I was really pleased with the pool and the gym. The quality of the equipment and the support (towels, water, etc) was very helpful. The tv was too loud in the gym and we couldn't find the remote but the desk person went overboard to search the area to try to find it, so that was really appreciated.

The breakfasts are dangerous :-) very glad you had so many healthy options as well. I'm also really glad you have the take-away kiosk in the main lobby too with good selections there; the coffee and tea were really good and it was easy to get something 'to go' when I didn't have time for a sit down.

The location of Shangri-La is excellent as well. So close to the Quay and the Rocks without being in the thick of the noise from the restaurants, etc.

Nowhere else I d stay in Sydney! The best view not only of the harbor bridge, but the opera house too! Staff was incredible, the room was beyond spacious, and did I mention the view? Shangri-La has me counting down the days until I return!

Great check in, recognised I was Golden Circle which I had forgotten. Fruit delivered to room immediately and addressed me by name the next day. Housekeeping was also good. Great location for my trip.

Check In/Out was a breeze, staff lovely, the bed & pillows were a dream- so much so that I slept past the alarm! But the lovely front desk staff were more than happy to extended me which was greatly appreciated! The views were gorgeous; shame about the rain but I will definitely book here again!

Staff (especially the concierges and housekeeping staff) were kind and helpful. The room was spacious, clean, and quiet. The hotel location is ideal: A short walk to the Rocks, the Royal Botanical Garden, the Museum of Contemporary Art, and Darling Harbor.

the hotel was very busy, the horizons club staff were good as usual but it appeared to us they were under staffed for the volume of horizon club users and under a great deal of stress. this made the customary personal service a bit lacking.

It is near from station, but it is very difficult when there are steep slopes and you have big luggage!
The view was good, but it was a room with an opera house view, but it looked quite sharp from the window and could not usually be seen.

It may depend on the room.

Amazing experience. The staff were so accommodating and friendly. Little touches such as giving us window tables for meals and little treats because it was my girlfriend's birthday. Great facilities, beautiful rooms and views. Will be back for sure

More than I would normally pay. But the room was amazing and the staff could not be any friendlier or more accommodating. Best place ive stayed in Sydney. Highly recommended to friends. Will definately be staying there again.

Very average room. Dated. No connection for new iPhones. Old dressing gowns. Marks on walls. Only real redeeming factor was the shower, amazing water pressure. Everything else was not reflective of the Shangri-La brand. Stayed in many hotels in Sydney - much better experiences to be had.

Excellent room, amazing service, overall a great hotel. Only one mistake with rockmelon in my partners fruit platter after we said he was allergic but in saying this it was solved within a couple of minutes so still satisfied.

For a hotel paying premium rates in the middle of Sydney, your reception staff need training in both customer service and to also improve their English when dealing with clients over the phone.

While my experience at the hotel was nice enough (except basic black tea bags are not a standard in the rooms), when I handed my card in at check-in it wasn't handed back.

I am now on hold for the third time today as each time I have phoned I have been told they will check for the card and phone back. No-one has yet called back five hours later.

I have now been on hold for 10 minutes and one woman accidentally took the call off hold and said "oh you found it" and I have now been put back on hold.

Eleven minutes and counting.

The room was fantastic with a panoramic view of Sydney harbour and Opera house.
All staffs in horizon club were really great! They took care of everyone with intensive attention.
Specially thanks to Vicki, Jay, Malvina, Oscar, Kiki, Lincy, Amedeo, Poonam and so on.
Vicki came from HK and shared lots of her good advices to my girls. This was awesome!

I would say whatever the price, location and hotel quality, Shangri La hotel should be the best in Sydney.

Blu- I would give it a 6 for the view and a 5 for the house special cocktails. The manager was lovely as he got us a table although we didn t have reservations at the Blu. The waitresses can be pushy with the drinks hence the 4 stars. But definitely recommend a visit!

WE WERE SO IMPRESSED WITH THE HOTEL, WE HAVE STAYED QUITE A FEW TIMES AND THE SERVICE IS EXCEPTIONAL BUT THIS TIME IT WENT BEYOND - I MENTIONED WHEN I BOOKED THAT IT WAS MY HUSBAND'S BIRTHDAY. On arrival in our room there was a bottle of champagne, box of chocolates and a birthday cake - we were so impressed.

The so called room with a view of the Opera House ...

