Delicious food, friendly staff and unassuming prices. I recommend mandatory
The kotthu on the first occasion was fresh and really tasty. Even the cappuccino was nice. But on the 2nd occasion, the take away koththu was stale and didnt taste as good. I guess it is a thing with take away food
Good place where to have some nice food and enjoy :)
Really suggest to come and spend some time here!
The food was cold. The local food was okay. The supposed spaghetti rather disgusting
The place does not look like much but the rice and curry is to die for! In addition, the dishes are really substantial, if there are two of you, one plate is more than enough
Very cute spot to eat. It was holiday so staff was running around like crazy and felt a bit short and rude. They completely ignored our request for wifi. The food, however, was very delicious. The string dish with curry was very tasty.
Good and reasonably priced food for a tourist area ... Staff was friendly and accommodating
There are many choices for vegetable and food meals, and the taste is good and the price is cheap.
Do not go there for breakfast. Cold dishes and disgusting juices.
Great restaurant. The food was tasty, but not so much that it really filled you up. On the other hand, it is affordable in terms of price. We paid 35 for 4 main meals + drinks and desserts. Cash can only be paid.
A place worth recommending. Delicious and cheap cocktails made of fresh fruit, on the balcony a great view of the lion rock sigirya in the background. Friendly service and delicious meals at good prices. I highly recommend fish curry and delicious roti.
Tried their fried rice and it was decent but bit salty. Just average food place.
Tasty foods & excellent service. Staff is very friendly. Love it.
Foods are little expensive. The atmosphere is different like tree house.
Nice "treehouse" type restaurant with 3 levels around a central tree. But the food was not particularly special, although quite affordable
Small basic restaurant (and guesthouses) on the main road to Sigiriya's rocks (Lion's and Pidurangala's), whose entries could be also easily reached by walk.
We stopped by only for a quick afternoon snack.
Sandwiches are simple but good. Cheap prices.
More than once, we saw it full at dinner time.
We stayed at Anushka Nera Nature House and this restaurant is run by the same owner so we came down to try it out. It's run by Nera's wife and daughter (who is called Ahinsa).
Nera built the restaurant himself around a tree (his guest house is the same) so it's really beautiful and pretty inside.
Yes it's tourity and full of foreigners, but it's in Sigiriya town centre(!) - all the locals eat at home!
We had vegetable kottu roti and it was the best we've had, tasty, spicy (not westernised), hot (cooked fresh) and not too salty like others we've had.
If you're polite to staff, they will be polite to you :)
The location is good, place looks nice and fun to sit in for some meal, the food is not great but it's probably the best you'll get around here.
Good dinner. (Chicken Buriani) Great breakfast ! (Traditional Sri Lankan Curry) Great views from 2nd and 3rd floor. Easy location. Why eat anywhere else ?
Good service and delicious curry, don't order coffee
In the upper tree house you are actually sitting pretty. However, the beer is very expensive. When eating, you should rather order completely different things. We had six curries and there was a lot in many small bowls, which our table neighbors but also for two people received. After some discussion we got a discount but had to invest it in a new meal.
They bring out the same amount of food for six people than they do for two. Food is cold and they forget to bring half of the order. Beer is super expensive.
Good food and located where the bus to Dambulla leaves from
Good food, lovely setting in the first floor restaurant. We ordered rice & curry which was very plentiful, we struggled to finish everything.
Good place, cheap price, nice people and very good food.We try the chicken kottu roti which was excellent and a lassi to come with
Very tasty juice, only you need to give a spoon to this juice, because this puree is thick and very tasty
Enjoyed the dinner, best place dine in, very economical
The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere and the food is also good.
2nd floor is actually a treehouse. Food is fantastic. Owners are very helpful and kindly minded our backpack for the day. Negative review below is obviously from somebody who cannot cope with traditional Sri Lankan cuisine.
We are on our honeymoon and had lunch here after climbing sigiriya rock. We were so happy we came across this restaurant it seemed to be the most popular one in the village. We ordered the vegetable rotti and club sandwhich. My wife is vegan and she was in love with the roti! My club sandwhich was good however I had food envy and found myself sneaking spoonfuls off my wife's plate, it was delicious! A must place to eat in sigiriya.
Nice restaurant on the tree. Mila staff and cheap food
Verry comfortable accommodation & friendly treatments.
Nice location.
food normal.
Very nice atmosphere, great prices and delicious food!
Staff are friendly but very busy, so sometimes a long time to wait. Delicious noodles and biriyani. Ate here twice in two days.
Grilled fish ended being deep fried. Taste of food is blah. Not returning again.
