Aeroporto G. Marconi di Bologna Review

Waiting for luggage recovery over 30 minutes !!! Much below European standards. In Catania I collected the baggage in 10 minutes.

Avant-garde and very efficient airport from my point of view, which has seen a strong increase in air traffic in recent years, especially with the arrival of Emirates. Excellent facility and just renovated, clean and modern, excellent bars / restaurants inside. Despite having traveled far and wide around the world both as a tourist but also as a general aviation pilot, it remains my favorite airport.

I often fly from this airport, I always use the taxi because 1/4 of an hour from home and because the parking lots are expensive and always full. They have significantly improved the access service to gates, with optical readers that have speeded up the progress of the line (for those who know how to use ). The dining and shopping area has also been improved. The historical flaw of this airport is the delivery of baggage (as slow as nowhere else) and the gates: of those "bellows" (which allow you to go directly on the plane) not even the shadow, you always have to resort to those heinous connecting bus between gate and plane

Bad ... parking 0 ... so many cars are parked in the roundabout of the airport ... very dangerous. The police pass and makes no fine. A shame. I hope something changes soon. On hold

Please, don't use this airport!
They even refuse to give me tap water and they told me to buy it!
No tobacco sell inside (and no advise to be aware of that), rude staff and ridiculous policy. No way! Avoid it!

Small with a brilliant selection of shop's, cafe and bars. Staff are really helpful and polite very friendly over all great experience.

The layout and design of this place defies logic. Make sure to arrive here earlier than you would at a normal airport, and if you have a tight connection flight forget it.
Also, expect to spend an extra long time in custom upon arrival.

Airport convenient for its proximity to the city of Parma. Quite functional. There are not many shops and unfortunately sometimes the cleaning of the bathrooms leaves you want.

Small but well organized and easily accessible from the center.

I always leave from this airport, the only flaw are the parking lots which, among other things, have excessive prices. Overall, I must say that I have always felt good. International Airport, Modern, Clean, Always growing ....

The main advantage of the airport is that it is close to the center. Interestingly, a taxi to a hotel in the city for 3 people turned out to be cheaper than a similar trip by bus.

Worst airport I've ever seen.
Very badly managed and disorganized.
I don't know where to start to tell the many scandals: from services to people, to gate management, security ... nothing works.

I hope I never have to travel again using this airport.

Definitely better manageable, certainly not up to other airports, however it does its dirty duty

Cards almost never works, bring cash. Very few options for food , all expensive. The place is too small for the amount of traffic, so be prepared to the crowd. Safety checks are quite fast despite the crowd and the Italian police.

Nice, clean tidy, people at the desks always smiling and ready to help you, congratulations to all the staff keep it up !!

I leave often, at least every 3/4 months I attend. Airport that now can count among the most important in Italy is very small for the volume of travelers who frequent it. In addition, the last time I went there a few weeks ago, almost all the toilets out of use or very dirty, I look absolutely to be reviewed.

Absolutely woeful. Two hours to go after I checked in so no problem - Right? Wrong.

Managed to get through the 100/150 yard single queue for all flights two minutes to spare and they (easyJet) then tried to force us to put our hand luggage in the hold having paid extra to have it with me when I booked.

Dire.

Use another airport Pisa is good. I'd also advise that you try to use any provider over EasyJet who in 5 days have cancelled our outbound flight and then made us put our hand luggage in the hold (successfully on our rearranged outbound and unsuccessfully on the way back) because they run a strict gates close 30 minutes before takeoff. Mind you take off was late on both flights. Like I say dire

Flights departing regularly late, indecent baths, baggage recovery of exasperating slowness.

Poor G. Marconi! Trolley for absent luggage, poor service cleaning, lost luggage corner PESSIMO. In short, it can be done MUCH better considering how much the airport is expanding.

A few less stores for a few more chairs to wait for boarding maybe. It seems to be waiting for the bus.

I think that Bologna airport cannot keep up with the increase in needs. Significant improvements have already been made but many are still to be done: first and foremost parking lots maybe a bit ugly and impractical, suitable pedestrian paths. I don't like the sign very much.

Maybe not so pretentious on structural base but very usefull with it's location, although it is not very structurally ambitious.

