Manager Billy is great to work with and the spaces in this old building are charming and quirky. I love the Alberta Abbey!
Needs AC, but will be a cute up and coming music venue. It's an old church currently under renovation.
This is a lovely old building. I hope it is restored to it's former glory. The auditorium has several hundred comfortable places to sit, basically not a bad seat in the house. There is also a nice balcony with about thirty to forty seats. The stage is large and the acoustics is near perfect. I hope I get an opportunity to return.
Only was here for one event. At first I couldn't tell if it was a venue or if the organization putting on the event had a relationship with a church who lent them space. Definitely has the feel of a church. Could use some updating to make it feel like a venue and also just to look less shabby. Sound quality for live storytelling was ok. Not sure if it's wheelchair accessible. The entrance we used opened to stairs. Didn't see a gender neutral bathroom option even though the gendered one I used had only one stall. But also didn't see the whole venue.
It's an old venue but has plenty of space. The bathroom situation is sparse and there doesn't seem to be good ADA access.
Wonderful space for live music. Not for dancing though. Also not great if refreshment is offered at your event u are attending but it's adequate for serving bottles or simple wine pours because there is some space in back.
The church has been converted to yoga, coffee shop, etc. The coffee and pastry I got was great!
I went to a arts show/vendors and enjoyed myself, they had a cafe that included alchohol service so that was nice
Hosted a nice quiet event here. Was very respectful and cleaned up afterwards. Yet after many attempts did not recieve my deposit back. Do not use this space. They will rip you off.
Great music. Lack of air movement and heat was not pleasant
This building hosted a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering girls call "Camp Rock for Girls". Nice seats and decent acoustics.
Thank you Alberta Abbey! You rock!
Both the good and the bad of this venue are that most things are original. Gorgeous hardwood floors with some warping, neat old electrical switches and outlets that can't handle modern appliances, bathrooms with original stalls that aren't properly accessible. If you don't need everything to be perfect it's an interesting historical place for an event!
It was like a maze. Lots of stairs. Old building and ecos everywhere
Went to a free Drag Queen bingo game here and it was a great time will probably check out other events here in future seats are a little uncomfortable after a couple hours though
Planning an event? The Abbey is a sprawling, historic, pristine venue for events with a dab of class and an extradrodinary hint of prestige #bookit
Great place for a concert. Good sound. Parking is a challenge.
I love the building. I was nice being able to work in such a historic place. I help with Dream Logic with Hands2mouth.
Beautiful new cafe inside - great for working and delicious coffee too!
Excellent venue for intimate performances. Enjoyed the preshow lounge.
Good sound, no heat or air conditioning conditioning.
Great neighborhood venue. Fun coffee shop. Parking is limited during events but that's the case everywhere in Portland.
