I thought a long time about this review. My dad has been there off and on and we've had some good and some very bad experiences. He's been there now for almost two weeks. One positive has been Mandy, his second floor nurse. She has been spectacular. Also, Manuela in the ER was very sweet and caring. Overall the nursing staff has been good. They are the reason that you get three stars. The doctors are another story. Dr. Cole has been the one exception. Slow moving, inattentive, and uncaring is the best I can say. I literally just had Dr. Yost tell me that my dad's internal bleeding "should have" stopped but had NO idea what his hemoglobin levels were and hadn't even looked at his labs for today. This is unacceptable. He also hasn't had a BM in over a week and he told me that he "wasn't concerned about that." We're in the process of figuring out how to move him to San Antonio because we've lost faith that the doctor's there can help him. I'm sad that Hendricks bought you because it's already showing. The level of care is steadily going to south. And now you no longer have a choice of care in Abilene.

This hospital is absolutely the worst Ive ever been in. For one thing its dirty which is absolutely disgusting there was bugs crawling around in the waiting room. There was only one doctor in the ER. I arrived here at 11:00 was not admitted to a room until 3 and now its 4 oclock in the morning and I stil have not seen a doctor. I have never been in such a horrible hospital. The nurses literally don't do anything. Nobody cares about you in this place. I can honestly say I will not be returning...ever.

2172 dollars for a 2 minute consultation with the doctor about throwing up on my way to work and some medicine that did not help. They sure are proud of their medical care I guess. I will avoid this overpriced, careless trap if possible.

Nothing but good care all around. Nurses were caring and professional, quick to respond and I had no issues. Doctor was fantastic. Professionals who took care of me prior to surgery, prep for surgery and recovery were excellent.

My 3yr old came in Monday unexpectedly and we were taken in so fast & had the drs waiting for us literally! They took such good care of my boy, never once were my questions not answered, then that day we were admitted for the night & went to the mother wing where we had Allison for the day & Missy for the night. Allison was wonderful she made sure mac was getting everything he was supposed to when he needed it. But Missy really touched my heart, she was extraordinary, she sat with Mac and talked to him, got to know him well before handling his situation but my favorite thing about her was she was genuinely kind, to me, my son & my husband & went out of her way for us & I ll never trust another hospital with my child.

i has a tramatic accident at my house. My wrist was shattered. My Surgeon Dr. Todd Pitts took amazing care of me. i felt he really cared about me. My Nurse said he called the Nurses Station at 2:00am to check on me. That went straight to my heart. He came by my room and explained what he did, wow i was a mess. He put me back together. i was tramatized and was afraid to go home the next day, he let me stay and i felt better about going home. Everyone from Cleaning, Cafeteria to Nurses were so very kind and helpful, most went above and beyond. My experience was over all a good one considering how I got there.

Visit was beyond unacceptable. You literally must be dying to be seen in the ER. I understand placing those in life threatening positions ahead of the individuals with less pressing issues. Why ask my pain tolerance level only to make me wait 5 more hours. Then after waiting the staff was rude and the doctor seemed to be an amateur. Careless staff that only cares about the next pay day.

They took good care of me and the nurses went above and beyond.
The only issue I encountered was the fact that they do not have nursing aides. This made my nurses less able to provide the care patients are expecting. Instead of doing nursing duties, they were busy passing out water and snacks, preparing patients for baths and other non medical issues. Never have I been in a place where the nurses were less supported by ancillary staff.

Recently went in to the ER, quick front desk service. Admitted to a room less then 10min. RN Rick was more then hopefully. Brought in a bed for my wife to sleep on hearing regardless of the length she had to report to work at 8am. No hassles, no 20 questions, just quick professional and courteous staff!

Thank you to the ER physician that listened to his gut and admitted my husband for observation on Friday night. He had a mild heart attack Saturday morning in the hospital. He was taken to cath lab on Sunday and had open heart surgery on Wednesday!! He had an awesome nurse on the floor on Saturday and Sunday!! She worked her tail off trying to keep him comfortable and informed. So grateful for the caring people that took care of my husband during his stay!!

Worst ER ever. My dad came in, in extreme pain with a backed up catheter. We waited an hour before they even took him in. Even after me telling them that the last time this happened, it could kill him. The nurse that called him back acted like he could not have cared any less.

I have been a patient at Regional twice in 2018. On both occasions, I was treated with care and professionally. I simply will not go to Hendrick owing to nearly losing my wife to a staph infection incurred during a back operation. The following treatment left a great deal to be desired. So when I read other reviews recommending Hendrick, I say do so at your peril.

