Dr. Beckley is a great doctor and is exceptionally outgoing, knowledgeable and informative. I've had several surgeries and this was my best experience.

I walk between 5 and 10 miles at a time several times a week. After walking up a 30 degree incline on nearly half a mile long road with wind at my face gusting over 40 miles an hour I ripped two muscles that had been repaired many years earlier. After searching Colorado for hernia surgery I found two places. This one had a similar address to my numbers. I also have an affinity large show dogs and wolves. After reviewing their center I chose to use Dr Richard Fox. His staff and assistants were all very nice to me. They made me feel very comfortable since I was a new patient for them. On the day of my first surgery Dr. Fox was in an emergency surgery so I had to wait for a few hours. They did offer to have another surgeon Dr. Akin Beckley do the operation if I did not want to wait. I thought that was very decent of them. Since I had already met with Dr. Fox and his staff I decided to wait for him. Later that day Dr. Beckley came over to meet with me and offered to answer any questions for me. He seemed like a very nice Dr. who cares about the patients. The surgery with Dr. Fox went fine so about an hour after surgery my family and I had pizzas and hot wings. While that was probably not a good idea for any body right after a surgery I did not get sick at all. The food was great.

I decided to move my second surgery ahead for a couple more weeks so that I could recover for just a little bit more time. A few days before that surgery Colorado canceled elective surgeries because of the COVID19. They finally started allowing it again so I went to that surgery mid August. The second hernia repair went well. Again I went out and had a good late lunch with my family an hour after surgery. This surgery took a little bit longer to recover from relative to the first surgery. The prescription for pain was making me ill and they set me up with some medication at my pharmacy that took care of that issue. All went well.

While I hope to never require any future surgeries as does anybody so I personally do feel comfortable with anybody on their staff. My experience with Alpine Surgical was great. Thanks for repairing my body. I am now exceeding six miles on my exercise walks and expect to get up to 10 miles soon.

I saw Dr. Beckley earlier this year, first in the ER and then for surgery, for a problem with my gall bladder. When I first went to the ER in the middle of the night with severe pain it came at an incredibly inconvenient time - I had just started at a new job, but my new insurance coverage wasn't going to be active for another two weeks, and I hadn't been able to keep the cobra coverage from my previous job. Dr. Beckley was the on-call surgeon that night and came to explain the problem and my options, probably expecting that I was going to be wanting the surgery done ASAP. He was very understanding of the situation and provided me with a lot of advice on how to manage the issue for the next couple weeks until my insurance would be active to cover the surgery. I went back to get the surgery 3 weeks later, and everything went well, I recovered quicker than expected and haven't had any issues since. I would recommend him and his practice to anyone without hesitation

Dr Fox was very up front, I had been given false hope by a local vein clinic and thanks to Dr. Fox I did not go through unnecessary procedures that would not have helped and would have been quite traumatic. Also I have had deep leg exams before and they can be quite painful, the one I received at this office was very thorough but gentle.

I had a cyst removed almost a month ago. I felt kind of mocked while getting it done.. I had to go back in a few hours later to get the bleeding to stop and have been having trouble since. Im about to go to the ER to get it fixed...

Dr. Akin Beckley performed surgery for my mom, and I will say that nobody could have done a better job.

Breast cancer is a scary thing but even more frightening in the very beginning, when one has numerous questions and there is a daunting amount of information to process.

Dr. Beckley's office was cognizant of this - all the staff in Dr. Beckley's office was so respectful and accommodating and they were able to get us in very quickly. Dr. Beckley was thorough when explaining the surgical process to us, but his competence and intelligence aside, he was understanding of my family's specific needs. English isn't my mother's first language, so we worked to have interpreters there. When that wasn't possible, he took time out of his busy schedule and called me to give me a summary of what he had discussed with my mother - just to make sure that my family had all the right information. He personally stopped by after my mother's surgery to make sure she was doing well and held my mother's hand as he spoke to her.

I could not have asked for a more caring and skilled surgeon. Thank you, Alpine Surgical and Dr. Beckley!

