Great atmosphere, but the aperol spritz could have been better
Great food and service. Venue would be fantastic in summer.
A beautiful restaurant with a very refined cuisine, a service worthy of a great Parisian restaurant. It smells like the star.
This restaurant doesn't warrant any stars. I was so ill after eating chicken there, I've not been the same since. I had campoblacter which then went on to be reactive arthritis. Had the chicken been prepared and cooked properly I would never have been ill. I have held back writing a review due to taking legal action but even now they won't admit liability. What was supposed to be a nice lunch time treat has turned out to be the worst meal ever!
Nice rooftop bar and garden even. We didn't eat there, but tables looked real nice and appeared to have a seafood theme. Might try that next time around.
I do not know if it's French, but it's written in French.
However,
Outdoor yard has a good view
Reall poor and slow service especially out on the terrace
Good food, and a nice view. Criminally overpriced wine list and unhelpful somm.
I have been to Coq d'Argent with clients from the city a few times now and I would definitely recommend it for a business dinner/lunch if you are looking for a venue to impress! They really nail the service there, very professional staff, we have seen the same faces there for a couple of times now and they recognise you too. Food is beautiful and portions are decent, there are plenty of options all kinds of taste buds. Success every time I go!
We just got out of the restaurant that we visited for the first time. I dreamed about eating here since couple of years, and we are quite desapointed. First the atmosphere is not suitable for romantique dinner: it is very noisy and tables More
Food was lovely and to my delight they had a nice selection of desert wine. A very beautiful restaurant with amazing staff who go above and beyond to help despite the restaurant being full. A very nice experience and were very helpful with helping me and my daughter chose vegan options.
Average views on the outside viewing platform, expensive drinks, lacks atmosphere
Brilliant service, truly 5*, but the mains on the 3-course menu were nothing special. Maybe the a la carte is better...
Wondered in on a beautiful Saturday afternoon and sat outside for drinks and nibbles with a friend. Atmosphere was relaxed along with the crowd. The views are incredible - and the outside is amazing as the sun goes down over the city. I'm More
Outstanding!! Coq D'argent is the complete package, service, food, attention from the staff, all of this made for an unforgettable experience. The oysters were the best I've had, the lamb shank melted in the mouth and the fondant was perfection, thank you to Greg our waiter for his knowledge and charm.
Absolutely wonderful food, large menu selection. Wonderful , friendly professional staff
Grrat venue and food.... lacking in atmosphere.... on a saturday brunch
Sub par. It was expensive and the food was bland and lacked imagination. The crab starter seemed fresh out of a menu from the 1980s, and contained shells. Great selection of wines, though.
It's a rooftop venue but the view extremely low limited and uninteresting.
We dined here on a Saturday evening for the first time and from beginning to end it was superb. The staff were absolutely lovely and professional. We were not only served by a wonderful waitress but entertained by her too! (A lady from Greece..didn't get her name).
We had the set menu which includes a glass of champagne. Everything was brought to us in a timely fashion and tasted fantastic - we were so impressed. I often worry about portion sizes in 'fancy' restaurants but we struggled to complete the main course!
In a nutshell: great decor, fantastic ambience, wonderful staff and amazing food. We will be back in the summer!
Amazing food but really slow service, and it wasn't that busy! Late lunch on a Friday afternoon.
Service was 5 stars, but waiter asked 3 times am i sure i dont want starters: too pushy!
Food was: average (nothing special) and was served cold.
Carpet is crying for a change.
The service and food here are second to none in terms of French Restaurants in London. I have only given three stars as I'm concerned with a practice in respect to the service charge which I'm not sure is even optional. The concern is that More
Roof top bar and restaurant. Pretty decent place but higher end on prices. If eating at the restaurant booking in advance is advised. Outdoors is really nice in the Summer.
I can't speak for the restaurant area, but having come here for drinks and food from their bar snacks menu I am certain that I will not be going again. The food was very expensive and utterly mediocre, but worse than that was the service, which can only be described as contemptuous. The two people serving our area were singularly uninterested in serving us - even after we notified them that we'd like to order another drink. It strikes me as the sort of place that will get footfall regardless of quality because of its notoriety, and this is borne out by the types of people who go. The waiter only became polite to our party after we asked him to remove the discretionary service charge from our bill. Hopefully the next lot at our table had a slightly better experience as a result.
Great restaurant, ideal for both business and leisure.
The food is high level, you pay a lot for the location.
Beautiful classy venue......rooftop garden is divine. Well worth a visit.
I booked Coq D'Argent for a celebration for a group of 12. The service was absolutely exceptional from everyone from the security guard who let us on the terrace to take scenic photographs, to the barman who brought our drinks out to us to the waiter (Guiseppe) who served us and those on reception who took our coats. The service was 10/10, I couldn't fault it. The entire party felt well looked after. The food was good , however having seen what some of my friends ordered really excellent choices. I'd definitely go back there. Highly recommended!
We went mainly to the terrace but it was closed. We drank a 33 and 6 Pound thick blue ribbon in a bad place. The star given is because the terrace is there and if it's open it's worth going otherwise it's a place to avoid!
The lamb shank is a treat of the gods. The complimentary chocolates at the end are real fine too. But the lamb shank .. my word!
Go there early it can get very busy. Lovely place beautiful views georgeous roof garden
we visited coq d'argent for birthday meal and we had great time.
moment you walk in you feel welcome and so special by everyone, I definitely recommend this place to everyone, lovely outdoor space for drinks and beautiful dining room for meal.
thank you everyone making our evening so special.
Reliably refined, predictable but good quality. Excellent wine list with a sommelier who knows his stuff. However - they need to please stop staff who don't know Petrus from Pinot from recommending anything...