Went in Thursday night around 6:30pm, 1/19/2017. I waited over 2.5 hours before I even got to the back. They weren't that busy. The Triage guy nurse was extremely rude and not caring. I was explaining how I was sick 3 weeks ago and had a cough that would never go away, and he said I don't care about that, I need to know what it is now. I said its related. I went in for severe fever, shivers, cold feeling, aches all over, shoulder pains, almost feeling like I would collapse. He also wasn't listening very well when I was telling him what medicines I was on. You would think for someone having these issues that is on Blood Pressure meds would be more of a concern. Next, I finally get called back, the male nurse took a few basic measurements, and them some lady walked in and said we need this room, we have a patient with chest pains coming in, so they stick me into a room in the back with a chair (very uncomfortable). They no longer checked any of my vitals at all. I could be having a heart issue! Nurse Practitioner came in and listened to my chest, and recommended x-rays and flu test, which both were negative. It took over an hour to get both those done. Per them, I have allergies/viral thing everyone is getting, and go home and get some rest. They shot me with a pain med. NO ANTIBIOTICS subscribed or shot with at all. They didn't even check my throat, or anything else. I asked them, and they refused to do it. After being there almost 6 hours, I left at midnight with nothing done, and still had a fever. Went home and the next morning went to a clinic and guess what, got antibiotics, and shots. And now today, I am feeling better. I am going to find a way to fight this bill that I know Regional is going to send me for no service. DO NOT USE THIS HOSPITAL ER. They are terrible. We have been several times and every time it has been awful. This is the last time.

It was a terrible experience he didn't want to see my medicine they didn't care what I came in there for I waited 3 hours before I got seen in the back and then they didn't see me they did a CAT scan with nothing they didn't use to dye or anything then they came back and said said I had a UTI and I needed to take medicine for it or whatever but then they they said oh wait wrong patient really wrong patience. We don't know what's wrong with you go see your regular doctor have a nice night didn't get home until 7 in the morning and that's from 9pm till 7 am ..... Wow they need to tear down the place along with the staff.

Everytime we go to this hospital and/or er it's never plesent. The nurses and staff ignore you and act like one doctor and one nurse run the entire hospital. The er room are nasty, one time my daughter was taken in for asthma and when we got into the room after 6 hours setting there was blood all over the place, luckily I had my nebulizer and her inhaler on hand. Second time we went in at 8 p.m. with a busted lip that needed stiches from a skating accident finally at 5:30 A.M. we were taken back for stiches and since we had been setting there for almost 12 hours we were hungry, tired, and aggrevated the nurses had the nerve to call c.p.s on us the next day for tempers running high and me and my husband being "rude" with them, they wanted to check on the welfare of my child. Also had a admissions clerk let my daughter be aware she's adopted when me and my husband felt that when the time was right for her to know we'd tell her. Absolutely worst hospital ever it needs completely new staff with caring loving characters or just shut down and demolished

The doctor has a great bed side manner seems like he cares about all his patient's. The nurses were very attentive. I had a good experience at Abilene Regional Hospital. I would recommend to all my friends and family. From.1 to 10 with 10 the highest level I would say a 12. Very satisfied. Thank you From Margie Castaneda.. Dr. MARONEY ROCKS!

HORRIBLE...very rude, cold, bad attitudes. 65 yrs, old and they left me laying on the floor crying and going into shock for 15 minutes. triage is a nightmare and a doctor named richard needs to find employment elsewhere as he could not even recognize that i was in shock and threatened me because i could not stop crying. the emerg. rm director - craig - just laughed when i tried to file a complaint. i am reporting them to every agency i can find.

At check in I was ignored before I could even hand the person the paperwork. Once I sat in the back, my issue was immediately checking me out dismissed as not serious, the nurse who took my blood remarked that I had the skin of a diabetic, and my favorite was the checkout when I was told that I looked like I was on Medicaid. Whatever the **** that means.

They sued me. Over an $800 bill (for 2 breathing treatments, 2 shots & a CXR due to severe asthma attack). Literally served me papers then didn't show up 2 court which made me lose a day of work! I never got a bill in the mail, a phone call, or anything from them until the suit. If I could give 0 stars I would. I'd rather DIE than go to Regional ever again. Steer clear of this place. Go to Hendricks. Regional is HORRIBLE.