The operation was normal at a small airport.
I arrived by a late-night flight, but the taxi that went to the city was rip-off and I got an error.
Caution is required.

It is always full of people and the security staff has no respect for the passengers. They suck.

One of the worst airports you can imagine. The delivery of luggage is simply SHAME !!!!!

Not only this airport is over small and you can't find anything to do unless to go and sit in the Italian restaurant which is obviously hiring a bunch of thieves...I ordered 1 glass of local red wine and 1 frite with a small bottle of water...first I was on phone didn't notice that he took 19 instead of 13...in 5 min come back the guy for sure saw me cominh back and disappear...his partner for sure start to look like he doesn't understand english even though he spoke in front of me before...they asked their customer after finish eating to go pay by themselves and for sure no invoice at all...

00.30 queue waiting for the taxis, which are not there. Maybe Uber isn't that bad as a service.

Less crowded. Anybody can enter before one hour to flying time

Many services including the barberia.

Stopover well served, but badly organized structure: terribly slow security gates in the morning and very few services in the gate areas that close early in the evening ... Finally the baggage claim is slow and constantly crowded so as to block even those who are trying to get out.

Much to be improved.

Extraordinarily embarrassing.
Perhaps the pinnacle of incompetence is reached in baggage delivery which takes biblical time. However, they have a record, they always manage to do worse than the flight previously taken.

Only a shame about the high cost of parking (P1 and P2, the only really comfortable ones inside the airport).
Quick checks and a good amount of shops (also a small supermarket)

Car parks are expensive and always full, in my opinion also a bit small due to the influx of people who are there

A dynamic airport, but still everything is fast and tidy ... good coffee and food at more than affordable prices. Despite the large flow of people, everything happens without tension. Cleanliness is everywhere. Very close to Bologna and travel options to the city are by public transport, airbus and taxis. The short distance makes the taxi bill small, and if you travel more than two, it is preferable to buses ...

It's my job and I'm proud to be an airport employee.

Over the years it would be nice to see investments that expand spaces to allow users and workers to have a more comfortable environment.

To date, the coronavirus has stopped our work but we are ready for the restart and I am convinced that we will be better than before.

I trust the shareholders hoping to see the most beautiful airport in the world right here in Bologna before retirement.

The airport is small and there is some delay in some trips that has a two gate

It was the first time I had come to this airport, and I have to say that I was amazed by the fact that once the control security has passed, there is no smoking area nor an outdoor area. All gates in the gates are overshadowed and the level of cleanliness is poor. The shops are very few and the catering is the same. I will certainly try to avoid it as an airport next time

Good social distancing measures in place. Clean and smooth. Wait for us was about 8 minutes at border control. No temperature taken.

I have good experience with restaurant but I have never a terrible experienced with airport staff.

When I got boarding pass on the desk I didn t check in online so I have to pay!! What? Anyway I was a bit late so I paid 55euro then I back to the desk.
After she checked You did check in already but They didn t refund my money and then she said your gate closed What????
Another staff came to us she said to them so gate open again then I was running to the gate!!
OMG!!!! she did lie all passengers waiting for the gate!!!

After I explain to my friend she back to them.
But they didn t explain anything!!
That was terrible experience!!!

You can get lost. And at all, obciciowe, poor marking, few seating places.

An airport that offers many flights and after the recent restructuring offers a wide range of services to passengers while waiting before the flight. The queue management to the Gates is to be improved. Security checks are quick. sufficient bathroom cleaning.

Small airport for passengers. You can't even sit down to wait for the flight.

I travel frequently from this airport on business. Always the usual problem on arrival: very long wait for baggage reclaim (I never understood the reason). Sometimes for a one hour flight I waited an hour and a half before my suitcase arrives. Absurd!!!

Normal airport at normal level only there is a little chaos especially when boarding the aircraft

Impossible to park in queues anywhere. You always risk finding an unwelcome surprise. Maximum disorganization.

Beyond the logistics and organization that may be questionable but they are certainly not the worst ... There are no words to describe the staff. I understand that it is not easy to manage a flow of like-minded people, but they talk to people as if they were beasts. A minimum of courtesy and respect should be there from the moment you work with the public. Shameful. I have been traveling for years and I do not think I have met more rude staff than at this airport.