Dr. Beckley was incredible. He was a personal recommendation from my primary care doctor that had used him for her surgery. He is very caring, thorough and talented. At the pre-op appointment, he explained everything, gave me options and choices, explained any risks and listened to everything I had questions or concerns about. Lastly, when I had questions after my surgery, because of the anesthesia, he answered the phone and my questions, even late at night. The staff called me a couple of times after my procedure to see how I was doing and Dr. Beckley called me personally to check on me as well. I absolutely recommend Dr. Beckley and Alpine Surgical.

Dr. Fox was great! I was nervous about having surgery and he took extra time to answer all my questions. I've had surgery before and this was the first time it felt like there was someone taking care of me.

Dr. Beckley and the staff at Alpine Surgical Center were everything that I expected and needed them to be. Dr. Beckley performed surgery to repair an umbilical hernia, and all went well without a hitch in June 2017.

Many thanks to Dr. Fox and his excellent staff. Especially Julie. Dr. Fox gave us confidence when we were very frightened. And apparently knew what he was doing because my recovery has been excellent. And in addition to that he is fun to visit with. We were well pleased with the care I received at Alpine Surgical. They truly do provide excellent patient care.

I haven't had tons of experience with medical procedures or surgeries yet, but the care, explanation, and process under Dr. Beckley was excellent. I'm thankful for his warm and matter of fact beside manner - a tough combination.

Dr. Beckley is an excellent surgeon. Very personable and caring. Took whatever time was necessary to explain everything. Fit me in right away.

Dr. Beckley is a world class surgeon and doctor. His excellent repair to my abdominal muscle tissues after a stab wound had me back to work in Tree Care, in less than 7 days. Looking back in it now, not quite a year later, I m filled with gratitude, as I was in his office after the surgery, and while recovering at home. I didn t have insurance and the ladies in the front were lovely throughout the entire ordeal. Sage(?) in particular.

I had gall bladder problems, was seen by Dr. Beckley. He was so kind and patient. He took his time to explain all my options, I needed surgery but live over seas. He accommodated my schedule, his office staff figured out all the insurance issues and got me into surgery one day later. Such relief, I am so grateful to have had him as my surgeon. He also had students in the office and I really was impressed how he interacted with them too!

From my first phone call to the front desk to set up my surgical consultation through my post-op appointments, everyone at Alpine Surgical has been amazing - kind, responsive, and helpful - I can't imagine a better experience from an entire team of hard working people. Dr. Akin Beckley is not only an incredible surgeon, but is just all around a phenomenal person. My original surgery had unpreventable complications due to my Crohn's disease resulting in 2 additional surgeries during my hospital stay and Dr. Beckley was with me through it all. Not only did he check on me daily in the hospital (and when he couldn't, Dr. Fox did and he's also awesome), but he was so thorough with explaining my options, the pros and cons of each, and his personal/professional advice for each, that my husband and I always felt confident in our decisions. Surgery (especially surgery that has complications) is so stressful and hard, but Dr. Beckley was right there with me every step of the way (including doing things as simple and meaningful as holding my hand in the OR before I was put under for my second surgery) and I couldn't be more grateful. I 100% recommend Alpine Surgical - I'm so happy I was referred to them and would feel absolutely confident referring any loved one to the practice and to Dr. Beckley.

I had to have a rather urgent surgery that required a vascular surgeon as well as my neurosurgeon. Dr.Fox was absolutely fantastic! His bedside manner is quite possibly the best that I have ever had or seen. Not to mention he quite literally saved my life and personally checked in on me everyday that I was in the hospital. When you have a surgeon who is truly invested in your recovery, it s a rare find.

I feel the mistake that was made with this clinic was my initial consultation was not with Dr. Fox, who performed my vein procedure. It was with the physicians assistant because Dr. Fox was busy. I should have stopped right there as I was given a lot of confusing information and was under the impression the ablation procedure would take care of the main vein area that causes me to not want to wear shorts in public. Five weeks later, I look down and still see those veins...so I can t help but feel robbed of a lot of money for getting this done when it didn t improve the one area I wanted gone.

Dr. Fox is an absolutely amazing surgeon! I went to him several years ago for a breast lumpectomy and he did such a wonderful job at removing all the atypical cells, and he didn t even leave a scar. His care is incredible! Recently, I had more imaging done, and he called me personally to explain the results and address any concerns. I will only go to Dr. Fox for any new surgery I may need. I trust his expert opinion and know that I am in safe hands. I highly recommend him!

