Visited this place a few times now. The gardens are immaculately kept with great facilities for people of all ages. The entry prices are a little bit steep, however considering you can happily spend all day there, I'd be inclined to say that it is worth it.

There is free parking which is also a bonus and you can get discounts when paying for tickets to see the castle as well as the gardens themselves. I will certainly be returning here in the future!

Fantastic place to visit. So much of interest for all ages and physical abilities. Beautifully laid out gardens with a grand waterfall and cleverly timed water fountains which children enjoyed running underneath. Good food and very friendly knowledgeable staff. Had to go back several times to fully enjoy it. Worth getting a annual ticket.

A good day out, the poison garden is very interesting and there are some very dynamic fountains, the one that simulates a whirlpool being the best.
The hillside of the swings is worth a visit.

First of all, this is the castle where some scenes of Harry Potter were filmed, so it's not safe to love it, and there's a pretty nice course on how to learn to fly with a broom, the teachers are really nice. Also you can visit a garden with all poisonous plants that if touched could cause death (but I'm still alive ). The interior rooms of the castle are very beautiful and luxurious, also on some towers of the castle you can see some pretty nice shows on English soldiers and the first and second war. However, the highlight is the lion's bridge, which gives you a full view of the castle and is also next to an open area where you can have a little picnic in the middle of the cows, so if you are in Newcastle or in Scotland it is one among the castles that deserves to be seen if you are lucky then and the sun is in your favor you will get some beautiful photos

Lovely place to visit providing fabulous views and walking gardens. Water feature is fun and adds to the gardens. Lots of things to do that children will enjoy. Cafeteria style restaurant and lots of places to sit viewing the water feature and large open grass area. Parking requires some walking, although it is wheelchair friendly. Worth a visit on a nice day. Enjoy a visit to the Treehouse Restaurant and try out the swinging bridges!

Love visiting Alnwick garden. My children love the water section. It may not be a cheap day out but it is absolutely worth it. You may wait for the poisonous garden but it a rare opportunity and well worth it. If you don't want to pay the restaurant prices, it is a perfect place for picnics. Great day out. Would thoroughly recommend a visit.

A great day out for the family in the summer time and some simply stunning lighting comes out in the darker winter months along with Lantern Parades and Christmas Markets bit forgetting Father Christmas. Get a yearly pass, is highly recommended for a one time payment and 12 months of access for a family of 4 plus a few others.

Nice stroll about the garden in glorious sunshine. Took a tour about the poison garden which was very interesting and the guides entertaining. Enjoyed the crazy golf also. Coffee was poor. Our lattes looked and tasted as though they were made with instant coffee and unsteamed milk, even though I watched them being made! Cake slices very generous. Nice day out.

Beautiful gardens with things to do for kids as well as grown ups. I suggest taking a change of clothes for your kids if you let them play on the tractors at the base of the waterfall though!
I didn't see this personally but I would imagine the cherry orchard would be particularly beautiful in spring.

Magnificent collection of separate gardens centred around cascading fountains. Bamboo maze, water features, rose garden, large ornamental garden and more. Plus a woodland walk and treehouse restaurant.

A fantastically Bostin place to visit, with children or just adults. The merchandise and foods are at the high end cost wise, but there are loads of picnic tables around the grounds.

You will need to book if you want a meal at the tree house, as we found out at 6.30pm on our visit. All thr seven and a half hours went really quickly, If have not been here yet then you are in for a Bostin treat!

Nice day out... Even out of season in the rain *grin*. Funnily enough it was cheaper at the door that booking online today! And we got to park in the close by carpark... Quite a boon :)

Our visit to the Gardens today was ok although nothing special.

The gardens themselves are well presented and the water features are stunning. However, customer service we felt less to be desired.

There is no warning on the website that the car parking is Pay & Display and is Cash only to the attendant, this meant we had to make a detour into town to withdraw some cash, an ordeal in itself.

Then, when we finally got to the ticket booth, staff assume you're able to gift aid and try to charge you the higher price which we refused given the parking situation. They treat Gift Aid as an opt out rather than an opt in.

Tea Room in the garden is clean and tidy, however food was poorly labelled, we had to ask what the muffin flavours were and staff gave us the impression they didn't want to be there, looking and sounding relatively moody.

When we went to wait for the Poison Garden Tour, we knew the tour was 15 minutes later, and were going to wait, the tour guide was quick to say "Its 15 minutes to the tour" in a blunt way, we promptly left and decided not to look in there. No sign to say that the poison garden was guided tour only until you're stood outside. Although loved the 'giants adventure' installation.

Gardens and grounds presented immaculately but if you're travelling 100 miles to visit the site, make sure you're prepared for hidden car park costs and poor customer service.

Beautifully laid out gardens. Poisoned garden was great, but buy the guide book from the shop as you enter as it really helps to identify the plants. Food was fine, though many people had brought picnics

The Poison Garden tour is well worth the wait, Guides are wonderful, the stories colourful! Even in winter the gardens are very pretty. Do book the restaurant before you come however as it is usually full.
