Not sure how the animals feel about zoos. I am kinda over them ethically.
But when in Adelaide this is a nice small zoo that is easy to get around in about 3 hours complete. Panda's the main attraction.

As a Wedding Supplier we are privileged enough to work at many events at this gorgeous venue!
We have always found Sophie, Elise and the team to be supportive, organised and well drilled with all facets of all events. We always get a chance to work with the staff on the night as well as enjoying the gorgeous food supplied and have never had a bad experience!
Highly recommend!!

A good zoo that tries to balance between animal needs and human visitors. However you can't get away from the 19th century design and size of most of the enclosures, despite extensive work done to make it fall more natural. Enrichment programs help, but can't replace space. I've also noticed a lot of build work and permanently temporarily closed exhibits.

Friendly staff. Would definitely visit them again. Worth taking the annual membership. Just a tip, make sure you pick a good parking spot. As there are schools near by that might be closing and parents coming pick up their kids and traffic can go nuts in mins and it kinda matches with time when zoo close as well.

My grandchildren (2 and 10yrs) and I had a lovely time strolling along the pleasant pathways and visiting with all the animals. The zoo was amazingly clean and it was very obvious that they cared about the animals and their habitats. Will definitely visit again.

This family friendly not for profit is a great day out for young and old. The petting zoo is open for all ages which is a win in my book. Bring in your own food or buy some in there. Fill up your water bottles at the fountains to drink plenty of fluids. Can hire a kids pusher for 15 for the day to save those little legs. Wheel chairs also for hire.

We havn't been in a year to the Adelaide Zoo and with all the advertising they are doing with the new interactive kids area. Went today and was a bit of a let down, the new area was nice but wasn't any staff insight to allow the kids to handle / touch animals. Except to feed the goats

It's always a great day out with the family at Adelaide Zoo. There's plenty to see and do, with guided tours, an animal feeding zone for the kids. Plus lots of shaded areas to have a picnic during the warmer months.

Such a fantastic zoo- we may not have the biggest display but we have quality. The panda enclosure is fantastic and the gardens within the zoo are gorgeous s throughout the year. An easy walking zoo with nice picnic areas and a great adventure playground near the cafe.

I really love this place because I've never been and I find it funny because there are animals here. Don't know why a zoo would want animals but at least we can see humains in the cages! That's cool. I'm Canadian by the way and I've never been to Australia so... Have fun!!

My favourites were the meerkats. But its cool that they had some other animals like lions, giraffes, sea Lion's and most importantly Wang Wang the panda. I've been to other zoos in the world that felt like they had a lot more to offer, but this was still a great day out and I'd still recommend a visit to others if a trip to the zoo is your thing.

Adelaide Zoo is a great place to visit, especially with children. There are animals from all around the world here in many varied settings. Look out for the keeper talks and feeding times for a more in-depth experience with the zoo handlers where you are provided with extra information about the animals and you have the chance to ask questions too. There is a playground for the children to burn off some energy if they have any left after walking around the extensive grounds. Be aware, however, that there are only two individual unisex toilets at the playground so it's better to use different ones around the zoo before you get here - particularly if it's a busy day (I was with a group of children from vacation care and this was frustrating).

The zoo is so worth a visit with many exciting things to see and do. Particularly enjoyed seeing the giant pandas and the big cats. Also the monkeys running and swinging in the trees. Recent renovations have really enhanced the experience of going to this zoo. Put this on your itinerary if you're visiting Adelaide.

Great day out for the family. Loved seeing the animals looking happy and cared for. Easy to get around, not too many areas that weren't easily accessible with a stroller. Lots of kids around and they were certainly well catered for. Parking could be an issue I envision, however, we were very lucky to get an excellent spot at the very front.

Crept in after hours with my druid clan an sacrificed one of their tiger's, took a couple spells and potions to calm the beast before the ritual so they should work on the animals behavior more as my robes were torn by the beasts claws. overall average spot, probably wont return

A beautifully done zoo, with a lot of animals to see, plenty of play areas for children, and is nicely shaded. The staff are fantastic, and their knowledge and care for the animals are apparent. Be sure to go through the rainforest and wetlands aviary for a chance to hear and see their lyrebird and echidnas. Additionally, the native animal contact area is great for kids and adults who enjoy the opportunity to pet wallabies and quokkas.

What an outstanding site! Oddly enough, I've been to a lot of different zoos, and even a couple abroad. But This one is amazing. Great place for kids to learn about animals they may never see in person in the wild. Highly recommend!!!

Best zoo i've been to in Australia. The only Giant panda bears you can find in the country are right here. a 50+ year old hippopotamus! The monkey enclosure with Siamang's and Gibbons are awesome. The Tamarin enclosure is extremely unique and has a big variety of tamarins.

Disappointed. Most animals were asleep and in their houses. If you want to see animals up close and looking happy visit the Halls Gap Zoo. All animals are very visible easy to walk around zoo and a large number of exhibits.

It's my cheap to get into. There are a lot of empty enclosures. The new children's zoo area looks amazing but there are only the goats to feed. The old children's area was far and away better. Okay the playground was pretty good but you can good free playgrounds that are just as good.
I feel sad that our zoo has deteriorated to this extent! Last week was my last visit.

Our first visit after moving to SA from NSW. One of the best Zoos we have been to. The Panda's were great but "Trevor" the Lyre bird's performance was outstanding. He performed for the whole 25 minutes we were watching him.

Bring out the kid in everyone. Visited when the dinosaurs are on displayed. Very entertaining with sound effects and movements. It is a large zoo, but less than Melbourne and not a five stars. There is a cafe for good replenishment and vending machines dispensing drinks throughout the zoo. However would like to see more bubble tap around the zoo for those who wish to save a fee dollars. Some animals are touchable, feeding experience is available at a cost unfortunately with limited space.

An idea for the zoo is to have a guide for the animals, showing tree hair active time and a little about themselves, such as nature, habits, behaviors. Also these are briefly mentions at each station, just wish they provide or offer one handheld.

We had a fabulous day. It was 40+ degrees but there are so many beautiful shaded areas that it did not ruin our family day. Staff were friendly and we enjoyed chatting to them about the animals. The push around carts for the kids are a great idea.
Good value for money
