There are so many different stations with delicious prepared foods on top of the normal groceries. Soups, cheeses, salad bars, sushi, bakery, candies, etc. It is the services that many grocery stores offer but with lots of unique items and made with professional staff. Then there is there garden and lumber supplies. It is a very sweet spot with several in the Hudson Valley each with their own specialties.

Used to love Adams. Lately, not so much. They are selling a lot of bad produce. The end of fall it was bad apples that should ve been for horses. Recently, I couldn t find a decent potato out of the entire stock. All of them soft. Multiple More

This place is awesome! They have a great selection and great quality items. The prices can be a bit higher to some if you've never shopped there before but you will definitely get what you pay for. They have a beautiful garden and flower center!

Though the last time I was there I fell out flat on my face. I never had a problem with their service before. The prices seem quite reasonable. You can get a variety of things needed for the kitchen/home and most of all, I loooooooooooooooove the plants collection. If you love plants, indoor or outdoor thats the best place to go. My firat time there I was in love. Walking around in the indoor green house was heaven. Surreal.

Oh! This Adams does not even compare to my local adams in Wappingers. What a selection of plants, cheese and gifts. Well worth my drive to the Poughkeepsie Adams. Also it is closer to my Daughters so we go together. What's better than that, I do my shopping and get quality time with her.

I purchased 19 trees and shrubs from Adams nursery over a two year period for my home. Adams has a large diverse selection from which to choose. The staff is knowledgeable and exhaust their efforts to satisfy and win the loyalty of their customers. When I had to return a shrub within the two year warranty the staff without hassle honored the warranty. I also purchased decorative rocks for my landscape and the two deliveries were accurate and delivered as scheduled.

I don t care how many times I go to Adams in Poughkeepsie, which is seldom, the staff there, particularly customer service are always rude. They look at people as if there s something wrong with them. Really don t like Adams.

THE place to go for fresh fruit, veggies, fish, poultry, a meat. Their garden center is well stocked and the employees know their stuff. Long established family owned and operated business. Very much a part of the fabric of the community.

Annoying teenage employees and extremely cluttered isles that makes you feel like they need traffic lights and stop signs at every intersection because people are in there own little world and the seniors are the worst part. Edit as of 7/18. Nice changes as in a little more spacious but still clogged with customers standing around chatting, blocking isles acting like no one else exists. It's so annoying and frustrating trying to get around this store because the customers. Definitely the best place for the best produce and prime meats. Open up the isles more and make employees help a group of seniors stop talking and blocking everyone from moving and make them get OUT OF THE WAY!!!!

Great high end grocery store. They have a lot of items that you can t find at a typical grocery store. On the other hand, you won t find Lay s potato chips or Top Ramen here. They have a great bakery, a great candy section, a well stocked deli, a well stocked produce section, a great butcher section and a great seafood section. There is a cheese counter that is over the top in the amount and variety of cheeses. There is a really good grill and ice cream counter as well. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

This is an older store, very eclectic in its set-up. This the flagship, then Kingston 1981, Newburgh 1998 and lastly Wappingers in 2011. The Poughkeepsie store has things in odd places. Very tight and cluttered even. Many times it looks like a child planned the store. Then you turn a corner and they'll be something totally put of place. What I mean is there's a bakery an best to it you'll have outdoor furnature and then next to that there's produce. There are very tight choke points - very common in all Adam's. And at these choke points there's multiple products stacked to get your attention. There are a lot of variety in their product. But the prices on the same product between their own stores seems to be different. The parking only seems adequate on off times. Wednesday it's 10% off so be prepared for the store to be mobbed and the lot to be full.

The Hudson Valley is lacking Trader Joe's and Whole Foods - so till then Adam's is the only game for organic and higher quality products. For everyday products go to a big box supermarket. Adams doesn't even stock those products anyway.

The new addition of Adam's Kitchen is like a caterer. All available online per store.

UPDATE: Amazon has put out a press note that they're opening 250 new "Whole Foods" and the Hudson Valley - Fishkill, on fact, is near the top of the area list.