The nurses in the PCU were outstanding. The facilities were sparkling clean and the doctors and technicians were very knowledgeable and kind. I would highly recommend Abilene Regional to anyone with heart issues.

I cannot believe that I was not allowed to go in the er room with my husband who was barely cohesive enough to answer questions and has been ongoing chemo treatment and is on several different medications to which he can t even answer questions about due to being so out of it! TELL me what kind of care you think that is! WORST trip ever! Smells like lawsuits waiting to happen. Better hope they treat him properly!

I came to the emergency room and waited over one hour and half.people whom came after me where seen. My leggs gave out on me and I could put any weight or stand up. I told the intake nurse I had been getting shots when. This happened. I have always used this hospital s and never had to wait so long to see anyone. If I could walk I would leave .I hurt really bad and in several pairs

I really want to give nurse connie on the fourth floor in med/surg unit a big shoot out she is a very kind person she made my stay a positive experience, she is very good at what she does thank you to the hospital and especially nurse connie!! Thanks

Labor and delivery nurses extremely unprofessional, told outright lies to myself and my wife, no admin. personnel on weekend duty so all decisions were left up to nurses, bad idea, contacted lawyer to see if any litigation is possible, dont walk away from abilene regional RUN!!!!

Quick to be seen and awesome teamwork in the Emergency Department. Admitting PA, Kyle McC, was very thorough and explained things well, taking time to listen. The staff on PCU was excellent, checking on me often yet respecting my privacy.

I received the best care during my recent hospital stay. Every staff member I encountered was so wonderful. From the ER visit to Med surge to Radiology, the folks from the lab, physical therapy, housekeeping, dietary, and the doctors who cared for me. Everyone was excellent and treated me special.

My visit was great, every staff member treated me ...

My visit was great, every staff member treated me very well and answered all my questions. I had to visit four different offices for the various tests that day, I waited maybe three minutes average at each. Great work!

About two weeks ago I was seen for chest pains in the ER. I have never been seen so fast in my life. I'm pretty sure it was less than four minutes from walking in the ER entrance to laying in a bed wired up with sensors and talking to a cardiologist. I'm still amazed, the slowest part was walking to the room where they put me, that was maybe 30 seconds and 200 feet.

Great work!

Rude and stupid.

Rude and stupid.

Took my mother to the ER with severe pain in her hip and leg. She couldn't even walk and was bawling and screaming in pain! We waited for 4 hours before she was seen. The ER was full of people that had stomach aches and non-emergency illnesses. You would think the triage nurse would put the people that had the worse condition back first. Nope. We waited and waited and it was literally who came in first, second, third, etc. My mother has a very high tolerance to meds as do I, and the nurse practioner that we saw would not listen. He gave her 2 shots and then tried to discharge her. The pain meds did nothing. I refused to take her home and gripped enough that they sent the real doctor in. His response was basically the same thing. Since this is a chronic issue, she would need to see a pain management Doctor. He gave us a name of a guy gave her 2 more shots of pain meds and we waited anothe hour just for those pain meds not to work either. By this time we had been there almost 7 hours and nothing was accomplished to help her or make her comfortable. They said that's all the pain meds they could give and there was nothing else they could do and sent us on our way. So this morning I call the pain management Doctor to make an appointment and guess what???? No referral was ever sent by the ER and they wouldn't be able to make an appointment without one!!!!!! Don't you think the ER doctor should have known that????? I am disgusted with the way they treat people that are in pain. If the hospital can't do anything for you, then where do you go if you've been in a car wreck or have a gunshot wound? Obviously they can't take care of you and make you comfortable, you'll just sit in the waiting room and die!

Just had my daughter here and it was ok. Some nurses were really sweet and I enjoyed them. I had to constantly call the nurse for everything and you would think they would check on you on their own after abdominal surgery. The food was some of the worst food I have ever had. Make sure to bring your lunch if your staying here.

Worst hospital ever. Nurses won't help with anything. You tell them that you need them and they will take forever to attend you. They don't have enough night staff to attend their patients well and nurses are rude and snobby. Once you're rude back they start acting sweet. If you need a hospital would a million times recommend Hendricks its worth any wait time.

I have been in the ER a few times. The nurses have good skills and can do their job good but I have seen several nurses that are pretty rude to their patients. Some nurses are friendly but others are quite the opposite.