I had most delirious veg curry and original ceylon coffee. the service and ambiance is fantastic
Correct. but slow. The waiter spits between two dishes. As long as it aims well. Surprising no ... it seems busy
Super nice place with a lovely view of Sigiriya. The decor of the dining area was gorgeous.
I had the chicken kottu which has been the best I have had in Sri Lanka yet. The staff were very friendly and made our dining experience a pleasure :)
Excellent guesthouse. Very clean, air conditioning, great breakfast and all this just 15 minutes walk from Lion's rock. Very good rice curry served and cooked by the mom .. excellent cook. I recommend.
Friendly staff, nice, discreet, we stayed 3 days in this beautiful corner of Sri Lanka and we made this place note HQ, unbeatable value for money, we tasted almost all dishes, delicious flavors that our mouth n did not even imagine, a little raised for some dishes but children have the choice anyway, very good fruit juice, go see
The food of lunch buffet had average taste with limited selection. A bit pricey for the quality of the food.
Very good resturant i had lunch with my two travelers from uk.
They are really satisfied with foods.
Very nice place
And really good food. .
Thank you
Standard curry which was good and plentiful with a nice price. Cleaner than most places around here :) I guess that's why you see so many tourists there :)
Quite pricy and some clumsyness by waiters, but overall very good food. 'Sri Lankan breakfast' recommended.
Delicious food, reasonable prices, fresh fruit juices are very good. I would recommend! Viewing terrace on the Lion Rock.
Been traveling through Sri Lanka for 3 weeks and nothing but amazing food. This place is the only one that sucks. You are better off eating dog food.
Nice local, mainly for tourists. Food good, ours unfortunately only lukewarm.
Food is cheap but also not very good. It felt like a bit of a tourist trap: the place looks ok from the road so tourists will come in anyway, no matter what the quality of the food is.
Comprehensive menu and fresh tasty food. Excellent service. Good WiFi
It's the worst restaurant we have been in Sri Lanka. Unprofessional service and long waiting for a single meal that was cold and completely flavorless. There were other restaurants around and for sure all better than this.
Unbeatable value for money, nice place, cool staff. Service a bit long but we do not care is the holidays :)) leave a message on the beams of the restaurant;)
Good place with better meal and the best people. I recommend to visit and try traditional food from Sri Lanka.
Clean, good service, excellent food and cold beers.
Friendly
The food is really tasty in this place, though way overpriced. A chicken rice and curry cost us LKR500! But it was very good and the curries were full of flavor so it's well worth the money you spend. Except for only a couple of people, the staff was nice and friendly too.
Super nice location and host. They let us stay for a while and also use their wifi because the one in our home stay was not working properly. I can only recommend it!
On the way to Sigiria Lock, I had you leave the suitcase. Actually I wanted to leave at the bus station in Dambulla, but I was very fortunate to the kindness of the uncle of the bus station and the bus driver.
Thanks to you I was able to see Sigilia smoothly!
Thank you very much.
The setting is great. The dishes are cheap and delicious (take the Chicken Roti)
I loved!
Came here about three years ago. It was amazing. We all really enjoyed the food. Parents shared a curry plater. Two kids had chocolate and coconut roti and the other had chicken fried noodles. Great local Sri Lankan restaurant.
A mistake!
From the outside, the Ahinsa promised a very promising impression. Our tour guide, my colleague and I entered the restaurant and were immediately given a table. Through the blackboards, "Best Rated Restaurant 2015", outside the doors, we had a good feeling.
To cut a long story short: from the three main courses ordered and a supplement for sharing, each individual course came 5-10 minutes later. The cloves of garlic in the batter were a firm and solid lump that was inedible on the way!
The two Devilled Chicken ordered were OK, although I ordered my portion with fries after consultation with the service staff but still received rice. The table next to a plate filled with STILL was 40 minutes full of us `` forgotten ''.
Not to be recommended despite good beer ......
To avoid! Awful place! I saw the waiter hitting a dog that was in the street doing nothing! The dog started to scream and run!!! AVOID. I just had a coffee there and was not nice. And the waiter had a gun and tried to shot a monkey... I'm not sure if was only air or bullets. The worst place that I have been in Sri lanka
Can't recommend this place. Don't visits. Foods are not taste and very very high prices not worth.
1l water bottle 100 LKR
Vegetarian rice and curry - 400 LKR
Chicken biryani - 500 LKR (not included egg)
Awosome price right.
And need to teach how to make a good quality buriyani.
Not clean but good service. I think only for money.
Very expensive beer (500 Rs) where price is not indicated in the menu. We felt scamed.
Good chicken koodi
Fried fried rice with vegetable without taste
This is one of the few places that was available for late lunches. Food was average. Buffet is available.
Cleanliness needs to be improved. Flies were everywhere.
