away instead and it was great!

There is also a decent sized gym here, if you re looking to get in a good workout.

Upmarket hotel in great location - a few minutes walk to The Rocks and Sydney Harbour Bridge, with views over Sydney Opera House.

The gym was a bit small and the adjacent outside area was unattractive with views of the freeway - but that s the only downside of the location. The buffet breakfast selection could have been better (in terms of fruit etc.) but freshly prepared eggs were quickly served and perfectly cooked.

Lovely staff throughout. Would definitely stay again.

I felt misled by the confirmation email. I paid $835 for the Drive in Package for special occasion with my wife and the confirmation email lead me to think I had access to the Horizon Lounge. When my wife and I tried to go up to Level 30 for a drink at 7pm my room key would not access L30. Confused I went down to reception with my wife where I was told , in a brusque "you're just trying it on" tone of voice and attitude that I did not qualify as I had not upgraded to a Horizon room. I was embarrassed and I do not expect to be treated like that. I am a CEO of a significant organisation and I will not be back.

Luxury hotel. Five-star preferred by Asian guests. Located in the rocky area, but in the middle and quiet. The train, light rail and ferry are all walking distance. It is also walking distance from the bridge and the city center of the Opera House. There are many high- and mid-range restaurants in the surrounding area, and the restaurant and BAR on its own roof are unique. The scenery is excellent. If the economy permits, try to choose the high floor and GRAND VIEW room types for a better experience. The room is not new, but it is very clean and big, and all details will satisfy you. The service of the hotel also upholds the tradition of Shangri-La, making you feel at home.

I was expecting big things of this hotel. I pride my business on customer service and so was expecting even better from such a prestigous hotel.

The room was very nice as was the view, it was spacious and clean. There were lots of nice little touches and I couldn't fault it.

The receptionist in training on check in was fairly rude and didn't seem to be supervised despite two others standing around. I booked a room without breakfast and was advised my room included it. I went to breakfast and was advised that it was $40 dollars or so for breakfast but if I'd booked the night before it would have been $30. They corrected this but frankly it should never have happened in the first place. The actual breakfast itself astonishingly was probably one of the worst I've had. I travel a lot for business and courses and despite their being a large range - none of it was particularly nice. If I'd had to pay full price I would have been particularly upset.

The final thing - the elevators were unbelievably slow. Despite their being 6 of them there was on average a 3-5 minute wait. When you're meeting people and trying to get around etc this is unbelievably annoying.

I'm not sure whether mine was just a one off mediocre experience or if I was expecting more but I'm really not sure if I would book here again just based on the customer service.
