the worst customer service i have ever dealt with ...

the worst customer service i have ever dealt with in my 49 years on this planet. the store manager Marcus is the only reputable person here, he has tried to help me multiple time, although there service and customer care scheduling is not only non caring they cant even read the notes to know their instructions and set times,i have never wrote a review negative to anything or anyone in my life. i wouldn't recommend this place for any sale.
I will sleep on concrete before i ever step foot in this store for a purchase again. i can only say i wish i had stayed with Steinhafels or etc furniture. i did save money here and unfortunately i am paying for it now. unprofessional after the sale, the delivery and service is no good.give your hard earned money to etc and or Steinhafels.

FYI; i had to select one star to post otherwise it would be zero stars.

A review on our customer experience at Madison Furniture & ApplianceMart

TL;DR I would not shop there again. And I would strongly encourage anyone looking for a good customer experience to take your business anywhere other than here. The in store experience was pleasant enough, but the post-purchase support was god awful. Read on for details.

Our customer experience with Madison Furniture & ApplianceMart has been extremely subpar. We purchased a new $1500 couch in May, received it in poor condition, and here we are in October still waiting for it to be properly repaired.

The Good:
-In store purchasing experience was pleasant. The salesperson showed us all the options that met what we were looking for. She didn t come across as overly pushy or sales-pitchy .

The Bad:
-We have been waiting for 6 months (and counting) since our purchase for our new couch to be in NEW condition. It came off the delivery truck with numerous blemishes, and the vendor hasn t been able to execute an effective repair since. Here s a timeline of Furniture & ApplianceMart s numerous customer care fumbles up to this point.
--We purchased our new couch in mid-May 2015.
--By end of May the couch was delivered on time, but had numerous blemishes on the surface requiring repair.
--Early June Initial repair man came out to fix the blemishes, but needed to order new parts.
--Our order for new parts was lost or misplaced, and we did not hear back from ANYONE until I had to call them in mid-August (almost 3 full months later) asking on status of our repair.
--They then got the order correctly processed and a repair man came back out with the new parts in early September, but they ordered the wrong parts.
--They scheduled us for another repair this week or next (mid-October)
--I receive a call today stating that they ordered the wrong parts AGAIN!!
--I m now going to need to take off work for a FOURTH time when the repair man comes (in their ever-so-convenient 2-3 hour time window in the middle of the work day) just to receive what should have been our exciting and brand new couch.

Minor Annoyance:
-The sales floor is definitely a sales shark-like environment. We were left alone for a moment after working with our saleswoman. Another salesperson came up and asked what we were looking for. When I politely informed him that we were already being helped by another salesperson, the second salesperson got a clearly disgruntled look on his face, turned around, and bee-lined it out of there without another word. Not a huge problem, but a bit rude!

Ordered a furniture set over a month ago. Had a delivery date of Monday set up. In short, they cancelled and rescheduled for Thursday. At 6:35 PM they finally call and say they won t be making it. They said someone would contact me the next day to discuss options. I call today and they say the delivery managers don t speak to customers. I ask for manager and they say that she was on lunch. Still waiting on call back. Had to call back 3 hours later and still nothing is done. I ended up talking to manager and said nothing could be done and I asked for her name. She wouldn't give it to me. She ended up hanging up on me. They seem to not care to deliver furniture as long as they have the money.

We were looking for a reclining sofa, and Ashley had a much larger selection than did the other furniture store we looked at. We ended up buying a clearance model at a good price, sofa seems really solid. I have to give compliments to the delivery team. They were friendly and professional. We were 8th on the delivery list, and I can only imagine how exhausted they must've been at the end of the day.

What really tipped the scales in Ashley's favor though was that they were willing to pick up the old sofa for a small fee and dispose of it. When you don't have the means to dispose of furniture, that means a lot. The other furniture store we visited told us we had to make our own arrangements to dispose of the old sofa, and that all of the other furniture stores in town operated the same way. Yeah, we could've called a couple of junk haulers, but that would have been an extra step and cost for us.

Check in with Jennifer H. She is gracious and helpful to all. I was met with curiosity about my plansituation and given exceptional advise and options. She even allowed time for dreaming about possibilities. There was no rush. She just made time and gave me her attention. I will be back.

Loveseat we bought got back ordered. No big deal. Then on the date that they rescheduled to, we were told the loveseat would be to our house after noon. We wait, wait, then at 10:45PM we get a message saying our delivery has been delayed by EIGHT DAYS! Extremely frustrating to have to deal with that considering the loveseat was supposedly on a truck for delivery at some point.

Greeted at the door and after several questions about what we were looking for the sales lady walked us to the various spots to see what each company had to offer. I didn't expect to purchase a couch that day but we found exactly what we wanted and within the price range we could afford. Good experience.

Will only cautiously shop here again. Attempted mattress shopping here, but an older male salesperson made that very difficult and uncomfortable. He constantly spoke to my husband as if I wasn't there, made suggestive and inappropriate remarks, and made a comment to my husband that if I were to get to over 300 pounds, he should "stop feeding me." Such a gross shopping experience. I don't come to a furniture store to hear comments about my personal life. I come to BUY something.

Came back a few months later just to glance at a particular model and that salesperson seemed very knowledgeable and professional. I don't remember his name, but he shared with us that he used to work in orthopedics or had knowledge of spinal alignment, which is a helpful perspective when choosing a mattress.

