The organization I work for, the GWCC, recently changed venues for all of our Quarterly events (luncheons and annual dinner). We now have the pleasure of holding them at Airlie Center. We have had two events thus far, in Oct. and Dec. 2012, both of which were a great success.

Our membership has giving us outstanding feedback, much do to the great staff at Airlie. The atmosphere there is amazing, great for any business event! The food, spectacular and unique. Their event coordination staff is very detailed and helped us trouble shoot any issue we may have encountered, some of which we wouldn't have considered without their expertise.

All in all, it has been a joy to work with Airlie and to hold events there. We are looking forward to many great events to come!

Beautiful venue! I came here for a friend's wedding from New York City and was thrilled to come upon this site and see the surroundings of Airlie. Everything was wonderful. The food and beverages were terrific. My only wish was that the staff were not so hurried. Otherwise, I had a great time at this site! Would love to visit again.

I was there for a conference and I thought it has come together nicely. I did not like the food, but many did, great fruits and snacks though. We asked for a special over head cable and power strip, it was there and connected in no time by their tech. very friendly staff, astonishing nature. It is really a great place for relaxing. They have EV charging station free. Be careful when it is dark, it is easy to be disoriented! The rooms are great and very good size

Airlie hosted a conference I attended. The grounds were absolutely beautiful and well taken care of. They catered food for our two day event and it was delicious. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and super helpful! I highly recommend Airlie if you want a beautiful location with great staff for your wedding or event!

We were here for a wedding and it was a beautiful setting. The view from the main building and dinning room were wonderful even in late fall. There are many activities to do such as skeet shooting, archery, swimming and fishing. The rooms are in different buildings spread throughout the large property. There were bicycles to ride for free. The staff was wonderful.

DO NOT use this venue. I have been an event planner for over a decade and have never had as many issues with an event space from the poor customer service to the faulty AV equipment. I hosted a 2 day conference here in November 2017 and they failed to meet basic expectations. Check-in took forever for my participants, the rooms were small and shabby, and the onsite shuttles/golf carts were not running at night so participants had to walk far in the dark. My event contact left before the start of my programming and I could not reach her for the numerous issues that happened at the venue. I had to run to another building to have my concerns addressed. We used their in-house AV and they did not provide enough technicians and their AV equipment stopped working numerous times including during two VIP keynotes. The video that we do have is useable because of the angle it was shot. All of the external vendors they recommended delivered poor quality products or the wrong products. This was the worst venue I have ever used. DO NOT waste your money here.

My wife and I just had a wonderful weekend at Airlie. The rooms were charming and well appointed. The staff went out of their way to please us. The food was amazing. We loved the selection of local foods and the unique parings. Be sure not to miss the omelet station and the biscuits and gravy for breakfast. The grounds were very peaceful and serene. We will definitely be back!

So let me start off by saying our wedding was BEAU...