I have stayed in ARMC on 5 separate occasions, today is the fifth time. This morning the lady that registered me was very professional, quick, yet thorough. She was also very pleasant which I have found is not a common occurrence in most hospitals. I will interject here that their outsourced billing is atrocious. Check your billing for overcharged and procedures that you did not have. Also, plan to be hassled concerning your bill(s). While waiting I'm the area that information is asked of me concerning my health and medications, James and. we're very thorough and pleasant which was a wonderful precursor to my heart cath. A surgical nurse also was garnering information I am sure was necessary for my procedure. Dr. Leverton may be a man of few words, but his care given in his office and in the O.R. is what counts. I trust Dr. Leverton literally with my life which he has saved 4 years ago and other procedures which should lengthen my life BTW, Dr. Leverton seems to be the Cardiologist for Brownwood, TX. He has a majority of his patients I am convinced from there which is evident upon arriving at his office. Back to ARMC. ALL the surgical team in the O.R. were friendly and put me at ease to what would be a heart cath requiring 2 stents and 1 balln inserted in my arteries. Not long after the procedure, I looked and felt better! Then the transport up to the second floor where I was greeted by another friendly person that proved to be a good, attentive. nurse

Todayad my 4th heart cath

Went to the ER here about a year ago complaining about pain and numbness in my arms, legs, and abdomen. Waited for seven and a half hours, I was examined for a stroke . When the second test came back negative I was discharged with a diagnosis of neuropathy. Saw a nurse practitioner about a week later and she was amazed they didn t have a doctor check me out or have a mri done.

I have been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and everything I feel with my hands is pure pain.

I wonder if it was caught earlier I could still feel everyday things. Like my wives skin or my dogs fur.

At least I have a $2000 ER bill to remember the good times I used to have. #sarcastic

#poorservice #expensive #evil at its best.

I went to the ER I spent 8 hrs there before being transferred to a room. So I had 2 different shifts to deal with the first shift was amazing the Dr seemed very concerned as well as the nurses they were great the second shift there is really nothing good to say no one checked on me but maybe once the dr stood at the door and talked to me for like a min a nurse was supposed to bring me meds never did. So after 8hrs I finally went to the 2nd floor to a room I was there almost 2 days and the nurses ,staff and one of the Dr's were amazing the only thing is I wish when shift change came I would have been able to actually see a doctor to take the time to come talk to me.

Hospital is great. Billing department doesn't have a clue. I am currently in collections for $250 that was paid a year ago. My bank has provided proof. They are very uncooperative and couldn't care less. I can't get this resolved no matter how hard I try. Go to Hendricks!

Terrible Hospital. I was there for a whopping 1 ho...

Terrible Hospital. I was there for a whopping 1 hour and they sent me an astronomical bill that would bankrupt anyone without billing my insurance first. Then I had to call my 1st insurance and they sorted things out for me. The hospital then sent me another bill later without billing my second insurance company (I guess I should have seen that coming) threatening to send my account to collections. I called them again and told them to look in my file and the person on the phone was like "oh, yeah here is your second insurance, I wonder why we didn't bill that" so she told me they would go ahead and bill them and send me the final bill. I never heard from them again until a Debt Collection agency sent me a card in the mail saying that i owed the balance of whatever my second insurance paid. I NEVER ONCE GOT CONTACTED BY THE HOSPITAL to pay the bill I should have actually owed from the beginning. I paid off my balance to the collection agency praying it won't hit my credit score, they said it shouldn't since they hadn't sent in my account and since I paid it as soon as I was notified.

TERRIBLE HOSPITAL, and the worst part is the doctor didn't care, the nurse or whoever was totally cold and indifferent and then besides the main hospital bill they sent me like 5 different bills from different places that were not covered by my health insurance. thankful their financial departments were way better to deal with that this nightmare of a hospital. Hendricks for the rest of my stay in Abilene it is. Avoid this place at all cost. It could be your financial ruin on top of barely mediocre health care.

Everyone took very good care of me , especially Nurse Amanda and Stefanie and Julia. They made me feel very confident in my care and did their jobs above and beyond what I expected. I believe God used each one to be a blessing to me. The food servers were very kind and helpful. The Doctors were very reassuring and I was confident in them.

My 90 year-old father-in-law was a patient on the 5th floor for the last three weeks of his life. He was treated with kindness and compassion by all of the nurses and administrators he encountered. We cannot speak highly enough about the treatment he received.

