Excellent place to visit! Up close viewing of multiple species of native avian species. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly.
Excellent place to visit! Up close viewing of multiple species of native avian species. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly.
Excellent!!!! It should be noted that the birds that are there are in recovery and are then returned to their wild habitat. The work of the staff is spectacular. Do not stop visiting
It is a wooded place but many arbloes are expelled by nature late that early we charge that
This amazing place is part museum, part education center, and all rehabilitation. The raptors are all helped and given the best opportunity to heal. The people are incredible, and every time I get back to Sitka, I stop by. Small but so informative and so incredible!
Doing a lot of great work with raptors, great place to visit to see the birds as well.
This center helps rescue and rehabilitate all types of birds, but specializes in bald eagles. They have some resident birds that couldn't survive in the wild, too. Their bald eagle flight-training center is particularly fascinating; it's where injured birds get their flight mojo back in a safe, enclosed environment. Fascinating to visit at mid-day feeding time.
Lots of eagles! Owls, ravens, hawks and other birds too.
Totally worth the money and walk to get there. The birds are beautiful. There are many "free" birds that are in the area too. Nice rehab facility inside.
Quite the rescue program. Real passion for these birds. Enlightening.
HUGE BIRDS OF PREY! Stunning, extremely close look at the bald eagles and other animals. This hospital nurses eagles that have lost the ability to fly, or can no longer fend for themselves in the wild.
One of the most amazing experiences you can have, anywhere. This remarkable center rehabilitates injured and traumatized raptors to enable them to return to their natural habitat in the wild, or to live freely on the grounds of the center. As amazing and inspiring as the eagles, owls and falcons are, the staff and volunteers are just as superb. Worth the trip if you happen to be in Sitka or on an Alaska cruise. The memories and education last a lifetime. Great gift shop too!
Fantastic!!!! Informative, amazing and fun!!!! Alex was an amazing tour guide!!! Thank you!
They were so patient with the visitors that the experience left me with an interest in raptors that has stayed for twenty years since!

It was a really cool experience to see and learn about the raptors. They also do an anual spring release of the Eagles. It was fantastic. You can tell how much love and care are taken for these wonderful birds.
It was great to see the eagles up close. This is where they take in Bald Eagles that have been injured and try to rehabilitate then and set them loose again in the wild if possible. Enjoyed it throughly!
Blessings to the park people for all they do to rehabilitate these wonderful birds.
They do great b things with injured birds of all kinds, including bald eagles.
They do a wonderful job in taking care of birds that can't be returned to the wild or taking care of the birds to return to the wild
Great place to see bald eagles and other birds of prey up close. Had a good time...
Great establishment to nurture the raptors back to health and release back to the wild. They do a great thing here, it's worth it to not only help their cause but to see these beautiful creatures up close and personal.
Can walk here easily from the totem park and make an adventure out of your time in Sitka.
Very informative, lots of success stories with the rescue and rehab of eagles
The scenery was breathtaking . They did not do a demonstration when I was there.
Great place but sadly only had 30 minutes on my guided tour so we didn't get to see much I would suggest at least hour minimum. Staff was eager to share their knowledge. Spirit the Bald Eagle was very impressive .
We really enjoyed our trip there and they are doing great work!!!
Wonderful experience! Staff was friendly and informative!
They gave a talk while holding a 4 year old Eagle who is blind in one eye & has condition in other eye, making it impossible to return that bird to the wild. Having the bird there enhanced the talk by a lot, imo. They had lots of shirts, jackets, everything you'd expect to find there. It serves a fine purpose of returning health to eagles & other birds involved in accidents, crashes, etc.
Definitely worth the stop.
It was amazing to get up close to all the eagles and owls. We learned so much about them and their rehabilitation process. We found this place almost by accident and are extremely glad we went.
Very nice facility....walk down to the river to see the salmon spawning
doing great work, amazing presentations, great exhibits, and good gift shop
Bird "hospital" and rehab center for injured Alaskan birds.
Not bad. Enthusiastic guide. Our local centre in Kent far better.
Gorgeous and amazing views. Would return definitely.
A wonderful rehabilitation center for Raptors. I am very happy that they are there.
I wonderful rescue facility. I learned a great deal about the birds of the area. The exhibit was a bit smaller than I expected, however the quality was high and the paths to walk down past the raptor containment areas was very very lovely.
Such an interesting and lovely place to walk about. The cost is a bit higher than I expected but goes to a very worthy operation. Thank you!
Great place. Been there many times with friends. There are great things to see and learn here no matter what age you are. Awes!! Great staff. Don't miss the lectures in lecture bowl. Nice two hour experience you will not forget. Has s gift shop also.
Center for rehabbing juvenile and adult eagles. The guides tell you about each bird's specifics of why each are there. All of the ones on my visit were either hit by a vehicle or shot by hunters. The birds are large and beautiful.
