I live two miles away. $10 for parking is the only thing I don't like. Always great things going on at the fairgrounds. Today is the quilting show and yard junk attraction.

The rides and food were boring, only went cause the nintendo switch event awhile ago.
Goodguys car show Nice rides nice bikes In most important. The Ladys. My Favorite
The rides were great and pictures but not the prices for beverages suck big time. They charge 3.00 for ice in a cup.
They changed it too much its a fair not Disneyland.
Nice of them to let pge stage a "micro-site" here. Awesome rating for their community involvement!
Was pretty cool. Loved the race track. And the stage area was cool. But i didnt park in the fairgrounds so the walk was brutal
Always a blast coming here! We frewuent thw fairgrounds quite a few times every year and we have always had fun! Last time we went was about 3 weeks ago when we went to the Train Day. Ended up finding a nice working train for $10 for my 2 year old and he loves it! Fun times!
Over 100 years of county fairs, horse racing, over priced carnival games you will loses at, and rides. Same things every year. Parking is expensive, admission is reasonable.
Safety - There was a shooting at the fair in the past so they implemented screening with metal detectors. But what they don't monitor is that a weapon can be passed through the fences.
During the day it can and does get very hot.
Will all of the drawbacks, it's still worth attending.

Great Place 2 Bet on the Races. Friendly Employees.
Hot but some shopping areas in the big buildings are cooled. Love the pipe bands that come every year!
Just took the family to the Alameda County Fair on Saturday 6/28.....what a great time! Nice clean grounds, plenty of shade under the big trees and all the fair food you could ask for! We were there from noon to 9 pm and saw most of everything with some time spent relaxing at a table in the shade. Don't miss the freestyle motocross and the hypnotist! Also, be sure to check out a race at the horse track!!
It really is the best county fair around the bay area!
Lots to look at, clean grounds, good food had the fried gator and crab fries!
I feel that monitoring Carnival Pass isn't accurate by Butler Amusements. It does not let you know what was used for the amount of rides left. Some operators that scan the card is not knowledgable on how to use the handheld scanner. Sad to say the last ride my granddaughter 6(yrs) lined up for, was sent away because of lack of ticket fund. Not so happy with this new system!
It was a great place! Lots of security around the whole place! It was our Anniversary
Went for fathers day, I got in for free and my son did too because anyone e under 6 year old is free. Wasn't too hot, nor crowded, went from like 1230pm to 4pm. Good size line coming into the fair around 4pm. Parking was $10, food, drinks, and rides of course are the same ridiculousness. Had some new rides, lots of rides, seemed like more than usual. A good water log ride, short but sweet. DO NOT GO IN THE HAUNTED HOUSE, biggest joke ever, I couldn't believe it, a couple turns in the dark, then a projector of 3 zombies on a wall and then two more turns, and you're out. Smh. Lastly though, from getting off the freeway to the entrance which is like 3 or maybe 4 short stop lights. It took about 30 mins. People just blocking intersections to make sure they get through the green light or red light. That was the worst part for me, having to keep my composure in front of my son, of ignorant, oblivious, selfish, inexperienced, and distracted drivers. Other than that, great time!
Attended fair today for opening day and had a great time with my family. The space is huge and has abundant parking reasonably priced. My only issue was one of the security attendants for the rodeo was extremely rude and scolded my 3yr old for dancing to the music that was being played. We made a complaint with the head.of security and left the Rodeo to avoid letting that spoil our visit, aside from that food was tummy and the kid park was fun for both our.toddlera and even us =)
Games, shopping, shows, food stalls. Fun filled outing for kids. Horse racing, pig racing was another attraction.
Fair food that we tried was awful but the kids enjoyed themselves on the rides.
An excellent experience. God truly blessed America on this, the most patriotic, day. The sun shone bright and everyone was having a great time, eating turkey legs and pork chops on a stick. The horse races were a raucous affair. There could have been more stars and stripes though. I would have liked to see everyone carrying the flag.
Resteraunt at the horse race, Marilyn is the nicest
We come to the fair grounds for special events. Each time we come the place is always clean and everything is clearly marked.
Saw Morris Day and the Time....they were C.......OOL.....WHATS THAT SPELL?
We were here for an event other than the fair, but the area, including the bathrooms and parking lots, were clean.