No one wants to be admitted to the Hospital, but I was and I had a great experience there at Abilene Regional Hospital. I was admitted for AF and underwent a procedure to shock my heart back into a normal heart beat and to help lower my blood pressure. The nurses, staff and my Doctor, Thomas Headstream took really good care of me. Thank you all at Abilene Regional Hospital.

First time ever being inpatient at this facility ....

First time ever being inpatient at this facility . My little girl was admitted for respiratory distress after coming into the emergency room. 5 stars goes to the emergency room staff. Quick, efficient, got her help asap. My daughter is 10 by the way... She was admitted and taken upstairs to room 3109. The room was disgusting. Walls, floor, bed, everything in that room was not clean. The card in the room said it was cleaned on 2/15/2020. My daughter was admitted on 3/4/2020. I don t know if another patient had been there before we were or not. I cleaned the room myself. I was not impressed. However the doctors and nurses treating her were so nice and helpful. So they also get 5 stars! Food service - 1 star except for Jessica she gets 5 but she s the boss and shouldn t have to hand deliver food to a patient because her staff cannot do their jobs correctly. After my daughter went 12.5 hours with no food or drink we tried to get her dinner tray once we got to the room and when they brought it, the order was wrong. I politely told the girl dropping off trays that it was wrong and she proceeded to tell my 10 year old to stop being picky and that she could eat crackers or a fruit cup instead. Excuse me?!? So that s why Jessica got involved and made things right. (Thank you!) But it was uncalled for. What about the patients who don t/won t ask for the supervisor? They just deal with it? That s not ok. But our medical staff did not let us go without anything. They didn t forget about us even though our room was on the opposite end of the hallway from the nurses station and that surprised me! They continued to check on us throughout the day and night. (5 stars!) but the cleanliness was terrible . The overall hospital was not clean. Even outside in the parking garage there are cigarette butts everywhere along the building. ARMC definitely needs to step it up with the cleanliness. You have some good staff working there and the environment needs to be better so we as patients feel comfortable getting care at this facility. Especially for our children during an emergency situation.

The nurses were amazing don t get me wrong, the person running this hospital not so sure...see video. Basically I came to this hospital to deliver my first baby and above the room I was put in they were doing construction all day and into the night. We were moved to a quieter location for a few hours but had to be brought back to the same room for the majority of the labor process. Worst experience in the world, if I wasn t being induced my husband would have probably flown me to another hospital out of this city. This was not part of my birth plan and was one of the most un-relaxing and uncomfortable things I ve gone through in my life. This was not the ideal environment for labor and I do not recommend anyone going to Abilene Regional Medical Center to give birth.

Some people go into nursing to help the sick and take care of people. Some people go in just for the money. You can tell which group decided to work for Abilene Regional. Rude, unprofessional and all around just plain mean. Don't ask for anything, because you're going to be shown how much of an inconvenience your presence is.

My Father was recently hospitalized for 3 weeks in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU).. He received the greatest care anyone could ever possibly imagine; His Doctors & Surgeon called me personally after Dad's surgery, as I live in another city and was unable to be there. The wonderful Nursing team were efficient, dedicated, pleasant and ABSOLUTELY accommodating, in making sure that I remained apprised of all medications/procedures that Dad was being given.. Also, to ensure getting the phone to him when I called. I am most thankful to Abilene Regional Medical Center for the VIP treatment given my Dad.. Which is how ANYONE of us would hope to, and should be treated. Thank you!

While I was waiting, Not only were the staff incompetent and not caring I could hear them making jokes and laughing at the nurses' station while I was in pain.

After I left I got stuck with a massive bill from the hospital. Not to mention my condition was actually addressed in a caring manner at Hendricks the next day with an emergency surgery.

Stay Away. I cannot recommend this place whatsoever.

Absolutely outstanding Care coupled with sincere Caring.
From the ER to discharge I ve never been better cared for. Everyone, and I do mean everyone, absolutely knew their job, seemed to actually enjoy their job and took care of me with genuine care and understanding.
Thank you so very much.

Went after a car accident of being in pain from head to toe. I had to sit in waiting room in wheel chair for 5 hrs. When I finally got called to go back in a room, the transport lady was rude and then the nurse wasn t very concerned and just treated me like an everyday car accident. I couldn t even move or stand and feel I should ve gotten an arm brace, neck brace and crutches. I didn t even have a doctor come talk to me or look at me. Now I m at home with stomach pain and blood in my urine and can barely move around stuck to my couch. I will probably have to go back to the ER but will try an express one instead as I should have in the first place.