The airport is really busy. There are too many passengers and the space is too smala. Attraction Of the airport is the marshaller car, a Lamborghini

Poorly managed security check! Risks of losing the plane than they are slow

Renovated, efficient, structurally unexceptionable, full of shops and restaurants both in the boarding and gates area as well as security checks, and in the common areas ..
The only defect is the long corridor that those who land in Bologna are obliged to travel through the arrivals area before leaving the common area of the airport ..

Very large and well-stocked airport. Unfortunately the average rating is very low because usually a reviewer tends to do so because he was disappointed by the airport services.

The airport has very small prices in the duty free shops from space !!!

Convenient airport because it is located right inside the city. Unlike many others who are distant and uncomfortable. It is located at exit 4 of the ring road and taxi numbers are also available at night.

Really but really disorganized for the baggage, I was more than an hour before I could recover my luggage, because of them I also missed the bus connection and had to stay another hour at the airport.
I really do not recommend a departure or arrival from this airport.

Well organised for Covid measures. Luggage delivery a bit slow. Very practical size airport

Has the potential to be a tiny familiar airport. Unfortunately misses it by far. Had to spent 6 hours there finding out that luggage storage only accepts hand luggage size, but check-in counters refuse to accept bags to be handed in more than three hours before departure. Restaurants tend to be noisy and less comfortable than in comparable european airports. Employees gambling and chatting in coffee bars. Not a relaxing place to be.

One of the worst airports in the world. Everything seems to make one's experience the worst possible (in order to appreciate the service other airports have?). Today's niceties included: checking-in and departure at different levels (check-in / luggage drop on the ground floor, departure gates on the first floor), while the road signs make you choose departures and you end up having to descend to the ground floor to check in / check your luggage; then there's a very small number of tiny departure boards that occasionally stop functioning as departure boards to show you some ads (I had to go to an information desk just to ask for a check-in desk number for my flight.) Once checked-in, I had to climb the stairs to get to the business lounge, because the escalator was not functioning (the down escalator did function though). The Marconi lounge deserves its own one star rating because after a recent renovation I only found ONE desk for a laptop with just one power outlet and a very tall stool instead of convenient chairs they used to have last year (the lounge food is scarce and uninteresting, contrasting sharply with what I normally have anywhere else; they could've put a coffee machine there, instead of keeping to coffee ladies and use the money for better food offering.) The fast security track they have for the Marconi lounge passengers is apparently used also for delivery of goods to the shops (why didn't they make a separate goods access, it's beyond my understanding.) Then I faced an extremely long emigration queue with just one person who did both fast track (only available for families) and everyone else with non-European passports, and it took him up to 5 minutes to check just one person. No jet bridges at all, everything's done by buses that wait till completely full and only then depart to a plane, making the whole boarding priority system useless.
Honestly, if I had a choice, I would've NEVER used this airport which exemplifies poor design choices and poor management. Avoid it, if you can.

Poor management, expensive and slow bus connection (and when there is a people moover the ticket price will not drop). Absurd baggage delivery times, small and poorly managed spaces. Only when the managers are capable and non-political managers of the recycled coop does the airport have any hope of functioning properly

Self. For and very clean and tidy. The files are quite acceptable for security checks and I can always pass all the checks within a short time.

We are leaving for Amsterdam, it is almost five o'clock in the morning and the airport is already full but it seems that the airport operator is not interested in anything. All closed. Only one counter is working at the security checkpoint, I can't believe it. We are in Bologna to stay in a place of the third world. Yet it's all expensive, even the taxi driver who accompanied us said the same thing when he had to do the back because the ticket didn't work. But how is this possible, someone could answer. I have used 20+ airports and this was by far my worst experience. This place is short staffed and ugly. We had to wait an hour to go through customs, and then an additional hour for our luggage. Putting stuff on a band shouldn t take 2 hours.

Kiosk food at 5 star restaurant rates. The arrangements are so bad that a small number of people get queues everywhere.

Not a lot of choice here. Position is Ok but car hire is miles to walk. Luggage deliver very slow and car park is always full. An intl airport in bologna should be mutch better
