Never have I ever worked at a company that has been so cold and anxiety-driven as this one. Most of the positive five star reviews you ll find below are either written by people who feel internally inadequate here all the time and filter it with fake happiness, or are writing it in fear that Google will track their cookies and somehow 360i will see it.
Nevertheless, I do not really care for this digital ad agency as it was one of the most depressing internship/work experiences in my life and definitely left a mark on me for how uncomfortable I felt there. As a Junior Associate, I was to soak up and put into practice Google s ad structure, data analyzing, and ad writing, so to say. The media academy was simply the Advertising industry s version of the military s basic training . However, most of the time, it felt like there was very little direction from management or learning from the person I shadowed with. Instead of making me feel welcome or trying to connect with me on a professional level, even attempting to get to know me as a person, I was mocked and given the cold shoulder. The implication was that, out of 12 other Junior Associates, a few would be weeded out, and I was definitely one of them. Therefore, by putting me on my very first account, or brand, that had a horrible reputation as a company and an internal team (360i) that I didn t connect with, is not a very great way of guiding a newcomer to grow in the field of Advertising. My process of learning here as a trainee felt rushed and very pressured throughout. Expectations were set on an extremely high bar.
Most of the employees there seemed very miserable, sitting at their cubicle and staring blankly at their monitors. Having to grab a cup of water from the coke freestyle machine to take a break, then anxiously heading back to their desk while not speaking to anyone. None of my former team members even bothered to make me feel welcome or like I belonged to something larger when I approached them or went to every meeting. Instead, there was only passive aggressive feedback about how there were certain things to do different such as asking more questions that are relevant. When comparing myself to other Junior Associate s, they actually laughed with their team members and loved working with them and not feigning any of it. It felt to me that I should be having the same experience, but had to convince myself that everyone has a bump in the road before the finish line. For me, there were hills and ripples that guided my journey during those three months as an intern. Nothing else could even come close to comparing.
As you re submitting an application to this company and polishing up your cover letter, just ask yourself in the meantime, do I care about making an average paycheck that will help support me or do I care more about my emotional wellbeing and if people are going to be nice here? The most important thing about any company should be how happy you are with your coworkers and the way you feel about the company/working there, not competing to the top to make more money than the person in a position below you. 360i just doesn t have these qualities. Think again before applying here.
