Ameristar Casino Resort Spa St. Charles Review

I ate at the Buffet and it was incredible. The selection and quality was great for the price. I did not gamble so I cannot comment on that side of things.

My hotel room was so nice and I would recommend anyone to stay there

The air at this facility is nearly unbreatheable. It's filled with cigarette smoke at every corner. In this day and age, why can't people's health be put first? It seems that taking advantage of addictive personalities is the only thing this business takes into account when making decisions. Deceptive practices are abound at this facility.

Food was good, but the servers didn't ask us if we needed refills. Their only concern seemed to be that me and wife hurry up and finish eating so they could clean off the table.

They never gave me much in term of comps. But it's definitely a very beautiful place to go risk it all.

We parked in the parking garage in front of a camera and some thieves broke into our truck.. no one was caught and nothing was done .

Amazing experience I must say...I never thought St Louis has this hidden gem of a place. A mist visit to the casino and RYSE.

I was there to gamble this time though I've stayed here before. It has a large casino, with tons of slots and ample table games with much variety. If you can handle the smoke it's a good time. The hotel rooms are very nice as well, studio style with a step down living area. Pretty swanky.

This is a high class hotel. The rooms are very nice and spacious. The bathrooms are unbelievable for a hotel; they are so roomy and so well appointed. The service is excellent from check in to check out you are treated like royalty.

My incredible wife and I got married there and everything was wonderful. Truly an amazing time!

We went for the buffet on Easter. It was good, but not worth the $30 they were charging. I think it would be a great deal at $20.
Popped into the casino for a look around, it was really smoky, so didn't stay long.

Stopped in for dessert at the steakhouse. Decent prices and the quality was good. Seating area was clean and staff was helpful.

Love coming to Ameristar for a staycation! Hotel is clean with comfortable beds and pillows! Only issue I have is with the new pool hours. Adult only swim from 6 pm to close. I like that the adults get their own swim time but think it should start at around 8pm. Makes it difficult for families to enjoy if you are just staying one night amd check in is after 3pm. Other than that, I love the casino and love all of the restaurants! Overall great place!

The restaurant Asis was great. Good food and good service. The casino was a fun experience also. Nice chairs and very clean.

Always a problem. Machines break, they say "I'll call someone for you" and then they don't. Open 24 hours- except when they aren't, they are friendly as hell as they tell you to get away from the machines.... Why don't they candle that business while they are closed? But they don't. Just not fun.

Nice casino but the smoking has to stop. Everytime I visit I have to burn my clothing.

Went to the bottleneck blues bar and it was great. Nice area with a live band. I would reccomend.

Love it. Everyone is nice. We love the pool and hot tubs. My 6 year old loves that we can swim in the outside pool even when it's cold outside!!!

Slot are horrible, never see a waitress for drinks anymore

Beautiful and unique and huge. This place was well maintained with lots of restaurants and food choices. The room was five star plus. Clean, spacious with tons of amenities. The casino had three levels with a small non-smoking area. Breakfast at the diner was a treat. Shonnel impacted our dining experience with her happy, helpful demeanor. Need more folks like her for sure.
We will come back to enjoy another Ameristar awesome good time!

Great place alot of different food choices in a enclosed type mall setting,worth the trip

It's just a fun place to either win or lose some money plus they have nice rooms..

No help. Slots were not very friendly and the food was very overpriced. Nice place just cost to much to enjoy. More like a Vegas hotel then a Missouri hotel

I like this place and would come back but the bar closes down way to early and you have to stand in line to get drinks about( a 45 minute line)

This is for semi trucks warning Ameristar allows truck parking but they don't allow you to park there for your 10hr break by City Council there is an ordinance in place now they're starting to enforce it I did not know about this until I came back out of the casino and found a nice little note on my truck it said to whom it may concern Ameristar St Charles parking area are not available for long term overnight or unauthorized parking we are currently having signs posted at each end of lot identifying that any unauthorized parking result in the vehicle being towed at vehicle owner's expense I think on top of that if we can not take your break there we shouldn't be spending your money there because of the City Council of st. Charles mo is anti trucker I would avoid this place at all costs have a nice day and drive careful

Need more staff working on the floor..... waitress and change people. More cages open so no line weights to get your money back from either your chips and or your tickets.

Always can use more working soda stations with more cleaning staff on duty.

My husband and I stayed there over night to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. I requested a room with a view and we got exactly what we asked for! We could not have asked for a better experience! Thank you Ameristar for helping to make our day great!