Went for my partners birthday to have a drink. It was raining and they was closing but they tried to accommodate us. They have a amazing garden on the roof of the building with panoramic views of the city. Even though they was closing they still let us have a drink which was nice. In the summer it would be a great venue to have drink and just chill.
Superb establishment with nice terrace.
Tasty food and perfect service.
A real good and pleasant time for lunch or chat quietly.
Very nice setting.
Our time at Coq dArgent was a bit mixed. While the food was very good, the service was poor. our server was rude, impatient and certainly spoiled our experience. the location was excellent and the views incredible! but for the service, i would be happy to recommend the place.
Had a great evening with drinks in the walled garden- lovely venue
A quite secret place with amazing view to the Bank. The staff was professional and polite. Perfectly suits for having a couple of drinks just to enjoy the evening. :))
Fantastic meal after an unexpected last minute change of plans (you can see the details in my 5-Star review of their sister restaurant Madison), me and my wife had a spectacular meal and got a private tour of their amazing rooftop garden!! The quail starter was delicious and the sea bass main was divine!! Great meal, great restaurant, great experience!!
Don't recommend it at all.
The service is horrendous. The waiters are not professional, and not kind. Food is good, but the service is so bad that I wouldn't go back. I tried twice, because I thought maybe the first time they had a bad day, but this wasn't the case.
Won't go back.
I tried another restaurant which is 1 minute away from Coq, called 1 Lombard Street, and it is miles better. Good food and excellent service.
Really good food.. lovely ambiance but service was very slow.
In general it was very good. The ambience and food we had on the terrace were great. My only problem was the service..it was a Sunday lunchtime but it was incredibly slow. Getting anything ordered in the first place took some encouragement, then our empty main course plates probably sat on the table for at least 15 mins after we had eaten. Pudding was the same and they cleared everyone's, apart from 2 plates which continued to sit on the table long afterwards. I had a half eaten choc brownie on mine (as it was too rich to eat it all) but they simply could have asked if I was finished- which I was!
The saving grace was that I was with 4 girlfriends I had not seen in awhile so our continued chatter softened the rubbish service. We were also in no rush, so ended up staying for 4 hours.
The waiters themselves were fine, but the speed of ordering and plate clearing needed vast improvement. Lastly, they tried to take our pudding order right at the start. This is not fine dining etiquette.
The food was beautiful, staff was nice and there was an allergy free menu!
Things to know:
- booking is easy but often necessary as it gets quite packed
-book in advance set menu in order to have a slightly more affordable dinner
-if you eat gluten free you have full menu to choose from
Setting is beautiful and terrace is great when the weather is good.
It is a bit pricey but considering location and food it has to be expected and you are definitely getting what you have paid for.
About the rooftop bar area only: airy, well-staffed, with green surrounds and canopies shielding you from the sun. The garden and look-out tower were formerly the statement suicide point-of-choice for city-types who'd had enough: not so much these days since they erected barriers. See my pics taken from The Ned for a better view of the rooftop gardens.
Note to the owners: the piped musak *is* a smidge too loud.
One of the few rooftop bars/restaurants in London, it can't be beaten of a beautiful English day. Food wonderful but not an inexpensive lunch. Service appropriately attentive
one of the few decent places in the City - cool atmosphere and decent service - especially nice in the Summer for drinks - but can feel a bit corporate at times - try set lunch menu as good value
You return with a great experience and awesome food.
Couldn't fault the food given that we had the set menu. The chocolate fondant was excellent! Nice ambience, clean and the waiting staff was professional yet friendly. Nice way to celebrate my birthday regardless of all the Covid paraphernalia (masks, time restrictions etc) , which sometimes makes you feel weird ! Overall, worth a visit!
Came for a drink. Great atmosphere and comfortable couches. Drinks are delicious, on the pricier end but on par with the area. Good twists on classic cocktails.
The set menu was really good value. Portions are slightly small but great food.
Love it. A lovely place to be with friends and colleagues.
Both restaurant and bar are very good. Delicious food and cocktails. Very good service generally although can be quite slow when it gets busy.
A fantastic rooftop bar and restaurant. Great ambience both indoors and out. The rooftop garden is very nicely created and planted with trees and shrubs quite tastefully. If it gets a little cold the are heaters to take off the chill. Some superb views across the city. Great range of drinks a and well made cocktails.
A great place to have drinks with great near 360 views of city and London skyline from the top terrace locations
A tad too pricey generally but that is to be expected in the area
Very pleasant greenery surrounding in the heart of the City of London, excellent food, very good wine selection and very good service.
Great food and excellent wines with top notch service
Our waiter Greg was Awesome. He was brilliant!! He went above and beyond for my French inlaws. The food was amazing. So grateful for the great service and great food! Our favorite restaurant in London
Definitely too expensive and with the classic stench under the nose of the French. Average food good slow service.
The view is nothing exceptional unless you like to browse the offices and watch people at work
Good wines. The food on the offer menu is poor apart from the desserts.
French food very tasty and well presented. Nice ambience, lovely rooftop terrace but it's way smaller than it looks in the photos.
Loved the service, the staff is very nice.
I've decided to try for the first time the snails - great choice, not disappointed as all!
Unfortunately the prices were substantially high.
Amazing atmosphere with even more amazing staff. We have been served by Mary. She was so kind and at the same time so professional! We will definitely come back for.
Went there for a private event, very spacious and the views made it a special night out.
Delicious food made out of high quality ingredients
The best rooftop Restaurant & Bar in the city. Food,Service,Atmosphere...all is there !
