Ad Couture Review

I'd like to get married again just so I can get a dress from here! I have bought a basque from her and was very impressed with the service and quality of work from Jo and her team. I cannot recommend highly enough the all-round brilliance, creativity, accessibility and bespokeness (I just made up a word!) of this wonderful place. You can get shoes, lovely embroidered accessories, that gold leather jacket is just amazing! Glam, punk, faery, 20's, 50's, sci-fi - Jo and her team will advise and the only limitation is your imagination (theirs is off the wall). Just go. X

I'm one of those people who doesn't really know what they want but they are very particular. When I came up with my crazy 80's denim parrot dress idea I really couldn't have found a better company to realise it for me. Jo listened to all my mad idea's and somehow managed to turn it in to a sketch I loved and then in to THE most perfect Thai jungle vow renewal dress. I even swam in a river in it and it held up to everything and still looks as amazing now as it ever did. The best thing about Jo and The Couture Company is that they want to help you achieve whatever it is your are dreaming of and as a larger lady not once was I made to feel 'less attractive' like some bridal wear shops do. I can't rate Jo and the team more highly and I recommend her to anyone who'll listen.

I honestly couldn't be more ecstatic about my wedding dress! Jo and her team were amazing. On hand to give advice and also some badass suggestions on the dress, really personalised service, and all in all I got THE most beautiful dress I have ever seen I LOVE it and I received so many compliments on it! I just don't want to take it off!! Can I do it all again? Please?!

When you get engaged, it's tricky to even know where to start looking for your perfect dress. One day my sister tagged me in an Instagram post she had seen on The Couture Company, and when I saw it, I just knew Even though the shop is in Birmingham and me in London, I had to make the journey to try on the sample. And it was the only one I tried before saying 'I do'!!! I cannot recommend this team enough to create something that'll make you feel most like you. After the wedding, I didn't want to take the dress off, and coz it came in 2 parts (corset and skirt) I'm thinking of ways in which I can continue wearing them! Thank you Jo & team. Xxx

I'd like to thank The Couture Company for making my wives wedding dress. I don't know much about dresses but I know when my wife looks fit and I've never seen her look as beautiful as she did on our wedding day. Jo and the team really looked after her when she travelled down for dress fittings and couldn't do enough to make her dream dress a reality. I couldn't recommend The Couture Company enough even though I'm a bloke and I don't wear dresses (often).

Jo and all her team at The Couture Company are brilliant - I can't thank them enough for the beautiful dress they created for my wedding in March 2018. From start to finish the team were so lovely and friendly. My dress was stunning, and how many brides can say they have a hand embroidered TARDIS on their wedding dress?! I highly recommend this business, and it was so, so worth travelling up from London to have the best bridal shopping experience and ultimately the wedding dress of my dreams.

Jo has an exceptional talent of looking inside your head, discovering all your hopes and dreams, then making it into a dress for you to wear on your special day.

I honestly cannot recommend the Couture Company and their staff enough. After some terrible experiences at some more mainstream shops, i immediately felt at home here. My ideas were met with enthusiasm and joy rather than eye rolls and blank faces. Jo and her team are incredibly talented and I would love to get married again just to be able to wear another fabulous creation.

Within a week of getting engaged, I had almost given up hope of finding a dress that was right for me. It was then that I stumbled across The Couture Company, Jo and the lovely team. I flew over from Ireland to Birmingham to meet Jo, and she not only was warm and welcoming, but she managed to draw and design the very dress I was imagining. The whole process felt like a real collaboration between Jo and me - even though it was Jo and her team who did the hard work - and it felt like we were creating something together. Every step, from design to finished dress, was an absolute delight; I have no idea how Jo and the team managed to handcraft the dress I saw in my head, but they did, and it was even better than I could have hoped.

On my wedding day I felt like me, first and foremost, but a heightened version of myself that I only could have dreamed of. I don't know what I would have done without The Couture Company, their friendliness, talent and skill, and the wonderful creation of theirs I got to wear on the happiest day of my life. I can never thank The Couture Company enough for their beautiful work; if you want something that is beautifully made, hand crafted and most of all, you, then The Couture Company is the place for you. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I knew I didn't want to have a traditional wedding dress, and I was having a hard time finding exactly what I wanted in the shop.

I stumbled across The Couture Company while Googling for dressmakers in my area and made an appointment not really knowing what to expect.

I ended up putting a deposit down there and then for a completely handmade dress with embellishment on the shoulders and sash.

Jo designed a floaty, colourful and flattering wrap-around Georgette masterpiece that felt like a piece of artwork to wear.

I hate the experience of having to try things on, but Jo is no fuss so it was quick and easy to have my appointments and fittings. No faff, just clear and honest conversation. Jo listened to what I wanted and found ways to make those dreams a reality. She was also very relaxed about making changes when I was freaking out about my shoes matching, and made me laugh at myself when I was paranoid that I looked frumpy.

I am very happy with the overall experience and absolutely adore the dress. I would recommend The Couture Company to anyone that wants to feel like themselves on their special day. You don't have to wear a white dress to feel like a princess.

My wedding dress was perfect in every way. Jo and the ladies made me feel beautiful. Their attention to detail is amazing. I recommend them to any lady that is thinking of her wedding day.

A unique place that loves life, love and your experience there - just the best place you could go to make your dream dress a reality!! Patient, creative and perfect. I would not have trusted anyone else to make my dress. Jo is incredibly talented and I would recommend her and her wonderful team wholeheartedly.