So let me start off by saying our wedding was BEAUTIFUL, but that was largely due to our AMAZING wedding planner, Tabitha Roberts, of Roberts & Co. However, working with Airlie has been an absolute nightmare. At our initial site visit we were told EVERYTHING we wanted to hear. The minute we submitted our non-refundable deposit everything went to hell. We were told we would have to do the a la carte wedding because we were having only 50 guests, which was not what we were told during the initial walk through. We were told all we had to do to hold rooms for our guests was to pay for our room (the bride & groom suite) up front. Later we were told we would have to pay for 50% of all the rooms needed & finally, we were eventually charged 100% for all the rooms we thought we may need (which broke down to just under $7k). How they expect us to know EXACTLY the rooms we will need 6-8 months in advance, prior to even mailing out invites, is beyond me! All the contracts were unclear; they changed depending on what mood the staff was in and when asked to clarify we wouldn t hear back from them for WEEKS & then we would never get anything in writing, even after requesting it over & over again! The staff is polite in person, however are super condescending on the phone and in emails. They were even rude to our wedding planner, which seems like a REALLY bad idea, since she was the reason we were initially referred. She had worked with them, prior to multiple changes in staff & management, so this in NO way was her fault. At our final walk through, 4 days prior to the wedding, they only provided estimates of overages and remaining balances. Also, they failed to include the service charges (i.e. gratuities in these estimates, which later we discovered breaks down to about $3k!) After everything, that walk through that took over 1 month to schedule, felt as if it never even happened, all the requests and changes were conveniently forgotten or ignored. The weekend of, we found out some of our guests were not assigned their own rooms, as requested. The rooms were OVERPRICED ($185/night), small and poorly decorated. In other venues, hotel blocks are given discounts or will give the bride & groom their room for free, this was not the case at Airlie. We also discovered that our rain back up was a STORAGE CLOSET, which they were graciously going to throw in for free! Patrick, the one competent staff member, realized that they gave us this horrible excuse for a wedding site and gave us a beautiful room instead. One week later, after returning from our honeymoon, we received a very rude email stating we owed them over $1k, when we called them to clarify they realized they made several errors in accounting! After several emails, angry phone calls and threats to get small claims involved as well as attorneys, after 1whole month after our wedding did they finally reimburse our overages. Oh, also, as a courtesy they offered to give us access to tag along on someone s corporate event to try and make up for all the difficulties. Really?! Yes the location is beautiful and the food was delicious, however the staff is completely incompetent. We went through 2 different event coordinators and 1 manager and still feel that our privately hired wedding planner was our saving grace. The accounting people, front staff and special events coordinators are completely incompetent and do not have a problem stealing and lying. Don t go to Airlie, this venue provided great pictures but also brought on multiple headaches, tears and near homicidal ideation. It was not worth it.

My friend and I happened to find this place on the way back from picking lavender at Seven Oaks Laveder Farm, a few miles away. It looked so beautiful from the road that we decided to go back home, pick up my husband and go to eat there. We weren't looking for anything too fancy, so we decided on the Whistling Swan Pub. We were the only people there; it was late for lunch and too early for dinner, but we were hungry. Justine greeted us, told us that the food we ordered would come from the main dining room and would take a few minutes. We all ordered crab cakes and garlic French fries on her recommendation . As we waited she went out of her way to get us drinks we wanted, and to answer questions we had about the Inn. We ate outside and the food was as great as she said. It was served picnic style, and Justine said we could sit wherever we liked and they would bring our order to us. We were not staying at the Inn , but Justine gave us the kind of service I think Inn guests would receive. She was so pleasant and polite, and really made us feel welcome. She is an asset to the Inn, and they should be proud of how much thought and work she puts into her job.

I would not consider this place upscale. It's entirely too noisy . I went with my daughter for her birthday and we promptly left. The atmosphere is more of an expensive sports bar. I'll try again four lunch, perhaps they won't be so busy and I can actually try the much advertised foods.

This place is great for a wedding venue. The rooms for staying overnight are horrendous. My guest bathroom in my house is bigger then the entire room. Extremely overpriced and not up-to-date at all. If you re here for a wedding and need to stay, stay elsewhere and take an Uber. It s completely worth avoiding these overpriced, tiny rooms.

This place is my number one site. Of all restaurants I know I favor it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to visit this restaurant. everytime I want to go to a fair lunch, this is the place that comes immediately to my head. very good and all sorts of food and a large list of dishes.generous staff members, and great mood. Not less important, the bill is honest. I tell about this spot with no doubt.

I was a guest at Airlie in January 2014. The organization I work for hosted their annual retreat there, and it was quite an excellent location. Although I unfortunately didn't get much time at all to explore the grounds, what I did manage to see was quite stunning. The rooms were nice, and my favorite part was probably the food..! So delicious, and so many vegetarian-friendly options! I would definitely go back for a romantic weekend with my partner, if only it weren't so expensive :)

We went for a little weekend getaway. Weather was bad combined with winter slow season so most of the activities where closed. But the room and service was great and the bar/restaurant was good. Seems like mostly setup for weddings/events but off season it was a relaxing quiet getaway.

I was there last year and liked it very much, getting ready to spend there 3 days next week. In my visit
last year, I found the food to be delicious and the dessert selection impressive. I was too tired to visit the organic vegetable garden and orchards but heard they were nice. This venue had a shuttle and they were kind enough to give rides to conference participants to the nearby supermarket.

Love this place: beautiful lakes with morning fog, charming overnight cottages scattered around the property, riding bikes in the alleys, amazing summer garden and the stars in the sky. I work at a platinum country club, but cann't tell you enough about how wonderful it is to spend time at Airlie.