I found the staff condescending and rude. Wouldn t recommend purely from a professional standpoint.

I went to Dr. Fox for a couple of breast biopsies and also served as a patient advocate for a friend who had a hernia operation there. All of my experiences with Dr. Fox and his staff were fantastic. Dr. Fox is communicative, caring and skilled and his staff is helpful and efficient. Great team at Alpine Surgical!

I saw Dr. Beckley in the summer of 2018, a few weeks after the birth of my son, to help with hemorrhoids developed during late pregnancy. This was a "delicate" situation to say the least, uncomfortable and incredibly painful. I cannot stress enough how wonderful Dr. Beckley is. He put me completely at ease, gave me peace of mind and was a consummate professional. I have already recommended him to a friend and will continue to do so, especially to any mamas out there suffering these common postpartum issues. Thanks Dr. Beckley!

love this entire office! from front desk, to interns, and of course my two favorite guys! Dr. Beckley and Dr. Fox. This entire office works hard to get me and have moved fast for me after getting dias i with cancer at 27! i love in denver so i commute when i need to see them. it s 100% with all of it.
10/10 recommend!

The office staff is utterly incompetent. I called in January and gave my insurance info so that payment could be made. I did not receive one single phone call, email, or letter after this, so I assumed it was completed (insurance would have covered it 100%) or I would have been contacted. NOPE - I got a letter 2 days ago that they had sent it to collections. I called and asked to speak to an office manager, and was refused. I cannot believe this is a professional office.

I was incredibly impressed by Dr. Beckley. I went to him to diagnose a hernia and not only was he personable and caring but he sat down and answered every question I had without rushing me. I feel very comfortable with Dr. Beckley and will be scheduling my surgery with him. Also his front office staff was wonderful and helped me navigate the very complicated financial side of this surgery as well.

My wife and I have had the most trying and difficult experience with this office. It started with the doctor making what we believe to be an incorrect diagnosis, then mid procedure changing his course of action and doing another procedure that was not needed, and then billing us for it. After much argument, they sent us a threatening letter stating that if not paid in full, the bill would be sent to collections. We decided just to pay the bill because the cost of fighting it in court would just be too high. We then set up a payment arrangement for the next 6 months. They took the first payment and then sent another letter threatening collection. After contacting them they said that a payment arrangement was never made, but they would be willing to do a two month payment plan. With no choice but to agree, we paid it. Never again. Stay away.

Dr. Beckley was phenomenal. He explained the full procedure, both as the prep work two weeks beforehand and the day of surgery. Everything went super. So much so that I scheduled another appt on a different matter with the good Dr. VERY satisfied with the results.Feels good, looks good

I had an excellent experience with Alpine Surgical. Dr. Beckley is not only a very talented surgeon, but he is also a very nice, caring person. Dr. Beckley did my hernia surgery and I was pleasantly surprised how quickly I was back to feeling myself. I had a hernia surgery years ago, and was much soarer after that surgery. This time, I had minimal discomfort afterwards. I highly recommend their services and was very pleased with the results. Additionally, their just nice people to work with.

Dr. Fox did a fine job with my consultation and surgery. He was clear, patient and helpful.
However, booking the surgery was difficult and took many calls.
Additionally, the cost quoted to me made no mention of 2 of the 3 bills that I've now received, so the quoted cost was about 1/3 of the total cost. Overall, the office staff has room for improvement.

Every contact I've had with Dr Fox and his team has been exemplary and I would recommend him as the first choice to those I care about. Compassion, detailed explanations, generous time for your questions, everything that is important to me was provided. I feel that Dr Fox went above and beyond, challenging a denied request to my insurance for additional testing, which he felt necessary given the circumstances. This resulted in the insurance covering the test, and discovering from the test an urgent health concern that needs immediate attention. He may have saved my life with his diligence, but the extraordinary care also included taking the time to answer every question, and generally, to make me feel that they were there to support me and help me to figure things out. I highly recommend.