I'm a truck driver and a poker player. I was informed by a buddy of mine that you no longer can park off S Main St beneath Ameristar Blvd. Is this true? Wow, Ameristar, St Charles, MO must be rolling in the Benjamins because truck drivers only park at casinos for one purpose... entertainment... well, and food... casinos generally have good restaurants to eat at. Thank god Ameristar, Kansas City, MO isn't as moronic as this place! Man, that place is wonderful! VERY truck friendly, good poker room, Pearl's is awesome, as is Great Plains Cattle Co. I live in Denver and Ameristar, Black Hawk, CO is also wonderful. To bad. Always at least one bad apple in every orchard.

I enjoyed my stay, the staff was very friendly, and happy. The Ameristar is very beautiful and clean. I won money and the food was delicious...I will definitely return!

Best hotel around. Far better than 5star four seasons downtown and closer to the airport I think.

I really like Ameristar. Whether you're here for a conference or a concert, the food options, bar options, and gaming options make it a prime destination in St. Charles. Particularly interesting is that it's the only 3am bar around I believe so it fills up after 1:30am til 3.

If you're bringing your kids, there is an arcade, diner, and sports bar. If you're too drunk to drive, there's a great hotel attached.

Big casino, lots of games but not the best payout it seems. Hotel SERIOUSLY needs to examine their staffs qualifications to be doing any sort of customer service..

It's a resort & casino. As I didn't go into the casino, and the purpose of the visit wasn't to gamble, I can only speak for the resort portion of Ameristar St. Charles. Staff was very courteous and pleasant to deal with. Some of the hallways were a little "dirty" but nothing a vacuum couldn't have fixed. The room was awesome. It was very clean and certainly the best value for a room I have ever had the pleasure to stay in. Should I find myself back in the St. Charles area, I would only want to stay there.

Well rounded casino, hotel, spa with several restaurants, nightclub and indoor/outdoor pool. Casino is reminiscent of a old Mississippi river boat that has a wide selection of games and seems to have a higher payout return than the downtown casinos. Many different restaurants for different tastes and budgets and a hotel with extra large well-appointed rooms with sunken living areas and floor to ceiling windows overlooking the Missouri river or St Charles and glassed in pool pavilion. The area is safe with plenty of parking and the staff members from valet to slot techs are pleasant and courteous. Weekends can be busy especially when there is a drawing or other promotion for locals and the second floor of the casino is now the non-smoking area.

The restaurants and casino was so worth going. Will be going back

I've stayed in the HOTEL .. Eaten at All of the Restaurants , gambled various Days & evenings.The Staff , Security ,& Bartenders are Very tentative to their guests , Great Place to Meet up with Friends for a drink , & Try your LUCK !!!

Ameristar is such a lovely place for my family and I to visit on a frequent basis. We always feel valued and enjoy our time there. The environment is family friendly while also classy and upscale. Favorite casino by far!

Machines are tighter than a fat man in biker shorts.

There is no restaurant available for breakfast after 12pm...even room service does not serve! After being up late the night before gambling we got up late and wanted breakfast!!!

My husband and I went to the Ameristar 2 weekends in a row. Both times we had dinner at Pearls Oyster bar. The food was the best we ever had and the service at Pearls was top notch. This last weekend we enjoyed our dinner, my husband and I each had 1 mixed drink, which we did not even finish, then we decided to do some dancing at the nightclub attached to Pearls. We went outside for some fresh air and upon coming back in we were stopped by the bouncer telling us we were not allowed back in because we were showing signs of intoxication . I was stunned considering we each only had less than one drink and had spent an hour dancing. I asked him what we did that showed we were intoxicated. All he could say was that he did not have a specific example and we had to leave! I asked to speak to his manager, when his manager came over I asked him If we had done something to make them think we were intoxicated. He said no you haven t but you are showing signs of intoxication and you need to leave . At this moment a bigger man dressed in plain clothes walked over to me and said I am an out of uniform Missouri state trooper and if you don t leave now you will be going to f***ing jail . He did not show identification and was extremely aggressive, my husband and I walked outside and called our Uber. The Uber driver said he picked up people from the Ameristar over the last couple nights that said the same thing happened to them. I will never step foot on Ameristar property again!

Starting to get outdated with selections of slot machines. Other local casinos have cooler ones to play.

Great place for a good time. All of their restaurants are updated which is nice. Some of the finishes around the building are a bit dated. My recent visit was just for the buffet for a family celebration dinner. Very agreeable price point. It took a while to get seated but the staff was courtious and very helpful. The food was pretty good but there were a few items that missed the mark. Overall a great place to grab food or drinks and to gamble too.

Went to Ameristar for the new year ballon drop party. Was really fun!

Great way me and my life partner brought in the new year. We went in with $200 each & came out with a total of $700. LOVE IT

Ate at Asia for dinner. Food was surprisingly some of the best Chinese food I have eaten. Would definitely go back just for dinner.

