Alderwood Vision Therapy Center Review

Dr. Torgerson is fantastic. Staff is very friendly and helpful. My daughter has benefited greatly from the eye therapy.

Dr. Torgerson treated my daughter for vision therapy when it became clear in 2nd grade that something was hindering her reading. Excellent results! Dr. Torgerson is a true professional.

Few years ago i visited their practice as a fellow optometrist from Europe. We went to several VT places and I have to say this one was the best by far. Keep up the good work

I want to warn other receiving therapy that if they are exposed to someone with covid, Alderwood does not prioritize informing the patients. We were exposed on oct 12, and though Alderwood acknowledged they knew for days did not call and email us until 12 days later.
Update: after reading my review one of the drs (not my dr) called me. She defended not telling us until day 12 by saying that the person who potentially exposed us was asymptotic. I pushed back because when we went in for our appointment (day 7 after possible exposure) the person who substituted for our usual person told us this person was out sick. The dr told me that technically the person was not out sick but merely out of office. This technicality seems... dubious. And while asymptomatic does happen, that person probably would have been into work if they were truly without symptoms. But hey, could be.
So wether you agree or disagree with wether they did all they morally could have done as doctors or business owners To keep their patients and clients safe and feeling secure, let it be know that technically they have done all they ethically had to.
She also told me that as of our talk king county had yet (What would be day 21 from exposure) to contact them for contact tracing or with instructions, etc.
I wonder if king county hasn t been in touch because the person was only technically out of office?

I have nothing but praise for the doctors and therapists at Alderwood Vision Therapy Center in Lynnwood. they are all cheerful, professional, competent, and caring. When children need help with their vision because they are not successful in reading in school, this is the place to come for evaluation and treatment. It can be life changing for a seven-year-old -- or a seventy-year-old, for that matter -- to be able to see clearly. AVTC will make this happen.

Had a good experience with this place, my symptoms have reduced and Staff and Dr. Meher were great. I will definitely recommend this place to everyone.

I suffered a stroke in June of last year that left me with double vision that later corrected to double peripheral vision. I had severe limits to how much my eyes could turn out and I would see double if I wasn't looking straight ahead. I was also turning my head off center to see correctly which can be a problem long term. My Neuro-ophthalmologist was skeptical about therapy but I pushed on knowing that I needed better vision even though the advice I was getting from my doctor was to wait.
I found Alderwood Vision Therapy by word of mouth and got myself checked out by Dr Murphy. She was excited to help me get better and I was too. I decided to made the commitment to start a 12 week unit of Therapy. I was driving from Carnation to get there, so it was definitely a commitment for me. I did not really know what would happen at therapy, but I quickly learned it was not what I thought. I was working muscles in my head that I never knew I had. The therapy can be challenging, but it's very worth it! I worked with Chelsea every week and did my home therapy and the results were amazing! My right gaze peripheral double vision is almost completely gone! I have been retested after 12 weeks and I crushed it! My tests came back with amazing results. I did things the doctors said I could not do. I don't see double when I shave anymore and I continue to make progress. Now we are going to start another 12 week unit to see if we can get the same results on the left side.
I would highly recommend Alderwood Vision to treat your vision issues. They honestly care about your outcome and they have the staff and tools to help you get better.

This is alternative therapy. Nothing else worked. This seems to help.
As for those who are happy with standard treatments - ones which left us with "just try harder" - and unhappy with this kind of treatment... I suppose this shows the reason for "alternatives".

Don't waste your time. Spoke with Rich or Rick and he is so rude. He talks down to you and makes you feel stupid. No one should be made to feel the way he made us feel. I would never use this facility in a million years. If you go through the reviews you can see others are in the same boat as we are. Also don't ever give them your credit card information if you don't want them to randomly scan it for unnecessary things. Avoid like the plague.

I saw Dr. Kaitlin Hash on May 11th for an annual check up appointment for my eyes. This was my first time in her office and I was very impressed. The facility was clean and neat and the staff welcoming and friendly. I was seen on time and impressed by the number of and efficiency of all the tests I was given to evaluate my eyes. Seeing the photos of the back of my eyes was very cool and informative. Dr, Hash was very friendly, thorough, understanding and knowledgeable. All in all my visit was enjoyable and I left feeling very confident that my eyes had been thoroughly, professionally and completely examined.

Don t give them credit card access! They will Make transactions with no heads up. My vision therapy was done over a week ago. Woke up this morning to an alert that funds were low, checked my account 216$ was taken out from an exam that I did 3 months ago! I called and said a phone call email or text alerting me that a bill was due and you guys were gonna take out over two hundred dollars would have been nice, and the receptionist said when u sign up u give us access to take out funds !!!! Really that s all u have to say ? I just told u that u just emptied my checking account with no bill sent no explanation no heads up and all u can say is oh well u have us accesss.... rude and unprofessional. I am glad my vision therapy is over. I loved my therapist but the billing department and receptionist need to work on there bed side manner. Not all of us are rich some of us live pay check to paycheck.

I cannot believe the unprofessional behavior of their head doctor. I will not refer anyone here.

The Drs gave my children the ability to be successful in school! We found this place through a personal referral after we were unhappy with the care at Seattle Children s for my youngest. The quality of the doctors is amazing and they are fantastic with kids. Last year my older daughter started struggling in school and I brought her in as well and I am so thankful. They found several issues and we started therapy and the difference now a few months later is night and day. So thankful we have received such amazing care. I highly recommend their eye therapy program as well. My oldest last night told me she loved reading now- that is priceless and could not have happened without the amazing care we received here!

Sitting in the office at Alderwood Vision Therapy waiting for my child to finish their appointment. Just heard the receptionist violate HIPPAA in a huge way. She called another office to tell them a patient was on the way and proceeded to give them the patient's full name, DOB, phone number, address, and insurance. Not cool!!

Unethical billing. Charging for missed appointments I never made, over charging on vision therapy. Very unhappy with overall service. And not every kid needs vision therapy! To charge people that price for that service is crazy! Find another clinic and save yourself a lot of money and frustration.

I am not a patient here how ever a very close friend is, the patient relationships that I hear our developed between patient and staff are I believable. These people are so caring, hands down if I was looking for an eye therapist I would go here hands down no questions asked!