Dr. Beckley came highly recommended by my G.I. Specialist due to my additional health issues that would add to surgical complications. Dr. Beckley and his staff were thorough and efficient. Dr. Beckley s bedside manner and follow-up far exceeded my expectations. All costs were clearly explained to me. I would highly recommend Dr. Beckley and Alpine Surgical.

Dr. Beckley is a great surgeon and made me very comfortable with the procedures I had to have. All around great people and place to get fixed up.

I have known Dr. Fox professionally for 20 yrs and I refer my own patients to him frequently. He of course is my number one choice when I or my family need surgical evaluation/care as well. Dr. Fox is not only an exceptional physician/surgeon, he has a wonderful bedside manner and truly cares for his patients in a holistic way. I have always felt respected, validated, heard and advocated for in his care. My patients echo the same praises.

I was greeted by two really nice older ladies in the front office. But, then had a creepy young guy perform my Ultrasound. He had no bedside manners, and lacked people skills. Afterwards, I met with Dr Trisha Quon who was really nice and made a few suggestions. I would warn you that this place doesn t know anything about restless leg which isn t what their website stated. Also, it would be nice if they had a list of referrals in the area. My co-pay was a waste.

The entire staff at Alpine Surgical is fantastic. They are dedicated caring professional who listened to my issues and help me make the decision that would best fit me and my situations. I can't say enought about their professionalism. I can see why they are the best in Boulder. I have recommedned Alpine Surgical to freinds and family and they expereinced the same things I did, incredible staff, caring. They let me know what my costs would be up front which most practices don't do, which helped me so much in terms of budgeting my health care costs.

I've recently met with Dr. Beckley, who was highly recommended by my PCP, regarding a hernia and plan to have him do the repair. He took the time to thoroughly and clearly explain the issue as well as what the surgery and recovery will entail. Next step is to schedule the appointment.

I saw Dr. Beckley seeking a second opinion. My medical history following several previous surgeries was complex. Dr. Beckley identified the problem and a positive outcome was achieved. His empathetic skill was exceptional. I would recommend Dr. Beckley and will come from out of state to see him if looking for a surgical consultation.

Dr. Beckley and the rest of the staff are the best, and they deserve more than a 5 star review in my opinion. I had been putting off a necessary hernia surgery because I was afraid of being away from work and limited in activity for 4 to 6 weeks. After reading some reviews about Alpine Surgical and Dr. Beckley, I felt confident enough to at least go in for a consultation. Scheduling an appointment was easy, and even though I was a few minutes late to my appointment because of a snow storm, they got me in right away and were understanding of my delay. Upon meeting Dr. Beckley, I felt like we had been friends for years. He listened to my concerns, assured me that the procedure he uses (laparoscopic) would have me back to work and a normal activity level in much less time than I originally thought. He talked to me like we were both in this together, not like a surgeon to a patient. He had the same demeanor on the day of surgery and also on the follow up. I would recommend him to anyone without hesitation. In my experience, it is rare to find someone so skilled at their job while also being so down to earth and relatable. The surgery was quick, the recovery was fast. Even when I had a few questions during the recovery, the office staff and Dr. Beckley were quick to listen to my concerns and make me feel heard, even though my concerns were minor and most likely things they have to listen to from patients many times a week. I live about 90 miles from Boulder, and I would still encourage anyone to go see Dr. Beckley. It was more than worth the drive and I am very thankful for their help in getting me back to my routine in a very short amount of time.

Dr. Beckley is just plain amazing! Performed a hernia repair and from step 1 it has been my best surgical experience. Caring. Compassionate. Stellar staff. I was very comfortable with the procedure and the information provided to me. Dr. Fox came on weekend to discharge me from hospital. I was also impressed with his bedside manner and calming me about being released what I thought was early however his explanation made me feel confident. I am 6 days post op and while I am healing slower than I Want, I have absolute 100% confidence in Dr. Beckley!

2 stars because my surgery seems to have gone okay and you'll be medically safe in their care. Posting a review because I was told I am the "Princess and the Pea" for telling the doctor that I could still feel something after surgery. I feel disrespected as a human being and left the office sobbing. 2/3 follow-up appointments left me feeling lost, without answers and like I was somehow not intelligent enough to be discussing my own body and how it feels.