Salesperson Jenny H. is amazing. She is smart, fun, and honest. She had our back when one of the pieces we bought was delivered and of poor quality. She had straight access into customer service, management, and even the owner to make it right! Go to Jenny H. if you choose to shop at Ashley - Madison!

There s a constant threat of a price increase if you don t buy immediately. Want to think about it overnight? Good luck, you'll be told the price won't be the same tomorrow!

When you do decide to purchase furniture, you can t because the sales associate you originally worked with isn t there and nobody else wants to help. The one time we actually managed to get pricing from a sales associate, it was wrong. When we asked for a quote via email, we got no response from multiple sales associates.

Can t come up with even one good reason to buy from this place.

** Update **
Management reached out and apologized, asking to earn back our business; however, even the management team failed to return my phone calls or respond via email.

If you're looking for Palliser, skip Furniture & ApplianceMart and head to Rubins.

Purchased a $12,000 Temper! Everytime I came back to talk to someone about my discomfort! "YOU NEED TO TALK TO YOUR SALESPERSON! OR You need to give it more time for your body to adjust! Yes I did all of that know I go to get it exchanged " No its past the trial period! Never again will I purchase from this store!! I'm out $12,000! Buyer beware!! I've also called 3 times -- always on hold - no one called back -

I bought a table on Sunday and I went to pick up on Tuesday.
I hired a uhaul semi truck and reached their store on the Tuesday afternoon. Their informed me that they do not allow pickup on Tuesday and Wednesday.

I pleaded them to help me because I already paid for uhaul but their staff were rude and not helpful.

No safety equipment or protocol?!

No safety equipment or protocol?!

Had an Ashley service technician show up this morning with no mask or gloves, told me he didn't have any safety equipment and then he was frustrated when I told him he can't come in the house. He also seemed like he was very much okay with not having any safety equipment and assured me "it's fine."

I called Ashley immediately after he left and am even more disappointed now. The agent on the phone confirmed that Ashley's policy was NOT that their service techs don't have to wear a mask. When I asked him whether they DID have a policy requiring service techs to wear masks I wasn't given an answer and, rather abruptly, was transferred to a manager line where I was asked to leave a message.

This is an unacceptable oversight on Ashley's part. Imagine the number of different people/homes/surfaces that man is going to come in contact with today alone. Best case scenario is that I misread his flippancy about safety stuff which might mean he is super vigilant about hand washing/not touching his face, etc.

Ashley Furniture needs to take this seriously before they are in the news for COVID-19 outbreaks.

My husband and I have been in this store before and while some encounters with sales reps have been annoying, the last visit was so bad that we actually left angry.
If you want to literally be followed around the store (we were followed the ENTIRE time we were there! So much so that we actually walked to avoid our 'salesperson')
We could tell she was staying close enough to eavesdrop on our conversations-it was violating and incredibly uncomfortable.
She also gave us her card and wrote her cell number on it so we could 'get in touch with her because it's a big store'. Clearly she didn't want us even asking questions to anyone else.
We were interested in a couch but because of our experience we left (walking around almost the entire store to avoid her) and ended up purchasing a rather expensive couch at another store.
Whatever high pressure sales tactics they're teaching people are not working. What a horrible experience. We will never ever return.

Take your money to A1 furniture if you want a specific Ashely piece. We have worked with them in the past and they were absolutely wonderful.

The furniture seems to be good quality. The sales lady was kind of aloof. They didn't have the loveseat which I was interested in and she didn't offer any help in seeing one either by having one brought in or at another location.

2 or 3 times I mentioned that I wanted a lazyboy recliner, but after showing me several recliner chairs she told me that they didn't have any.

They do deliver local for $100 no matter how many pieces you buy.

This was my absolute best furniture shopping experience I've ever had! The salesman gave me his total attention, listened to what I was looking for and knew the details of everything on the floor. The showroom itself was well lit, clean and set up nicely.

The atmosphere of this store is amazing. There is always a person there to greet and welcome you and steer you in the right direction. On our recent visit we were greeted by Mike B. He was very helpful in making our final purchase and has a great personality as well. A quality store with outstanding service.

The appliance sales was ... So sales driven. Sad because I was there to buy but because I wanted to do 10 minutes of research before my purchase he became not someone I would purchase from. Sales is important but once you lose the customer service aspect .... You've lost the trust about after sale. So we went to Best Buy for our appliances.

Worst experience possible! Our sales guy was great, but after that it s been down hill! We bought a sectional and ottoman on sale for $2500 in January and literally weeks after delivery the fabric started falling apart. We called Ashley in May and after a tech came to our house and noted we have dogs, they now try and blame this on pet damage . It s physically impossible for an entire couch, ottoman and the throw pillows to pill evenly throughout from pets. After many phone calls and being told they agree the fabric isn t holding up due to it either being the end of the fabric roll or just faulty, to being back and forth of told it s pet damage. 3 weeks ago they finally said they would come and reupholster everything, but it was worded as if they are doing us a favor. I have called weekly asking to set this up with either no response or someone telling me they will call me back later that same day with an appointment time. I m extremely frustrated and disappointed with this purchase and how Ashley has given us the runaround. We will never buy from Ashley again after this experience! They are trying to run us out of our warranty and/or exhaust us until we go away so they don t have to take care of their faulty furniture.

It s now almost September and I ve been dealing with this since May, worst possible customer service if you ask me! No purchase should require this much hassle! Don t be fooled by their American Made spiel they use to persuade you into buying from them, clearly it still doesn t hold up and they don t take any accountability when it comes to making it right!
