Fantastic place to go for a date to see the latest plays. It has been a Houston institution for years and never fails to delight. The performers do a fantastic job and the sets are amazing. I highly recommend seeing a show here if you get the chance.

The facility is very nice and comfortable. Modern restrooms and a bar to order expensive drinks in advance for intermission.
The play seen was Quixote Nuevo, a Texas border adaptation of Don Quixote. Unexpected that 10-15% including songs were in Spanish with lines raising laughter only for the bilingual. Overall, most were able to follow the general storyline. Lead actor was very impressive.

First of all parking was very convenient $12 underground lots of help, even got a ride in a golf kart to the entrance of the tunnel which leads to the actual theatre...
At the end of the tunnel an Usher greet us properly and directed us to the elevator indicated we need to go further up... Nice and clean all along...
Then another flight of stairs towards the actual entrance...
Foyer well lit with ample space to mingle, found the bar with premium spirits, soft drinks or even coffee...
Btw, you could even pre order drinks for the intermission and make it more enjoyable...
There is an outdoor Terrace but didn't make my way there because it was too cold and breezy. It didn't look out of the ordinary but I can picture there some sort of soiree well catered for an special event...
The actual [Neuhaus] theatre was well designed and enough access to find your seat or to get out without stumbling with the crowd. Seats were very comfortable and clean plus enough leg room to shift from time to time without bothering other patrons.

Choose the production carefully as some are not worth the money. We've gone 2 times and both were flops!! The theater is very clean and modern though. The smaller theaters have been so much better in terms of the quality of the productions but are not typically as clean and modern.

I used to work at the Alley. I take my wife on dates here often. Last night we attended 1984 and left at the intermission. There was no warning of the gratuitous profanity nor the explicit sex scene. We complained but received no apology or even an offer for a refund. The people we complained to didn t even seem concerned. Not only was the performance terrible, but the customer service was nonexistent. Only the volunteer usher seemed as perturbed as we were.

I much prefer going to see plays at the Alley rather than Broadway. The plays we've been to on Broadway have very narrow seats with no leg room. It makes for an uncomfortable evening. Alley is palatial in comparison.

The sets are always great at the Alley. Perhaps Broadway may be a bit more elaborate, but it doesn't contribute that much.

The plays at the Alley have been very good, and some have been down right excellent. I did see a play on Broadway, and then saw the same one at the Alley. I must admit for that play, the one on Broadway was better (although it might have been because I saw it there first).

There is a new artistic director for the Alley. I hope he doesn't change too much. I've been going to plays there for 8 years or more, and haven't been disappointed.

Saw Mousetrap today, Sunday Matinee is an excellent time, no traffic! Play was Excellent!
Stage set was beautifully set to the era.
We bought our tickets and parking on-line. Smooth sailing from there. Section 3 was perfect seating. Sound was excellent, bathrooms clean and plenty of women's room stalls. Coffee was great! Looking forward to going back.

Among the greatest theaters in all of Houston. If you don't want an over crowded area, but at the same time some very well developed stages along with plots and fantastic plays, this is the place to go. A must visit for all Houstonians as well as tourists. You don't need to worry about where you set as seating wonderful everywhere. Fantastical jokes and plots. Great places to eat at only a short walk away from the theater.

Fabulous play "Holmes and Watson." Alley Theater is an absolutely wonderful venue. Highly recommended. Been attending plays here since 2012. Always a great experience....and wine, too!

Took my two grown kids to see "The Christians" last night. It was, as are all of the Alley's productions, excellent. Very thought provoking. And would have been even more enjoyable if we weren't all freezing to death! I took a sweater, but gave it to my daughter halfway through the play when I noticed her teeth were chattering. I observed many folks with their arms crossed, hands frantically rubbing their arms to get warm. When they weren't sitting on their hands, that is. I mentioned this to an usher on the way out who said, "Well, it's a small crowd. Fewer people there to generate body heat." WHAT? I do believe that's what thermostats are for. And, besides, all the ushers have on jackets. I think, if the Alley wants return customers, it would be prudent to have a theatre that doesn't double as a meat locker!

We love going to the Alley, not a bad seat in the house. The regular actors are great, and they also bring in great actors from time to time. We just saw Quixote Nuevo, which was excellent. We try to see 3-4 plays a year, and they're consistently great

Awesome backstage tour. Saw props being made and met a wig maker who gave a brief demo of how wigs and facial hair are custom made in-house. The tour was very informative, showing how the magic if threatre is made. Reservations required.

Love the Alley Theatre's setup. Parking is very close and only $10 (cash only). Birraperetti's is right there. The play was good, not great. Other plays I have seen there have been great. Also many women's restrooms which is awesome!

The attention to detail is remarkable. The lobby is adorned with sophisticated red carpet and the place was decorated in a way that built anticipation for the play I went to watch. Parking was just $10, the seats were comfortable, and even the affordable tickets give you a good view of the show. The set was well made and the actors threw a wonderful performance. The few times I took my eyes off the show to view my fellow audience members, I saw them entranced by the performance. They also sold drinks.

This place has endured much distress through the forces of hurricane Harvey. The building and cast have bounced back greatly. The building has been fully remodeled. My wife and I joined Alley Theater for opening night for A Christmas Carol. The play was wonderful and we had a great night. We will certainly return for the Sherlock Holmes play.