2nd largest aviary hospital in US. Rehab center for Bald Eagles to be returned to the wild after surgeries. Other Raptors such as owls, Falcons and hawks. Definitely worth seeing if in Sitka AK.
The tour is very educational . There are around 20-30 birds. Just 15 mins walk from Sitka National Historic Park.
Great place to visit and learn. Have enjoyed the people and the sharing every time we've been there.
Rehab site for healing injured raptors to return them to the wild! Very well planned & set up & successfully rescue many g return them to the wild! Fun to see huge bald eagles relearning to fly up close!
If you're interested in eagals you'll fined this place kind of interesting.
Educational and worth while visit. Nice 30 minute walk from ships. Wonderful salmon fishery, totem/native museum and rain forest stops on the way. Great self guided alternative to the expensive ship tours! Saw two wild bald eagles eating fish on the way...
Very cool place. Down the trail there is a stream behind this place and the salmon we're in spawning season. I have never seen so many fish in my life in one spot.
wonderful experience. learned a lot here. safe place for these birds of prey to heal
Awesome way to see and learn about various reports and how the center is caring for them. Definitely worth a visit to see these beautiful birds up close.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Is a must see place if you love eagles and other birds of prey.
Awesome to see the birds so close up. Great work they do here with injured birds.
Not to be missed. The experience of getting up close to these injured and disabled raptors and seeing the care and work done to help them recover or make their lives easier was inspiring.
Great place to visit loved what they are doing to protect the birds
Great little find in Sitka, a lot of fun with some amazing birds!
I have not been there but have watched shows on Discovery with Disney+ and am SO impressed with what they do. Some of the shows have brought me to tears like the one with Fuzz Lightyear, a baby eagle who had to be euthanized. The work they do is AMAZING!!!
Beautiful Eagles, and owls. Then a trail to walk. Awe adventure.
Don't miss it. Spectacular. Learned so much from the nicest people who work there and love what they do. The birds of prey are the real show.
Sitka, Alaska is beautiful!
Unique and Amazing!! See live birds, raptors, owls, salmon swimming. Great place, highly recommended.
A very interesting center for the rescue and recuperation of the numerous eagles, hawks and owls of the region. They are supported by voluntary donations.
Great professional staff, up close look at bald eagles and birds of prey.
It is open in the winter months. It is free too but I highly encourage you to donate though as the work they do is important. Very educational, the bird are gorgeous and work seeing.
Love that they are rehabbing these bald eagles and others! Have beautiful walking trails. We also saw wild bald eagles in this area. We found it all very interesting!!
Unique and amazing place devoted to rehabilitation of injured raptors. Goal is to release them back into the wild. Those who cannot be released become permanent residents. Flight training center where birds learn to fly again after recovering from injury is particularly impressive. Birds that would not come near each other in the wild coexist peacefully in this closed space.
It's an okay place to visit. Can learn about raotors. Nothing extraordinary, but not bad.
We enjoyed our COVID-19 conscious tour of the Alaska Raptor Center in August 2020. Pricing is inline with other attractions like this we've experienced around the United States. The animal handler was knowledgeable and personable, you could tell they really loved their job. Spirit and Sitka, the bald eagles, were great ambassadors for their species. The development staff that has been working there for 11+ years was more robotic which was our least favorite part of the tour. We felt like it was an audio-tour rather than a tour with a live-person. Overall, a great hour in the Tongass.
I really appreciate that the facility is a working center and the staff is knowledgeable and loves what they do
It was a wonderful place with a lot of wonderful birds.
The staff was welcoming and knowledgeable. The birds are diverse and well cared for.
We were very impressed by the work done here. Loved seeing bald eagles up close and personal and lived that they sheltered so many.
Must see! See bald eagles and other birds that have been injured. The center nurses them back to health or if they can't return to the wild, they take care of them for life.
We loved visiting the Raptor Center. We learned so much about Eagles and rehabilitation. We were super lucky to be there at the exact right time to see them release 2 eagles back into the wild. We also lucked out and finished up tight before two giant tour buses arrived. The place filled up pretty quickly after that.
We walked through the Sitka National Historical Park and then walked to the Raptor Center. After that it was an easy walk back into town and back to our cruise ship.
A work in progress, donations needed, I plan to visit again and again. Please help the bears. Brown (6) include 2 orphaned cubs, brother & sister blondish, & Black Bears (3). Site of old pulp mill.
We enjoyed the tour to see how they are helping the eagles.
What an amazing experience. We went for the 1:30pm tour. The space was clean, the staff was very friendly and educational with all of their explanations. Our educational bird was Spirit; watching her eat salmon eggs out of her handlers hand while making her little squaks was so cool! Highly recommend
