Trying to buy some furniture and our card got turned down even though we have more than ten times the amount of our purchase in the account. We've had issues with the daily limit before and they assured us that the problem was solved. We tried calling the customer service number and got left on hold for over half an hour where we got to listen to how wonderful Alta bank is and how much they value their customers.
Alta Bank reached out and made some concessions to try to make up for all the inconvenience they caused us. I changed the rating from one star to two. We'll see if their customer service improves. Since the switch from Bank of American Fork it's not been very good.

Jeremy is so helpful and went beyond what I feel he had to. He deserves to be recognized for his hard work and even stayed later to resolve our issue
This is the worst credit Union in Utah...avoid at all costs. The worst app, terrible
Customer service and next to impossible to get your money out.
On hold wait is exceptionally poor. You'll be kicked around to different people all while waiting on hold for ages in-between.
This is not someone you want to bank with.
I went to go deposite $120 at their atm in american fork but i ended up getting a receipt saying "One or more deposite items were unable to be returned due to technical problem. We apologize for the inconvenience." I NEVER got my money back!!!
We used Alta Bank for a new constrution loan and had probably one of the worst experiences to date. Actually the construction portion of the loan went pretty well. Clark Irwin was the one we worked with and we had a few hiccups, but managed. When the home was near completion we worked with Alex Blakey and had multiple issues. My wife and I own a small business and expected a more thorough process, but this was beyond normal. We sent the exact same documents multiple times only for them to say they didn't have them on file. There were questions on a couple loans that our business pays, versus what we pay for ourselves. My wife, who is so nice and sincere had to call Alex and help show him what a bank statement was, and how to read it. Our closing date was pushed back time and time again. The title company was perplexed by all the delays and the need for last minute info.
In short, this is the first negative review I've ever made. My hope is that consumers shop around and find someone who is up front and doesn't play games.
* I got a call from Alex that he had "good news" he'd used $4k.of our money to buy down our interest rate without my knowledge...
* Alex called me one day to let me know that all our closing costs were now included in our loan. When I questioned him he told me that he'd increased our loan amount by $35K. once again without our knowledge. Is this even legal??
We are now in our new home, but the banking process to get here absolutely sucked.
After 3 reps at the AF location were unable to help me with a very simple task, a rep at the PG location got me what I needed in less than 2 minutes. Unbelievable.
I have banked with Altabank since 1997. They were able to make me a believer again today! Thanks
