I've always enjoyed skiing at Alyeska, though I've never personally stayed the the resort overnight. They have military ski free Mondays and Santa's ski free day and you'll need to check the website for more details, but I've always really enjoyed skiing at Alyeska.

Pretty views on the back side. Was too cloudy / foggy / rainy to take the tram and get clear pics from the peak. Like most resorts, it was hoity-toity, but that's ok for short periods of time. After all, I'd rather wear a rope belt and have a million dollars vs wearing fancy clothes and have nothing saved.

My friend and I wanted a fun place to come and ski and get away. This is definitely the place. The hotel is an older hotel but has a lot of modern touches. It has several restaurants on site and is right on the ski slopes. So convenient to everything. there is a walking trail that goes down to Girdwood that starts right at the hotel. Loved the pool and hottub. There are specific hours for the adults in the pool area. During the afternoon when we went, lots of kids. Everyone was friendly and nice.

I stayed here over the summer and had an amazing time. The hiking was great and the food in town was great. The staff were very helpful and recommended a great whale watching trip for me. They also lent me bear spray for my hikes. I took the tram up and had a drink at the restaurant at the top which was super fun.

Disappointed. One of the major ammenitys available was the pool, but it's now by reservation only. Wish I was told this on booking so I could make a reservation... By the time we made a reservation only 1130-1230 am the next day was available and the worst part is that they wouldn't even give us checkout past noon so we could enjoy the pool. If your going to use reservations, ok, but let us know right away that we need to make those reservations and let us stay in our rooms long enough to clean up after! I hope they get these issues resolved. Seem like simple fixes to me

Ride the lift up to the restaurants at the top! The best value is the Seven Glaciers Restaurant - your lift ticket is free if you have reservations there. You can also buy a lift ticket/meal combo for the Bore Tide Deli, but the food is better at Seven Glaciers and they have some very reasonably priced items.

Used the hotel as a base for a hiking expedition. Great location and facilities. Would recommend an email after booking by the hotel to suggest reservations at the restaurant on top of the gondola - none available once you arrive - book early!

Love to get out of town and relax at the telly. With a scenic drive that takes less than an hour to reach from Anchorage. Located at the base of the mountain this is a lax place to stay in a quie and peaceful little ski town.

Great place to stay! Friendly staff, fair prices for the provided amenities, clean comfortable rooms, with views like no other. Their bar at the top of the mountain is worth an overnight stay and their Asian bistro is as good as the best on main land Japan. The town of Girwood is great which makes the stay at Alyeska resort even better! My wife and I very much loved our stay.

This hotel is hugely disappointing. While the setting is amazing, I will never stay here again. Last weekend we reserved a room and when we checked in it was not what we reserved. This is the second time this has happened to us. The front desk staff was not apologetic and no compensation was received. If you really need the room type you reserve do not make a reservation in advance at this hotel.

Lovely modern, elegant venue but the access that children have to the baby grand piano in the main sitting area makes for some unpleasant entertainment. Wish the staff could intervene when indulgent parents do not have the decency to. Have been subjected to middle-of-the-night fire precautionary evacuation in pajamas--not fun.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Hotel room was clean and warm. Very clean bathroom in room. Spa center includes a Hot tub, with view of the mountain, a heated saltwater pool, workout room and a dry sauna. All perfect to use after a day of skiing.

Easily the most over priced mediocre skiing of any resort I ve been to. The allure of inbounds big mountain terrain is their only draw, but that s rarely if ever open or accessible. The place is now run by a Canadian hotel chain. Honestly the review wouldn t be half bad if ticket prices were cut in half, then the product would seem reasonable. Season passes are twice the price of the entire epic pass. Day passes are the same price as the northeast where I guarantee you ll have a hell of a lot more visibility and probably better conditions every day Of the season. As far as resorts go it s like the poconos with better scenery at a price that ensures I ll be flying to Washington for a week of better snow and still saving money. Super disappointing.

Pros: Setting is beautiful - Girdwood is a truly lovely place. Staff are great! Helpful, responsive, service was on point. Desk fan provided.

Could use some updates for aesthetics - hotel was built in 1994, and looks it in some places. A little worn in spots, and just plain out of date in others.