Casino is well lit and laid out. Easy to find places within the resort. Hotel is a bit pricey for what you get.

Bets to high at tables. Like you guys are better then Vegas to have bets that high

I am so disappointed with the nanagement at Ameristar St. Charles. My sister and I decided to go do some gambling and have a drink or two after 6 days at the hospital with our mother. After dropping $400 between the two of us we were approached by LT and Tony, and were questioned on our sobriety. We decided to leave the establishment since they had the gall to question us after 3 bloody marys that we were served without question. We were sitting on a bench in the atrium when LT approached us not once but twice and said we could stay. That after review of their video it was concluded that we were not intoxicated. Never in my life have I been so humiliated for no reason. We have been on watch over our 80 year old mother who has had 2 major surgeries over the last 4 days. This was our night OFF and since we had a room for 5 nights we thought we could let off sone steam and have a good time. We were having a good time until this incident. I would hope that in the future you train your bartenders like other establishments to access a patrons sobriety to prevent embarrassing your customers. I hope anyone reading this thinks twice before giving Ameristar any business. I have never felt so belittled. And I am sad. This is where over the years we would gather with family and friends to celebrate different occasions.

Was there last night and told my plus 1 to lower his tone because he was excited about winning....but others get loud as well when winning but said something to us.

We ate at the Landmark Buffet for the second time. It just isn't that great and definitely not worth the expense. Meats are either dry, overseasoned, or both. Many other things have no flavor. Lots of food was dried out, cold, or just not tasty. The desserts are all commercial, as are the things like soup or cole slaw. I wish they would make some/more stuff themselves. The variety is poor for a buffet as well. I also wish they could better separate the cigarette smoke/casino from the rest of the place, which is supposed to be non-smoking but I saw no enforcement of this. Also, there should be advertisement for what you're getting/what you're paying for at the buffet. For instance, Saturday night is a seafood buffet, and is double expensive over their normal buffet, but you have no way of knowing this if you just show up to eat. You are charged, with no explanation. There are no prices or explanation of which buffet is which night anywhere. The smell of this crab leg buffet is overwhelming and if you don't like seafood, you want to avoid eating there on Saturday. When we were there last night (Friday night, steak and seafood), we weren't told to wait to be seated or that this was how things worked. We paid and nothing more was said to us. We passed by a stand that was apparently where we were supposed to stop and wait to be seated but the employees there were too busy in personal conversation to notice us. So, we unknowingly seated ourselves and then got into trouble by a very surprised and flabbergasted server with poor communication skills. Save the money and go to a steakhouse for a good meal similarly priced. If you want a buffet, Golden Corral is honestly better and cheaper, with much more variety.

Truck and RV parking available on lower level. Awesome buffet and tons of slot machines and entertainment. Hotel is pricey but I heard the rooms are really nice.

Wide selection of games. Casino feels in good shape even after 16 years since it's major overhaul. Some video poker units could be replaced as speakers are blown.

Great buffet, however when you have a group they won't let some sit until everyone that is coming is present.

Stayed in a room with a friend. Parked in the north garage and took around 5 minutes to get from the car to the 17th floor. Was really easy to find everything, signage was great. Room was really good, beds were super soft, lots of pillows, little surprises everywhere that made the room feel great.

Nice place but unfortunately smoking is permitted inside.

Best place to gamble and full experience all around, music , food

They screwed up quite a lot during our stay. Service wasn't great. The hallway where we stayed was dirty - literally sand and debris on the floor the whole time, and it smelled like urine for the 5 days we were there for a meeting. They didn't service our room each day like they should have, which isn't a huge deal but one day we ran out of towels and they didn't bring any even when we asked. The meeting space was adequate. I am not a gambler so didn't visit the casino. Food was alright in the places we ate.

First off let me start by saying that EVERYTHING about this place was AMAZING! From the entrance to the hallways to the room, it was phenomenal. You can't beat the price, the location and the casino is great! Even the drinks were good! I've never been so satisfied with a hotel in my life. The staff was friendly and the entire property was so clean and well maintained. I am planning to come back with my boyfriend and my family! 5 stars all around, I felt like a superstar at this resort.

Loved it nice places to eat, and a lot going on at the casino areas

Vary bad customer service. We were waiting at table for 2 hours to play blackjack. They are short on staff. At the last minute just before the first serv another pitboss came to table and asked us that on of the players should give his seat to some other guy who reserved that seat some time ago. And it can not be any seat at the table , but this specific one. We were talking with other pitboss multiple times during those 2 hours and all that time he knew that we are waiting for game at that table. We were company of 5 and we left.

Beautiful experience. It feels like walking into another a town inside a town. The staff was courteous and helpful, while still having fun personalities. Everything seemed very clean too.