The staff are fantastic the end product is the dream dress and all the support in between is amazing. I loved the fact that Jo was as excited about the dress as I was.

Happened upon the shop today as it was by a wedding venue we were viewing and I was interested. Knocked on the door because it said to knock if no one answered - asked, who I presume was the proprietress, if I could have a look at the dresses - she informed me in an extremely abrupt and rude manor that it was by appointment only (no mention of this in the window) and she seemed exceptionally put out when I had the audacity to ask for a card as the gowns were very much the sought of thing I am looking for. It was an extremely poor customer service experience and because of this thourghly rude interaction I will not be returning to the shop. I would rather take my business else where, to someone who would appreciate it and not treat me like a pariah.

If you can dream it, Jo and her team will make it. So glad I decided to go with a bespoke Wedding dress - I had the colour, materials and style I wanted with face to face service. If you are a plus-sized bride and love corsets, The Couture Co is perfect. (Andy Li Photography)

Fantastic customer service. Jo and her team are extremely talented, friendly, and provide a first class service. My wedding dress was amazing, I felt like a 1950s Hollywood movie star and the comments I received on my dress we're amazing, even the registrar gasped in amazement

I picked up my dress today and i cannot wait to wear it!

From the moment I walked into The Couture Company and met Jo I knew that they would be able to create my dream dress...and they did not disappoint, it exceeded all of my expectations.

I had been to lots of other shops first and couldn't find 'the' dress and found that the staff could be quite short with me when I didn't make a decision...Jo listened to what I wanted and made me and my (v loud) bridesmaids feel so welcome...

Absolutely nothing could prepare me for the happiness I felt as I saw my wedding dress, completed, plucked straight from my head and hanging in front of me in the Couture Company Shop!!!! Jo and her amazing team have been brilliant from day 1, I showed Jo my vision board for my dream dress and she just got me and exactly what I wanted, I couldn't believe my eyes even just looking at the drawings she had done for me! Being plus size I didn't feel confident going into the conventional white wedding dress shops, they just didn't feel me and I didn't want to feel judged for not wanting a white dress! I was made to feel absolutely normal and like the bride I was! I cannot praise Jo and her team enough, everything was utterly perfect and that's before the actual wedding day!!!! Once the day arrived I cannot tell you how many people were in complete awe of the dress, everyone was completely in love with it and the more you looked at it, the more you saw to love! My husband was blown away and couldn't believe I had managed to make a dress that was so me as well as being so awe-inducing! If you get the chance, please do consider the Couture Company for your wedding dress of dreams!!!! xxx

I cannot thank the beautiful and talented Jo enough for designing my dream wedding dress. As soon as I had my first consultation at The Couture Company everything fell into place. Her amazing team made me a flower hairband to compliment my look. It was perfect! I couldn t stop twirling all day! Thanks again so much :) xx

Being an older bride, it was very important that I didn t look like mutton trying to dress as lamb, but I wanted to wear something that made me feel special. Jo and the team ensured that I felt special from the moment I entered the shop. I wittered on about what I d seen and what was going on in my head and Jo listened patiently. Unknown to me, the whole time she was piecing together her design in her head and by the time we had finished chatting she had pretty much nailed exactly what I had visualised in my head and skilfully sketched it out before my eyes. Over the course of the next few months Jo s incredibly talented team turned that sketch into the dress of my dreams. People still talk about it now, 5 years on!!
If, like me, you aren t inspired by your bog standard off the peg dresses on the High ST then get yourself an appointment at Jo s shop, I guarantee you won t regret it.

I would recommend Jo and her team to any bride. I went to all the standard bridal shops and nothing I saw matched what I had in my head. After visiting Jo she sketched my dress then worked with me to find the right colour and texture material for the look I wanted. She translated what I had in my head perfectly. My dress was black and gold with stunning embroidery detail. On the day everyone commented how beautiful it was and I felt like a real princess. Thank you Jo . If you want a bespoke dress that will take your breath away this is the place for you !!

When I got engaged, dress buying was the least important part of the wedding planning...having been to a few wedding dress shops with friends who were getting married , i just knew no"regular" shop would have anything that firstly I would fit into and more importantly would suit my weird style. My best friend then sent me a picture from the "trailer trash" shoot with the Inkspiration dress and instantly I knew The Couture Company would be the one for me! I swiftly made an appointment and I can honestly say, it was the best decision I ever made! The dresses were all amazing and the one i picked was perfect for Heavy Metal Festival theme wedding. The tattoo designs were personalised to go with our theme, the bands we love and the tattoos we have. From the very 1st e-mail right up until I collected the dress, Jo was amazing and had great suggestions and came up with the most perfect dress that I felt fantastic in! I loved visiting the beautiful shop and never felt awkward at all! On the big day itself, everyone commented on how beautiful it was! Even my mum who wanted me to wear a traditional dress admitted that there is no other dress for me! Thank you so much Jo and the Team. You guys are brilliant and you made my day extra special! Anyone thinking about using the Couture Company....do it! It will be the best thing you decide for your wedding! xxx

Had the most beautiful dress made here, Joe was very thoughtful and made my family and I feel very welcome and open to ideas about different aspects of the dress. I couldn't have asked more from her and she gave me a dress that had everyone coming up to me al night long to say how stunning and beautiful my dress was. Will treasure it forever

I cannot recommend Jo and her team enough. They made me a gorgeous wedding dress, I loved every inch of it and Jo designed exactly what I described. It was perfect, I cannot recommend this company enough. If you want something beautiful and unique created then go to the couture company!!!