The so called room with a view of the Opera House and City were overstated. Lifts were delayed and there was was nothing in place to make up the inconvenience. Access to a seat on level 36 was shared with anyone with no preferential assignment given to guests of the Shangri La.
Above the most disappointing was the view from the room. Looking at 2 high rise Appartments is not a view of the city as promised let alone the Opera House that was more of a side glimpse than view. Disappointing during Vivid.

Lack of staff in Altitude restuarant, Horizon Club on Level 36 very poor.
What annoyed me the most was that I had ordered a bottle of French Champagne for our anniversary for our arrival as specified in the package which was totally forgotten about until I had to call them up after dinner on Thursday night. They then delivered the bottle which too late.

The location was good but i think the four seasons might have been better due to the hills in Sydney CBD. I must point out though:
1. Rooms were a good size
2. Beds really comfortable
3. Bathrooms really good
4. The showerhead was Awesome. We wanted to stay under it all day.
5. Little details go a long way - the toothbrushes are color coded and even a hair tie is provided daily. Both these things really impressed me!
Thankyou

Very disappointing. Hotel is very ordinary. Not at all what we expected from a Shangri La. This is a very tired property. Also seems understaffed. No 5 star hotel anywhere restricts access to the fitness center before 7 am except this hotel. To enter earlier one must contact guest services and wait for a security guard. No one on staff in the gym ever, though there is a gatekeeper for part of the day at the desk where one enters the pool and fitness center. You have cameras in the gym and people paying premium prices to stay in a 5 star hotel can you really not trust them to be in the gym before 7? The card entry system is on the wall. Why not use it? This smacks of ruthless budgeting not normally found at a 5 star property. I was embarrassed that I also recommended the hotel to friends who were with us for this visit. This experience, combined with the fact that my points in your loyalty program expire annually, have totally turned me off to this brand. FYI, I stay in 5 star hotels ~100 days per year.

View from the Blu bar on level 36 is a must if you are visiting Sydney, but it got uncomfortably hot sitting next to one of the western facing windows, when the sun was setting. But I'd go back anytime!

I booked it in Shangri-La because it was a honeymoon and the view was good.
Thank you for welcome champagne and chocolate
It was nice that the cleaning was always well done.
The breakfast was delicious, and the staff were always kind and helpful, and I was very grateful for having a romantic seat at the Blue Bar for guiding my couple to a good view.
There is only one regrettable thing that everyone knows, but since it is on the hill, it seems that it is difficult to recommend it to older adults.
It goes well in many ways.
Thank you for welcoming my couple to congratulations. I will make good memories in Sydney.

We went to the Altitude restaurant for a birthday dinner. We had the 7 course degustation menu. The attention, service and presentation of the dishes was great. First half of the menu was great as well, the second less so in that it was quite a bit influenced by the Korean cousine. That by itself isn't a bad thing however we didn't come for Korean food. I don't recall it being mentioned anywhere in the menu. I also felt still hungry which shouldn't happen after a 7 course meal where you're going to spend 170+pp.

The view from the 20th floor is stunning .... the sails of the opera house dominate the horizon, immersed in the blue of the bay! Very kind and professional reception staff, very discreet, helpful and polite cleaning staff. The rooms are well equipped, spacious, very clean and equipped with every comfort.

Last night my wife and I pulled upto the Shangri La Sydney and we had a lovely gentleman who goes by the name of Tony the doorman greet us. His service to us was exceptional, we were blown away by his politeness and willingness to help. He is a true assett to this hotel as great customer service starts from your first point of contact with the team at the front line and then follows through past the glass doors. He has a very important position that helps the image of an international hotel name like Shangri la. Please pass on this message to him letting know how greatful we are.

We love the Sydney "Shang" It is and will be our home when we are in Sydney. Great people (staff) and great service from arrival till checkout.
Disappointed Cafe Mix is no longer open for lunch. I loved the Asian themed dishes on the menu.

Been to Cafe Mix overseas in Asia and was hoping the Sydney one would be just as abundant but it's much smaller. The food is good in variety and a fair amount of seafood (for those who like to go to buffets for the seafood).

We had cocktails in the Blu bar before dinner in the Altitude restaurant. Our table had an awesome view of the Harbour Bridge & Opera House. The service was excellent & the food absolutely delicious. A brilliant venue for celebrating special occasions...would definitely recommend!