Vary big location. Friendly staff. Parking is a little crazy when there is a big event though.
We had a great time!!! The tractor race was great and the 2 young men at the show were so charming, funny and knew how to talk to the kids! My son also loved the Alaskan pigs race. It was very cute and entertaining He insisted to watch it twice, hoping to be picked as a volunteer but no such luck, although the adults sitting next to him pointing him out to be picked . Well we did get him a big plush pig to take home. We hang around the farm animals and petting zoo for a while also.
Huge venue with great facilities. Make sure you know which gate to park at.
Good Guys show, some what organized, but would not enforce their own rules, a free for all during set up and knock down, with indiferant staff. More fees than you will find any other normal show.
Didn't like the fact that, we now have to pay to get into the Concert area, while also having to pay for Parking and still, having to pay for entry into the fair? "For what?" Just to enter and have to pay for everything else! Really? What a Rip Off!
Best fair venue I've ever been to. You guys do a great job making it special.
Nice place to attend and event clean nice restrooms. Good place for a car show. Easy to get in & out of. Great place for the hole family.
I for one didn't like the fair. It is crowded, parking is hard and food is just bad. I don't mind paying high price but food has to be good. It seems same vendors yr after yr. The fireworks show is nice. The traffic is usually a mess afterwards.
Great fair. Entry price is good but if you have kids and want to do the carnival part be prepared to pay! Wrist bands are the way to go for the older kids. There are height requirements so for the little ones it might be better to get tickets rather then the wrist bands
Awesome, clean and fun, but expensive. Out of reach for a lot of families.
Super friendly service from the different food trucks that we visited during the Food Truck Grab and Go. Meticulous cleaning of the picnic tables each time one was vacated. Definitely would go again
Always like going here during fair season, and events like car shows.
It's good parking and open areas.
Love it great times love different foods enjoy the flea market atmosphere and different types of beverages and watch people enjoy themselves
Just the right size of a fair. Lots of rides, not that much crowd for a Sunday evening. Loved it overall!
Nice for children but really overpriced and no proper Chinese food option inside
I think what the fairgrounds does to groups and organizations who rent the fairgrounds is totally out of line. The group does all the work while the fairgrounds takes all their money. Case in point, the fairground takes 100 percent of the following: beer sales, parking, camping fees along with other parts of the event. The group or organization gets very little for their efforts, Greed pure and simple on the part of the fairgrounds
Great events, favorites are Scottish Games and the County Fair
The pet fair was excellent. The fair grounds were clean and well maintained. The staff are courtious and helpful.
Nice older event facility, home of the Alameda County Fair (with horse racing), the Goodguys shows (3 per year) as well as RV, home improvement, garden, hot tub and other shows.
The parking ground is not concrete and it's all muddy.
New like clean facilities, quality attractions, a lot of fun for the whole family. We look forward to New events throughout the year.
Fabulous fair overall. Tons of things to do and see, and the horse races were really fun to watch! All of the totally enclosed buildings were air conditioned so there was always a way to beat the heat. Drinks and food are pricey, but that is to be expected at a fair like this. You are allowed to leave and re-enter the park with a hand stamp so it wasn't a big deal. Plenty of free things to see and do once you paid admission fees. Carnival rides and games were also expensive but again, the cost is expected.
Parking was a disaster. $15+ dollars for parking that was full by noon. We parked on pleasanton's main street and took the 10min walk just to avoid the hassle.
As usual prices from food vendors are a little high. Atmosphere appeared to be safe with plenty of security as well as local sheriff. Entertainment is good. My fiance and I had a very good time.Stayed well past sundown Everything felt so much better then.
Lots of food and shopping for home improvement ideas. Carnival's fun with lots of rides
The fair here is great. It's fun and safe for kids!
Fascinating arts, crafts and hobby displays created by passionate community members, young and old, that are judged with live commentary at the Fair. Hands-on demonstrations of old-time printing and weaving methods. Livestock shows with live judging of cattle, goats, and sheep raised by 4-H kids. Big-time horse racing is colorful spectacle. Ride the huge ferris wheel in the day for grand views of the Tri-Valley, and at night for the bright lights of the midway.
Attended the Scottish Highlands games. Have always wanted to go but never found the time...
