If you're a local you know Adams. They probably have what you're looking for. Quality is always top notch, the help is always ready to lend a hand and direct you to what you might be looking for. Lines form but they push you out quickly. Worst thing might be the parking but honestly it's not an issue.

Produce selection is good, but found turmeric and oregano with mold this visit.
I love this place and would have given it 5 stars, but seen a moldy blackberry on one of the cheesecakes in the bakery the other day. First time I ever seen a problem though. Otherwise food is always fresh and delicious and great variety in produce and their sweet shop is out of this world.

This supermarket is awesome. Great deli department, excellent meat department and super fresh produce. Very extensive dairy department.
Only place I could find speciality cheeses outside of New York City's Zabar's.
Their prepared foods are delicious and not too expensive.
Wednesday nights after 5pm they offer 10% off your full order.
They have a massive green house, plants and trees and anything else you need for your garden. They also have decorative stone and a landscaping service.
Their new bakery is a delicious addition too. The Apple Crisp pie was to die for. Breads, rolls and bagels are terrific.
They also have an amazing gourmet candy section.
They are now in full Christmas mode. Lovely Christmas trees at reasonable rates.

Insane lack of control in the parking lot, while not a direct Adams food issue, it is their problem to resolve or have someone guide and prevent fights between customers vying for parking spots. I'll just go elsewhere.

I have been a loyal customer for many years and for the most part, I have been delighted with the quality of the food I have purchased. A few years ago, I stopped buying the peaches because many times they were mealy and not very juicy. I switched to nectarines. Now, this year I have gotten many that are not juicy and become rotten near the stem. Are they being picked too early? I've thrown too many out. Please improve the quality of these items.
Love this place! The food is amazing, people are nice, over just great. A great store for healthy foods with lots of organic options. Highly recommend to check it out if you're looking for a grocery store with healthy options that wont break the bank. Their bakery is amazing, as well as their deli and cheese counters. And the pre made foods are delicious as well. My family and I love shopping here and always find good things!

Good selection in general and lively atmosphere. They make their own cheese too. I kind of wish the mozzarella was softer but not be overall. A little pricey maybe.

They also carry quality pantry items, desserts, cheeses, flowers, and garden supplies.They have a fantastic selection of coffee (ground to order). If you go on any Wednesday evening for Customer Appreciation, after 5pm, you'll get a discount on your purchase.

An interesting place... a garden center combined with a grocery store. The grocery store has a lot of local meat and produce in season and it's just different enough from your typical grocery store to be interesting. Occasionally Garden related shows and demonstrations are held in the garden center.
Adams has the best produce in the area outside of a farmstand. Prices for produce are still quite reasonable. Quality for all types of food and non-food items is consistantly high. Adams is maintaining its long-standing position as one of the Hudson Valley's leading purveyors of gourmet-quality foods and serious gardening supplies.
However, outside of the produce department, prices for many items have been increasing at an off-putting rate in the past decade. As time goes by, many of those long-standing bargains that everyone used to love (e.g. the store-made peanut butter) are starting to be "positioned" more like chi-chi ripoffs for people who have too much money to concern themselves over prices.
So, come for the produce. You won't be dissapponted. And if there is some hard-to-find specialty item such as an imported cheese, they will probably have it, albeit at a "you've got to be kidding me" price. If you can afford it, do all your shopping at Adams, and you will eat very well.

A great grocery store, though it won't have everything you might get at a supermarket. A dozen high end artisinal olive oils, but no soap or shampoo.
Amazing selections of coffee, cheese, fish, protein, all high end and at a good price. Highly recommended for any goodies out there.
Note, this isn't like whole foods where everything is marked up. You can buy your regular groceries here without paying an arm and a leg.
Love this store. I like the Poughkeepsie store better than the Wappingers store. The staff seems friendlier but that is just my opinion and experience. Adams in Poughkeepsie has been part of our family for decades. Very happy at their success in the area and hope it continues for plenty of more decades. It is so well known...almost iconic.
Been going here since it was the only one. Always fresh food. You even see the owners helping out around the store. A true family owned store.

Fruits and vegetables are very fresh. Ample parking. Garden section is replete with plants and herbs. Staff are very helpful.
This is my very favorite tr e place to shop in the whole Hudson Valley. Today I just went there for their excellent freshly made hot soups and homemade bread as,I had done a big shop late last week .