Cons: Mattresses are in desperate need of replacement! Hubs could feel the springs.
Can't turn off the thermostat light. The thermostat is a touchscreen with a backlit screen. It was on the wall beside the bed, and the backlight never shut off. At 0100 AM, it provided enough light that I could read my watch by it.
No A/C. May seem like a minor thing, especially in AK, but even up here there are times that A/C is a beautiful thing, especially in a hotel. Thankfully, a desk fan was provided and one window opened about 5 inches, otherwise hubs and I would have been too warm to sleep. Not the first time we have run into this.

It was a great experience, but given the cons, and the cost, not sure we would do it again. If staying in Girdwood again, we'll probably try a local B&B instead.

Great resort. Super disappointed about their advertising "free lift ticket" when you fly Alaska airlines. Read the fine print guys...must be same day! Who can do that? Our flight was 5 hours! By the time you land, take the hour trip to drive to the resort, and pay to rent and gear up .....you would be exhausted. And frankly probably not safe to be on the mountain.

Was here in the summer time for a tram ride. Expensive but fun ride nonetheless. There is a short hike from the top of the tram which has a rather quick elevation gain. The views are astounding from anywhere up top. Bar service was friendly and helpful. Saw a black bear and her cubs on the way down too.

We stayed in this resort for 5 nights, using it as a hub for our Alaskan adventures...This place is amazing! Everything was wonderful from check in to check out. Very clean and cozy, friendly staff and the most amazing views! My hubby and I hiked the Winner Creek Trail and had dinner at the Seven Glaciers, just a Tram ride to the top of the mountain. The dining there was first class. We really enjoyed it. This Resort comes with turn down Service. Every night we had fresh bottles of water and chocolates on our pillows. The grounds are kept in impeccable condition with fire pits and lots of sitting areas. We saw several bears on property and the staff made sure people kept a distance while letting us take pictures and enjoy the wildlife. My only complaint was the parking situation. We prefer not to valet so when we would arrive back in the evening and other things were going on we would have to park far from the entrance and retrieve our car later after non guests had left. A designated parking area for actual guests would have been nice. Overall it was a fantastic experience and I highly recommend staying here. I know if I visit again this is where you will find me! 5 stars!!

We have had a good time out here but I do wish someone had warned us that we were booking a week between seasons and that half the attractions and some of the businesses/restaurants would be shut down. For example the tram and all of the restaurants attached to it, some of the hiking trails, even the Japanese restaurant inside the resort itself is not open.
That being said, all of the staff are friendly and helpful and the bar has a great burger. We've still had a lot of fun, we just had to work a little to make it happen.

Feels like being in a Rocky Mountain ski resort; accommodations are very nice and the village is easily acceptable via shuttle transport. Actual skiing is not world class but makes for a fun day.

This place is gorgeous. Rooms are cozy with lots of seating. Modern amenities in the room such as charging stations, fridge, coffee maker. Beautiful views. Nice indoor pool area with a sauna. Lots of dining options. Trails for nice walks or hiking. Haven't taken the tram up to the top of the mountain, but do recommend getting the deal that includes tram tickets. Lots of quaint areas with seating inside and outside. I will definitely come back.

We visited the Alyeska Resort to take a ride up the tram to take in the views. The tram ride itself does not take terribly long and you'll feel your ears pop as you climb upwards into the higher altitudes. The view from the tram itself and then once you're up on the mountain is pretty phenomenal and I'm sure it would have been more breathtaking had there not been smoke obscuring some of the view from nearby wildfires. Even with the smoke, it was still quite beautiful. There's also a restaurant up there and, depending on what kind of ticket for the tram you get, you can get a $20 meal voucher as well. I had a very tasty bison burger and fries. Overall a pretty cool experience and I'm glad we had the opportunity while we were up visiting Alaska.

If you're looking for a great ski vacation you can't get much better. The staff is very helpful the rooms are clean and relatively roomy. Ask for room facing the mountain. Seven glaciers restaurant at the top of the mountain has amazing views and the food is good. If you want a good steak get directions to the double musky restaurant.