Wow. We made a reservation on Tuesday for Sunday brunch. There seemed to be a bit of confusion aboit it and we were shown to put table; we were a party of 3 and stood there while they pulled our tables together. There was one other a la carte tables that had not eaten. A man took our drink orders, a woman came to confirm, the man came back with our drinks, served 2, dropped the bloody Mary in front of me and ran away. The lady brought the drink quite a few minutes later. She swapped out the messy table with a clean one, having is hang onto our clean silverware. The extra silverware and glasses were never removes from the table. 2 dishes were served. The 3rd arrived about 5 minutes later. She handed it to me to hand to my friend, just like his bloody Mary. Food was meh. Not hot and the poached egg was cold. Only chocolate or cheese for dessert. I got the fruit from the appetizer menu. It took a long time for them to be served. As in my friends had finished their coffees. When she refilled the coffee, it was cold. She felt the cup and said "It should be warm, would you like me to microwave it?" Really? She did make a fresh pot. The fruit was delicious .

I planned to stay here during a wedding weekend for one of my best friends. The check in process was fantastic and the young man who assisted me was more than helpful. My room was located in the Silo House, directly next to the pool. Once we arrived at the room, I was initially disappointed with the lack of handicapped access to the second floor of the facility. My wife and I have newborn twins who are still in a stroller, and utilize the access for such. After we passed by the poison ivy ridden landscaping, we walked into our room which was much smaller than we had anticipated. As my wife and I determined how to sleep 2 adults, a 5 year old, and twins, we soon realized that A) this room was terribly overpriced, B) woefully antiquated, and C) completely unsafe for children. The television was on a very wide, narrow table which my daughter nearly tipped onto herself had it not been for my vigilance. My wife contacted the front desk and they were very receptive to our concerns. We requested an immediate refund and new lodging in town. They happily refunded our nearly $600 for the two nights without problem. I would give the staff here 5 stars, however the rooms and furnishings 1 star. If you are planning on staying there for a wedding, I highly recommend the Hampton Inn in Warrenton.

If you're looking for a luxurious weekend getaway,...

If you're looking for a luxurious weekend getaway, keep looking. The property and landscape is beautiful, but the service and management leave much to be desired. There's a good chance you'll find a room infested with stink bugs to welcome you to the property.

Service in the dining room is non-existent. Despite only 6 tables of diners, the waitstaff was noticeably absent and showed no interest in providing a memorable dining experience. An hour to get an appetizer and 20 minutes to have a plate cleared left fellow guests to commiserate about the comedic lack of service and attention. When management was engaged, nothing improved. All you'll get is a "sorry" and 20 more minutes of the disappearing act. Staff and management should be embarrassed about tarnishing the reputation of such a historic property.

To potential future guests, please do yourself a favor and don't stay here!

I attended a two day photographer's conference at Airlie. The grounds are a photographer's dream! The gardens are beautiful with little surprises everywhere. I could see myself curled up with a good book and a glass of wine sitting by one of many ponds. Also I found out they are pet friendly! A plus for me to come back . Their food looks amazing, cannot wait to come back and eat at Harry's.

Airlie hosted our photography conference and they were such gracious hosts for our 2-day event. The entire staff, from the front desk to housekeeping to catering, were all beyond accommodating. Plus, the grounds were so perfectly groomed and well taken care of, we found a seemingly endless list of locations for beautiful portraits.

I was able to stay at Airlie for a wedding -- the grounds and facilities as a whole are very beautiful and made for a great weekend for the wedding. However, this review is as a patron of the hotel experience, which was not up to the same quality. Even though it is a historic area, the room we stayed in should have been more updated. The area was cramped and the bed was not ideal, but the disappointment was in the bathroom. The whole bathroom felt uncomfortable and the shower was what you would expect for a motel. In addition, the water did not drain so you would be in standing water for as long as you could bear being in it. Also, the water throughout the place was extremely cloudy and I could not find myself able to drink it, either from the hotel room or the water machines in the hallways. However, for my friends who received king beds in other houses in the property, their room was as you would expect for a 3-star hotel with suitable amenities, so I would recommend going for that if you are here for an event.
