Fascinating place. I only visited briefly for an event, but I plan to go back. Palpable sense of almost 300 years of Philadelphia history, but history that is still happening, not just an exhibit. They talk about Benjamin Franklin like he's a personal acquaintance. It's a museum, a library, a still-functioning Enlightenment Era club for book nerds and polymaths that like to talk. The entrance is ADA accessible, but I did not check the restrooms or ask about an elevator to collections on other floors. I will update the accessibility details after another visit.
The Library Company is an archive that holds one of the most important collections of early American print culture in the entire country. An absolute must on the bucket list for any serious student of U.S. history.
I don't know why people are leaving negative reviews so I thought I'd just leave one to boost the rating on google because I like Benjamin Franklin and this place is cool
