Excellent museum! I went for the Albert Durer exhibition, which was huge and full of people but completely amazing! The ticket was quite expensive ( 17,90) + 4 for the audio guide, but was worth it! Then, I went to the Monet to Picasso exhibition, for which the audio guide was also included! So many beautiful paintings from such incredible artists! One of my favorite museums so far!!!

While I was in Vienna I saw the fantastic exhibition of Raphael paintings. They managed to get about 30 oil paintings and more than 10 sketches of the great artist. The permanent collection is also one of the best in Europe. On display were some paintings of Rubens, Titian, Durer, Picasso, Magritte, Chagall and more. Do not miss the royal apartments of the Habsburg's dynasty.

We took a guided tour of the Rafael exhibition directly from the house. Great exhibition, highly recommended - especially with a tour (very competent staff!) Very high number of visitors; it is advisable to be there early and to book the tour in advance.

The Albertina Museum in Vienna. Not too big.
In my opinion, it is highly recommended to have an impressionism exhibition.
Among the painters Picasso was Chagall.
There was a very long queue. So we bought tickets in the app on the phone and so we bypassed the queue (there are different discounts for old citizens too)
Leaving bags and backpacks down has storage compartments.
We also liked the modern exhibition which was downstairs minus there are escalators and also an elevator.

My favorite museum in Vienna!

My favorite museum in Vienna!

In addition to the beautiful permanent exhibition in the state halls and the Batliner Collection, there are always changing exhibitions that are often worth seeing.

If you really want to see everything, you should plan almost an entire day.

[Addendum: Correction from 1 to 4 stars by very fast and professional complaint management]

I have to apologize to the 99% of the exceptionally polite employees of the Albertina for this star.
But that the security center informs me impudently by telephone that my purse has not been found (to my request for the name of the employee who replies "This is none of your business!" And hangs up) and I personally go to the Albertina of one friendly museum supervisor to be notified that my purse was found the night before and deposited in the security center, was borderline. That just that security officer tells me in the security center again that nothing has been found, and refuses to look up in the Fundbox, then blew up the frame. When I threaten to fetch the other employee, he comforts to pick up the box of found objects and lies on top of it - my purse. Incidentally, he has handed her out without checking that she really belongs to me.
Suggestion:
This employee needs training in dealing with customers. All employees wear a name tag - why not in the security center? Thus, such a behavior is at least more difficult.
Many thanks to the help of all the other employees. The exhibitions are wonderful! :-)

The place is well preserved and the works, using the audio guide, are well usable. In my opinion, the greatest defect is the high price of access (as in all places of Austrian culture, apart from the Catholic churches) which can make the visit selective, that is, to those who have money to spend.

Going to go to this museum, she hoped to see the most beautiful works and admire works of art. The price of 17 euros for admission (I am already silent about the prices in the souvenir shop), probably should be a guarantee that it will be super. In the end, an absolute disappointment. Those who are not a connoisseur of the presented artists and are going to see "just like that", not understanding art, it is better not to waste money and time in vain ...

A beautiful, well-organized collection with changing exhibitions. The creation of a suitable context for the collection and the individual exhibits has also been implemented very successfully.

Incredible! The most fantastic part was the secret toilets in the staterooms
There was also some art
Which I suppose was cool.
The contemporary section had its ups and downs. Apparently the "black on black" exhibit is supposed to be for the "patient viewer". But after 3 floors of art, my patience was lacking...

This is a great place with an actual Viennese Austrian guy, Burly and grumpy serving sausages the way they are meant to be. Great beer. The other stands are Turkish or slavic foreign-owned - they smell like old oil avoid them. Something like this has to be fully Austrian.

The Albertina is a museum in the Innere Stadt (First District) of Vienna, Austria. It houses one of the largest and most important print rooms in the world with approximately 65,000 drawings and approximately 1 million old master prints, as well as more modern graphic works, photographs and architectural drawings. Apart from the graphics collection the museum has recently acquired on permanent loan two significant collections of Impressionist and early 20th-century art, some of which will be on permanent display. The museum also houses temporary exhibitions.

If you are a fan of galleries and art, Albertina is definitely the place you will enjoy a lot and spend hours inside. Each exhibition is wonderfully curated with descriptions in German and English. Of course, Monet and Picasso exhibitions are the most popular, and you will be seeing them at the very end of your visit. Besides Monet and Picasso, you can see lots of works by French impressionists (Renoir, Degas), Russian avant-garde etc.

The collection was created by Duke Albert with the Genoese count Giacomo Durazzo, the Austrian ambassador in Venice. In 1776 the count presented nearly 1,000 pieces of art to the duke and his wife Maria Christina (Maria Theresa's daughter).

In early 1919, ownership of both the building and the collection passed from the Habsburgs to the newly founded Republic of Austria. In 1920 the collection of prints and drawings was united with the collection of the former imperial court library. The name Albertina was established in 1921.

In March 1945, the Albertina was heavily damaged by Allied bomb attacks. The building was rebuilt in the years after the war and was completely refurbished and modernized from 1998 to 2003. Modifications of the exterior entrance sequence, including a signature roof by Hans Hollein were completed 2008, when also the graphics collection finally reopened.

One of my favorite museums. I enjoy very much. I recommend going in the week and in times of less tourists. It is unpleasant when the Chinese take pictures of each of the works of art.

Albertina Gallery is located in the center of Vienna in one of the buildings of the Hofburg Palace complex. There is a paid wardrobe in the gallery, outer clothing is asked to be removed and taken in, as well as not allowed with large backpacks. There is a special place for umbrellas, with a lock and an individual key. The gallery presents both the original interiors of the Habsburg rooms, as well as an interesting collection of paintings. You can just watch the pictures, or you can use the audio guide. The gallery is not very large, so it is not very tiring and it pleases.
